This man acquired the best OL in the league in one offseason (turning over 4/5 starters) and has every offensive starter besides Swift signed through at least 2027. Trapilo looks like the answer at LT too.

No. He’s deserved all the criticism he’s received. On the flip side, hiring Ben Johnson was the right move and getting Jackson, Thuney, and Dalman were great acquisitions. Every GM is going to make good moves and bad moves. Every GM deserves praise and criticism.
Hope Poles is successful going forward.
Maybe just maybe, a rebuild takes 3 years and you need a coach the GM selects, not one predetermined for him.
Poles has had misses. That’s fine. He’s owned up to them. But he was a young GM and continues to learn and improve. Arrow pointing up.
I had patience and understanding, so I’m just here to see the meatballs apologize.
never happening in this sub lmao. you’re better off asking jerry jones to sell the cowboys.
ryan poles is FAR from perfect, but i think he’s a lot further from dog shit than people allude to. when things go poorly, he gets all the blame. when things are going well, he gets no credit. sure, ben johnson and dennis allen could be in charge of a lot, if not all, of the roster decisions, but they agreed to come here and work with Poles being the GM.
Never hated on Poles gang get in here
Turns out when his roster wasnt being coached by the worst coach in NFL history it’s pretty good
I think Eberflus’s staff couldn’t develop talent and this staff excels at it. I remember 3 games into the season this years draft being called a huge bust because the rookies werent starting.
Poles hasnt been perfect. However, he came into a disaster of a roster with no 1st round picks in his first draft, limited cap space, and was given a choice between 3 preselected headcoaches.
Im glad Ben is here, because now some of the picks that we think should be good have a better chance at success under Ben.
The o-line he built is an absolute unit. Also it appears that he can actually recognize talent, and that his flaw is/was that he was taking “project” players for a coaching staff that couldn’t develop players. Now that we have real coaches, his choices make a lot more sense.
No, I don’t think I will.
Easy to have zero faith in the Bear organization’s decision-making, as per the last 25 years demonstrate. The sudden short-term success is certainly encouraging, but still very hesitant about the long-term. Two upcoming games against GB will answer a lot of immediate questions as historically 2 losses to them per season has been the norm, with few outliers.
Ryan Pace also has a good season under his belt (2018) and he ended up setting this franchise back years. I’m not quite ready to crown Poles until I see sustained success. However, I really think we will get there
I kinda gave shit to anybody suggesting a strong possibility of Ian Cunningham getting poached. After all 13-36 doesn’t sell well. That shit is actually on the table for real now. I’d love an extra 3rd round pick. I might prefer he trade away that 3rd rounder though, lol
Good better best! Gang
Silvy out on Poles: 12/17/24
He never put any real stock into the DL/OL until this year. I will give him credit for Thuney, as if weren’t for his KC connects, we would likely not have gotten him, and signing the rest. We still need a Edge/LT – these have been needs since he got here and I hope he addresses them in the early rounds of the draft.
I wonder if we made the Claypool trade now if things would be different… If Ben coached him the years ago maybe the trade would have been worth it
No
I see a lot of people saying they trusted him but im gonna give my honest opinion….. I didn’t,b I thought he was hot garbage. Now I humbly admit that no GM is perfect, this man is much better than I originally thought . So I Apologize.
Poles haters been awfully quiet the last few weeks.
Wasn’t he the GM who made the trade that got us Caleb? He knew Bryce was not worth the #1 pick and made the move that gave us Moore and the #1 pick in 2024.
And he dug us out of cap hell! It took time!
He still has had some missteps, but his good decisions are turning into great ones and he deserves praise for that
Weird how his job performance improved drastically after the hiring of Ben Johnson
Let poles slowcook
Who ever signed nashon wright…thank you and we’re all sorry.
Where was Jalen Carter all game yesterday???
He may have absolutely cooked this draft. Gotta be happy with Loveland, Burden, and Monangai – three important pieces to the offense and support for Caleb.
If Trapillo is your answer at LT then it takes it to another level.
And sprinkle in Tuner, Newman, and possibly Frazier as backups with upside and sheeesh….
Hahahah
I’m sorry
I need not apologize because I never wavered in my belief that he was building the team correctly and that it would take some time.
It’s time to give this man his flowers!
Yes he made plenty of fuck ups in his first 3 years but he was a young inexperienced GM with a complete book for a HC. Credit to KW and Ownership for recognizing Flus was a terrible HC and it was time to pull the plug. Poles finally went out and landed the biggest fish out there, and possibly the biggest fish since McVay/Shanahan? And that guy is everything he was advertised to be and more if that’s even possible.
Ben and the coaches are absolutely making the most of what they’ve been given, no questions there. But, kudos to Poles for going out there and getting them these pieces. Especially the OL. So much was made about the draft class’s lack of production after 2 weeks, well how about now? , I get it, things looked bleak, but maybe just maybe we give things time to play out and see how guys develop. I know everyone wants to see instant results, but development doesn’t happen overnight.
Let’s enjoy the ride and be thankful for what we have now yall.
