Personally, I loved Michael Busch this season. He led all Cubs with 34 homers in the regular season, and by all means delivered in the postseason with a 1.128 OPS and 4 homers in 8 postseason games. He sharply cut down his strikeout rate and boosted his contact rate a ton. His baseballsavant page is a work of art. His xBA was raised by nearly 50 points, and ended up in the top few percentile in all slugging-related categories. Thank you, Michael Busch. Here’s to another 34 next year.

  1. PCA. Not concerned about production, his entertainment value alone makes this team fun. We need that as fans. We became expectation snobs and forgot why we love this team.

  2. Carson Kelly. The loss of Amaya would have been devastating if Kelly had not stepped up. Plus, it’s always fun to have a hometown guy to root for on my team.

  3. Nico is the reason this team was watchable down the stretch. Man is a quiet leader and a hell of a baseball player.

  4. Agree with everyone listed here so far. I’ll also throw out Mathew Boyd and his terrific season and Michael Busch hitting over 30 homers.

  5. The whole ride. I haven’t fallen this hard in love with a Cubs team since those 15/16 teams.

  6. Nico Hoerner. I pray we extend him- this team needs an identity and who better to represent us !

  7. Thankful for Palencia for giving us someone teams are intimidated by to close out games. Gasolina! 🔥🔥

  8. Justin Turner. I love that a pudgy bearded dude who looks like a regular at Merkle’s can step in and hit homers and the guy makes me smile.

  9. Suzuki deserves some love. He deserved to be an All Star. Plus he was crushing the ball towards the end/into the playoffs.

    Nobody saw that coming.

  10. Tucker, only for showing us that it would’ve been a disastrous idea to spend money on him. 🙂

But for real? Nico. He needs to be a cub for life.

  11. Hoerner. Underrated star. Really good hitter, smart on the basepaths, elected fielder and solid team mate.

  12. Michael Busch. Gonna be here for a long time. Buy out his arb years . 7 years $100 million easy money.

  13. PCA. Got excited for his at bat every time even when he struggled. Not even mentioning his defense
