Uh you know, it’s just a a craziness uh game sports. I’m told this was a Sharks versus Conucks game, but by the end it was all the players and everyone in the building versus the refs, right? I mean, and and on both sides, I think even Exactly. The officiating was interesting. I mean, the play was Okay, let’s just get into it. Yeah, let’s let’s get into it. It It was one of those weird ones. Uh, but, you know, Brock Besser gets the scoring going. Open about four and a half minutes in on a wrist shot to make it, you know, one- nothing Vancouver. I mean, honestly, I’ll start with you. I had a bad feeling once that went in. I was a little scared when that went in. I thought we were going to have a cuz it’s not that the Sharks were playing well. is Sam Dickinson. He had one bad turnover before that, which means he’s not playing tomorrow. No, I mean, he’s never plays back to backs, but the Sharks just like they have this time where like each period they forget how to play hockey for 2 minutes and that was the two minutes. So, look, it was a nice goal by Besser. You could tell as like fudgies. Um, but the shirts were supplied, I thought, pretty well after that. So, Dana, I mean, I I I think I certainly was thinking that Nadulkovich was going to start this one and have Asky play tomorrow in Vegas, but were you surprised? Oh, yeah. I don’t know. I didn’t really think anything of it, but you’re right. Now, now that you say that, um maybe it was the Sharks feeling and it’s like it’s interesting because it’s not like Vegas are world beaters this year. They’ve had significant struggles. Um, I don’t know. Maybe the Sharks were like, you know, we’re we really think we can, you know, beat the Canucks, which I guess they were right, you know, so that’s the the, you know, safer bet. Like, let’s make sure we can beat the Conucks, put our, you know, ASI in and Vegas will be what it’ll be. Um, you know, plus they’ve had certainly goending struggles. So, like maybe that was the logic, but I don’t know. When I heard ASI was starting, like I didn’t really think anything of it. Yeah. I mean, and maybe that’s the best way to do it, you know, like Hank Fuvius is also saying, Askey’s glove, uh, looking looking strong after Colorado lit it up. Way to bounce back and stronger than what’s his name’s glove. I’m sorry, I can’t remember his name. Vegas and is probably monster numbers tomorrow. Right. Right. He’s the bully of the present. And for that matter, now that I think about it, I mean, opening night, it was Nadulkovich against Vegas. I’m saying he wants he wants revenge on Vegas. Um, but they’ve been really good at just kind of not letting losses since that six game losing streak of not letting stuff pile up. Um, and they’ve been awesome at home. And what was the stat we that they’re like 70 and one? Yeah, they were like seven and one leading in third. That’s night and day difference from last season. Last season, if they if they were leading in the third, I assume they’d lose. You’re not wrong. You’re not wrong. And that’s a very Did NHL update their stats? That’s a very um good point. So, the Sharks right now are 27th and they’re tied with Utah again for the last wild card spot. Yeah, they’re one point behind Vegas and they’re only four points out of the division lead. The Pacific sucks, guys. The Pacific’s trash or or Colorado who has 40 points. But wait a minute. I hear me out. Okay. Sorry. No, I I want to push back on the Pacific sucking cuz like, okay, you look at the, you know, top three teams have 31, 29, 28. Okay, the Central’s way better. You know, Colorado 40, Dallas 34, Minnesota 32. You go to the East though, their top teams have 32 and 33, respectively. So, I think if we’re comparing to the Central, that’s one thing. Um, but I think this, you know, Central just has two really, really good teams, one, you know, vastly beating everybody. So, I would if you look at the East, right? You have New Jersey at 33, Tampa at 32. And like even if you look at the league, right, the closest the highest Pacific team is ranked sixth right now in the league. You have the Wild, Tampa, Jersey, Dallas, ABS, all ahead of any Pacific team, right? Like the Central is like dominant and then you have the Devils and Lightning. Um, but in the bottom however many Oh no, there’s two teams. Okay, maybe you’re right, Jules. Maybe you’re right. No, you’re good. No, I think I think maybe you’re right. But you look at the teams that are in that are in the top 12 and I don’t think anybody would expect them Islanders are 11th. No, but I mean I’m looking at that Anaheim is sixth. LA is 10th. Seattle is 12th. And but here’s the here’s the thing. You look at that where’s Seattle top 12 in the league? They’re at 28. Sharks are at 27. They’re right in it. They’re 21 right now. They’re tied. They have the same Sorry. They have They’re tied for 18th. They’re tied for 18th right now in the league. That That’s how But I think it goes back to saying how tight the middle of the pack. I mean, there’s definitely been some They have the same record as the Utah Mammoth that people were saying were a playoff team to start. And they might be. They still might be. They They’re in a playoff spot. Like everyone was hyping up Utah at the start of the year and they’ve cooled off, right? They have the same record. Same with Detroit. Yeah. Yeah. One more regulation win than Utah, but one more uh two more regulation losses. The OT points. Yeah. And they’ve played a game in hand. So that’s why Utah is technically has that one. But yeah, it definitely sets up the uh uh it definitely sets up a big game tomorrow night in Vegas. Sharks radar. Yes. Uh getting back to this game, Sharks get a power play. I think this is I mean granted the building’s a little bit louder and fuller but definitely a lot of booze when at one point it was just becoming funny cuz like every single time every single time Kane touched the puck you just hear boo and like I get it. I was I was not Reeves fight. And and for those and for those longstanding Sharks fans, this goes back to like the days of Darren Flurry, Chris Pronger. I mean, at one point it was just becoming at I keep I keep forgetting I’m holding a mic, but at one point it was just becoming memeable because it was just every time it’s just boo. And like I made a joke to Puck when we were walking out the concourse. Oh, I think Kane has the puck right now. This is not a photo that should be on air. Yes, he actually didn’t have a bad game. Like he drew a penalty. Um he he had a fine game. I think it was it was nice and nice to see William Ecklan off the I need to get off the schneide. Him and Smith was nice. I think it was like nine nine games without uh a goal for Ekkan if I’m not mistaken. So, it was nice. Now, I’m gonna come to you, Dana, on this one for the Godette goal. Because they didn’t show the replay to us too much. Oh. So, explain to me what you saw on the broadcast because it was like it was a it was a little confusion in the building. Yeah. So, I didn’t, you know, after the like I thought it was just a you know, glove catch fine. pretty immediately. Um, the broadcast says, “Oh, the situation room in Toronto is looking at this.” And once they said that, okay, maybe there was a goal. So, I kind of got the sense like, oh, if the situation room immediately um said something to the refs, like that’s got to mean something. And then they um they showed the angle, you know, the one angle you could see it from on the broadcast. And you can actually see through the net of I’m sorry, I hate to say what’s his name, but I can’t remember his name. Um his glove, it wasn’t Demco. I I’ll give you that. It wasn’t Demco. We were looking at that last night. Broadcast mentioned they had a stat. Sorry, this is a tangent. Polio. Yes. They had a statistic that was like he has he made the most saves in an NHL game of any goalie from Bellarus. It was great. Oh wow. But yeah anyway um you can you could see uh through the net of his glove like oh you know oh I see netting oh I see black. So, right, right. It was pretty clear to me as a viewer that it was a goal and it was just going to be like, “Will the situation room say something?” And uh or make the correct decision, and they did. And apparently, it was the first time in 5 years in the NHL where the situation room overturned a nogoal call on the ice. Really? So, look at us. We’re Gary Bman’s favorite. Now, the refs show that tonight. Greatly Gary Bman. I know. No, maybe that honestly though, maybe that like made the refs pissy. They carried that energy through the rest of the That would explain a lot. Say my thoughts on this ending. Oh gosh. I mean, this this I mean there could be a sense in in in that case. you know, they again they’re proud and they want to make sure that they’re all right, but you know, I mean that could have upset them a little bit to be quite honest, but um but nonetheless, we were I was wondering what was going on there and and I turned to you and you’re like, “That’s a goal. That’s a goal.” And and I kept seeing Godette was like, “No, cuz I literally Okay, yes, Godette.” But I literally saw this man’s glove go past the goal, right? And and I think we both saw that and then we’re like I thought he might have had it like outside was also going like this the whole time. Right. Also the sharks didn’t play a replay. Thank you guys. Yes, I’m going to drop this on on people and I’m sure they’ll be saved. But there’s me when I played for the Oakland Berkeley Minor Hockey Club when we opened up uh Oakland Ice Center in the ‘9s. Um yes, that that was me with with my really cool at the time aluminum. You’re doing great. East aluminum stick. I mean it was just it was the coolest thing and it was job. Oh. So, wanted to shout it out because uh as a as a graduate of of the NorCal leagues in the youth hockey, it’s great to see a number of teams around like the I don’t remember Vakavville or or uh Tahoe or Reno having squads in our league. Uh, one time we played in in Stockton and the next day we had to play in Santa Rosa at 8 a.m. Um, so that it was it was a fun experience. Loved it all. I still keep in touch with some of the some of my guys. So, okay. So, Sharks on NBC, you’re kind of evil. Sorry, I just saw this.
