    This team is going to be exciting soon I’d hate to botch that. Maybe go for the right free agent if it’s there 

  6. The first thing I thought of is this just cost the Islandwrs a 1st or second round draft pick in a trade. The islanders are still sellers not buyers. Next year they can try for a run.

    My 2 cents: islanders will elevate Tsyplakov and Shabanov a bit to fill the gap. If that doesn’t work expect them to give Joey Larson a shot based on his good play in the AHL this year.

  16. Damn we’re falling apart bit by bit. Not just a scorer but a leader we can’t afford to lose.

  21. Ouch. Really just hope that’s not career ending. He’s been exactly the type of guy you need in the locker room, and true leader on/off the ice. Never could knock his effort – and showed by even picking up that assist.

    If it’s a career, I could see him making a move into (assistant) coach.
