Houston Texans CJ Stroud Set To Be Back VS Colts!

What is going on my Houston Texans family? Hope you’re all are having a blessed Tuesday. What we are going to talk about today is what we normally do every Tuesday after a football game is give our level of confidence in this Houston Texan offense. Now, the last three weeks where we’re talking about Davis Mills at quarterback and Davis Mills went three and 0. It wasn’t all pretty. I can say that out of the 12 quarters that Davis Mill started, he played three in good, you know, he played good in three of them, right? The fourth quarter against Jacksonville, I would say the fourth quarter against Tennessee, and then in the second quarter against Buffalo. But nonetheless, he did just enough to get you those victories because this defense has turned into something that to be honest with you guys, we’ve never seen before. But let’s talk about our confidence in CJ Shroud. Now, CJ Stroud is still currently in the concussion protocol, but I think we are all in the same boat that CJ Stroud will pass this week and will play against the Indianapolis Colts in Indie, which is the Straoud House. Just type in 713 HLOU. Now, ladies and gentlemen, I think you’ve heard me say this the last month, but this is the biggest game of the season coming up against Indie. If you want to still talk about winning this division, which would not, you know, would not be surprising. You’ve won the last two. You have to win on Sunday against Indianapolis in their home, which CJ Stroud has done multiple times before if you want to talk about furthering, you know, the perception of your team. Now, right now, everyone’s saying you don’t want to play this team because of how damn good their defense is. What if you can add? Not only is their defense good, but it looks like they figured out their offensive line and quarterback CJ Shout came out there and started slinging it. Now, I do think the biggest win of the season for the Houston Texans was against Buffalo. And I do believe this Indianapolis Colts game is big, but I think it’s even bigger for quarterback CJ Strad, right? I I do think there is a tremendous amount of pressure on him in this football game. Given the fact that Davis Mills went three and 0 regardless how you look at it, like I said, of his 12 quarters, I think he played good in three of them. He ended up the game with a W. when you were talking about a backup quarterback, I mean, you kind of um, you know, you can’t really critique them too hard because they’re not supposed to be in that situation. So, Davis Mills, in my opinion, gets an A when you also factor in, you know, how important these games were when your season was, you know, you know, your season was in the hands of Davis Mills. Now, we know it wasn’t on Davis Mills. We know the last three games 80% of them, you know, I would say 80% of the success, 75% of the success was because of the defense, but nonetheless, you still needed an offense to put up some points. So, I think in that factor, CJ Shroud, there was a tremendous amount of pressure on him to win this football game and really play good going forward. Because even though I don’t believe that there is a quarterback controversy, even though I don’t believe that Davis Mills is better than CJ Shroud, you’re going to have conversations from fans who do think that there needs to be a change at quarterback. If CJ Shroud goes out there these next few weeks, cuz he’s going to have a long leash, this is the franchise guy. You know, those conversations are going to get louder each and every single week. and it starts this Sunday against Indianapolis. You know, my confidence in CJ Strad, even though I am excited that he’s back, even though I’m a big fan of CJ Strad, you know, it it is a five. This could be his biggest win of the season, knocking down one of the best teams in the NFL record-wise. a division opponent in their home. Now, everyone looks at you and is wondering, can you keep this up? Can you be a dark horse going forward? I will say though, I’m not like I’m not surprised there’s these fans that want to see Davis Mills out there. He’s winning football games and at the end of the day, getting a dub is what matters, right? But nonetheless, I want you guys to let me know in the comments down below what is your confidence in CJ Shroud. And I honestly do think we can see some, you know, better performances, more consistent performances and, you know, from this offense, not only good in quart, you know, in one quarter, but good in all four. Right. One of the things that I think is going to work in CJ Strad’s favor is the fact that when CJ Shroud was, you know, going through hell the first three weeks of the season, the Houston Texans, they weren’t utilizing the rookies. They started doing that as of late. Jaden Higgins has been a threat in the red zone the last few weeks, scoring in the red zone the last few weeks. That wasn’t happening when CJ Shadow was out there. uh the carries between Woody Mars and Nick Chub, you know, they’re not subst, you know, substantially different. It wasn’t like that when CJ Sha was out there running the, you know, running the offense. It was more of a split carry type situation between Woody Mars and Nick Chub. I mean, hell, even when Woody Marx had the great game against Tennessee, what did he do the following week? Well, it was majority Nick Chub, but now it is all Woody Marks. It is all number 27. Jaylen No is still Jaylen though. The Texans are not utilizing him as they should. They still believe in Christian Kirk, but from the Jaden Higgins and Woody Mark standpoint, their presence wasn’t really there when the, you know, when the offense was operating with CJ Stroud, right? were complaining every single week. Get the young guys involved. Get the young guys involved. And I do think Jayden Higgins is kind of emerging himself as a number two wide receiver for this Houston Texans, man. If he keeps on if he keeps on uh playing like he has been the last month. Let me see how many touchdowns he has. Jayen Higgins, his stats on the year, he has four touchdowns, 294 yards, but he has one. He has three touchdowns in the last five games. Two touchdowns in the last three games. And in the last three games, he’s hit 40 yards, 50 yards, 38 yards. want to see more from Jaden Higgins. Another reason why I think CJ Shaw is going to benefit from is this new offensive line. And I can’t believe I’m once again saying this new offensive line that is being thrown out there that has has been successful. It was successful against the Buffalo Bills. Did we think they were going to allow zero sacks? No. Trent Brown looks fantastic at right tackle. Zero pressures allowed against Joey Bosa. I think Trent Brown has started the last three games and he’s looked fantastic in two of them. Little iffy against Jacksonville, but you know, still very good. Ed Ingram at left guard. Shout out to Ed Ingram. It’s clear the Houston Texans are able to move the football on the ground when he’s there. been playing good for you all season. Jake Andrews at center. Shout out to Jake Andrews. You found him off the street. Titus Howard being back at left guard. Hey, I think I said Edd Ingram was left guard. No, Eding goes right guard. But Titus Howard being back at left guard, I think could be huge going forward, not only for the offensive line because I think Titus Howard is one of your best five. And the good thing about Titus Howard is that he’s able to move all over the offensive line. But think about what it does for Arante Ursery. Arante Ursery has had a rotating door next to him all season between Lake and Tomlinson and Juice Scrugs. This is a second round pick. This is potentially your left tackle of the future. You want to have a veteran next to him who knows what he’s doing. And Titus Howard knows what he’s doing. And this offensive line last week against Joey Bosa and um and Greg Rouso, zero sacks allowed. Now, that’s not saying that Davis Mills was completely untouched. He evaded some sacks. He threw the ball away. But I think this offensive line is going to give CJ Shroud his best opportunity to stand back there and operate. And I think, you know, the final thing that is going to help CJ Shroud is just seeing what Davis Mills was out there and doing. Like I said, it wasn’t all pretty, but still when the job needed to be done, it got done. And I really do hope that he, you know, learned something from Davis Mills in the body language standpoint, the the podium talk. Davis Mills being calm, cool, collective. Davis Mills looking like a stone cold killer, not letting his emotions get too high, not letting his emotions get too low. And I think that’s the main thing that CJ Shroud needs to gain from Davis Mills. With that being said, ladies and gentlemen, CJ Shroud and Jayen Petri are still in concussion protocol. This is filmed on Tuesday, 9:10 a.m. So maybe we’ll hear later today that they both cleared. Maybe we’ll hear it tomorrow in practice.
