It’s the 49ers at the Browns and Shador Sanders getting start number two after winning start number one. Yeah, there it is. What kind of watch you got on there? Uh, free. It’s fake. It’s a ROMX bought on the street in New York. It’s going to be green in a couple weeks. What do you think? Uh impressed. I was impressed by played better than Brock Perie this past. Look, I mean, so did everybody. We t we’ve talked about it and I’m going to talk about it till I’m blue in the face, but the pressure this guy Shadore is under and the amount of media scrutiny. I haven’t seen something like this since like Johnny Menzel, I feel like. And they’re for two completely different reasons, right Pete? Um, we’re going to find out more about him this week. I don’t think the Browns are going to beat this football team. Actually, what did I have here? Yeah, I got the 49ers. Um, but I’m just thinking about Shadore and the impact he can have on a guy like Miles Garrett and his quality of life and the guys around that locker room. If you’ve really got a guy with juice at the quarterback position, the eggs taste better at 6:30 a.m. You know what I mean? The workout’s a little bit more fun. It’s not all for not. You’re not running out there expecting to get your head cut off every time. If you’ve got a quarterback, you got a chance. Him rolling right and throwing the bomb down the field, I’m like, uh, you know, the heavens opened up. Uh, I I just think Shadur gives them a ton. That being said, I’ll pick the Niners. They made the right decision to play him this week. It’s time. Look, you know what you have in Dylan. Even though Gabriel’s been cleared. You know what you have in Dylan Gabriel. He’s not the answer. Win the Super Bowl. You have to find what? He’s not the answer. You have to find out if Shador Sanders is the answer. and and you that’s what you use the rest of the season for because you have two first round picks next year you can get a quarterback next year. So find out what he can do. Yeah, that spinning right and throwing on the run was a great play by Shador Sanders, but throwing into the defensive end who dropped out into the stomach on a terrible, right? So, but find out what he is. It seems like he he to me is like one of like Manzel the polarizing quarterbacks. You know, you split down the middle and no matter what he does, it’s either going to be good or bad. It’s, you know, everybody sees that throw and they go, “Oh, he’s the greatest guy in the world.” They don’t they don’t look at the bad. Or if you look at the bad, you don’t see the good. You got to look at him from that lens. I think he was impressive for a first start on the road. The Raiders stink, but on the road stink. I think he’s going to play okay here, but this is going to be about their defense keeping him in the game. Miles Garrett is playing at such an unbelievable level, but he’s also getting help from other guys. You know, the rookies are playing Swissinger and and and Graham are playing great. So when you look at it, I think the defense will keep them in this game. Plus, you pull a tape out from from Monday night and show Brock Pury throwing it in everybody else’s stomach except his own teammates and you got a little chance here. So I think it I think they hang around in this game. Miles Garrett five sacks away. M Jones should still be out there. Five sacks away from setting the alltime mark. You You really believe that? Last night he’s not Brock Pie’s not right, dude. You don’t think he’s healthy? There’s something wrong with Brock Birdie. Yeah. Turf toe still bothering him. th I threw the ball for a living when I played baseball for a little bit and if if something wasn’t right, the ball didn’t have the zip or didn’t end up where I’m I’m throwing it. It sails, right? Things happen. That’s what it looked like to me last night. In conjunction with that, the post ball that he threw behind his receiver, there was an interception. That was just the game happening very fast. He’s been out of it for a while. I think that part gets better for him. But until he can start driving the football, he it doesn’t look like he’s driving the football because when you don’t drive the football, the ball sails. Yeah, it’s a tough defense to try to get right with defense. Oh, are you are you uh and Ashton watching in the barn together where you know I mean, why is everything going to come back to the barn? Well, because I mean I’ll probably be in the barn. This is you are you the two of you are have a similar goal in this game on Friday. Yeah, I would say so. the enemy of your enemies, which is which is Bears win. You know, the Bears. Let’s go. Yeah, I’ll probably be in a bar and just answer your question. There you go. Was that so tough? You know, the more I think about it, you’re right, Rich. San Francisco and Cleveland is going to be pretty interesting. And I want to keep an eye on this one. Uh, is it more likely that Christian McCaffrey goes for 125 or more total yards? Yes. Which he’s done seven times this year. or Miles Garren has two plus sacks, which he’s done five times this season. I’m going to do what you don’t want me to do. I’m going to say both. You can’t do that. I can only put my marker down on both. No, you know, no, that’s not how the game is played. We’ve only been doing this like seven years. You know, he never accepts that answer. One or the other? Um, six, seven. I I I’ll go I’ll go Miles Garrett has more than two sacks. Was that so hard? Yes, it was hard. It was hard cuz you know I love Christian McCaffrey have to do with love. Yeah. I know that. I know that. But I’ll just say that if the Browns defense shows up then obviously Garrett’s going to get the sacks and they’ll they’ll remove McCaffrey from the chess board. That’s what they’ll attempt to do here. Um you know so I’ll go with that one. Plus I really want to make both. I’m saying both because both is going to happen. In this case I think both are going to happen. Thank you. Was that so tough? Listen, this isn’t my game. You know, it’s our game. San Francisco 49ers coming off a Monday Night Football win traveling to Cleveland to take on another team coming off a big time win in the Cleveland Browns. Uh let’s talk about the Cleveland Browns here to start. Dton, what do you got? Um well, of course, the spotlight will be on Shidor Sanders coming off his first NFL start, first NFL win, and he looked okay outside of the really bad interception he threw to Charles Snowden uh in the first half. He was okay. He did the fundamental things that allowed the offense to at least function, which in Cleveland is at times feels like a miracle, right? Just to see a functional offense. But you’re talking about going against a Raider team that was also really struggling. And Quinn Sean Judkins also ran for two touchdowns. And I think that’s where the 49ers focus has to start. We’ve talking about, we’ve been talking about this Niners run defense all year. And defensive line hasn’t been great, been really banged up, but the second level, guys have been able to make tackles and prevent explosive runs. So when you look at Quinchon Judkins, you look at two things. Yards after contact and explosive runs. He’s 10th in the NFL right now in yards after contact per carry. 3.4 yards after contact per carry and 17th in explosive runs. You look at the Niners run defense. They allow the fifth fewest yards after contact per carry and the sixth lowest explosive run rate at just 9.4%. I think it’s really simple here. Stop the run. Don’t let Judkins don’t Don’t let Judkins go for 100 plus and score a couple touchdowns. Make Shador Sanders beat you. Make the offensive line beat you. Make the receiving core beat you. Right. I mean, obviously he’s in the spotlight. The home crowd is going to be charged up with him out there, but I would much rather the Browns beat me throwing the football regardless of who their quarterback is than I would have in Judkins run me over in the run game. Yep. I I think that’s certainly the recipe that they’re going to go into this game with. On the other side of things, I mean, Cleveland all year long felt like just had one of the best defenses in the NFL. Obviously, Miles Garrett and his season speaks for itself. It’s historic. It’s defensive player of the year worthy. uh feels like we’re well on our way to both of those things. And you know, when it comes to the 49ers and Brock Party, over the last two games, Brock Party’s got five turnover worthy plays and one big time throw. When you look at his passing grade beyond 10 yards over the last two weeks since he’s been back in that lineup, 46.0 passing grade. I mean, like that’s just I I think that Py Party sort of gets this he gets this label as this gunslinger, but I think anybody would tell you like it’s not like he has a great NFL arm. And in fact, I would tell you that Perty has probably the lowest tier of arm talent that you would need to start at the NFL level. What he does is he wins a lot with anticipation. You know, he’s able to uh throw touch passes very, very well. But over these last five weeks, you have seen him put the ball in harm’s way way too easily, especially last Monday against Carolina with all of those interceptions. And even the week before, we talked about this on the review show on Monday. There were a couple of passes where he didn’t have any interceptions, I believe, two weeks ago, but there were two passes specifically where you go, okay, these easily could have been picked off if the defender was sort of in a different situation. I think two guys were maybe there at the same time on one of them and I can’t remember what the second one was, but he has been putting the ball in harm’s way and I don’t love it. I just don’t love how he is seeing the field right now. I think it’s going to make for a much closer game because this is a defense that is aggressive. They got players in the secondary that know how to create those turnovers and and change those turnover worthy plays to actual turnovers, especially when you get the pressure that Cleveland’s able to generate up front. I think this is going to be a very lowscoring type of a game. The overunder of 36 and a half certainly speaks to that as well. And I’m going to go with a number that’s right around where the line is of the Niners being favored by four and a half. I’m going to go San Francisco 17, Cleveland 13. But I think this is an absolute defensive slugfest here. Dton, I I’m with you. I think it could be even reminiscent of a game, I believe it was two years ago, where the 49ers, yes, they went into Cleveland and lost 19 to 17. Now, I’m gonna take San Francisco to win, but I’m with you in Cleveland. This is a very dangerous game. The the Browns can match the 49ers in the run game, which actually hasn’t been that efficient this year. And you mentioned Brock Pery. Of his eight turnover worthy plays this season, six of them have come on passes of 20 or more air yards, six of them on the deep ball. So, the deep ball’s really not working for him. And against a Browns team that plays more man coverage than any team in the league, he’s going to have to make some tight window throws or it could be a struggle. I’m taking the Niners in a very lowscoring game cuz I still don’t believe in this Cleveland offense very much. 49ers 14-10. Yeah, I think it’s going to be 14 to 10. I think it’s going to be a lowscoring affair. It really, to be honest with you, this game really actually to me comes down to Shador Sanders. Now, you sit there and be like, “Oh, that’s that’s an obvious cuz he plays quarterback.” But if Shadore stacks what he did last week and is better, like gets better, more comfortable, hits a couple more throws of 15 or more yards, even again, if it’s just a couple more, I really do think Cleveland’s got a chance to upset the Niners in this game. But it will require Sanders again taking a next step from what he did the previous week. If he’s able to do that, man, I think that they could absolutely get the upset. I I think I think a big factor there too is he’s really been struggling against the blitz, but like the Raiders last week, the Niners have one of the lowest blitz rates in the league. Not a whole Yeah, they just Robert Salah just doesn’t blitz quarterbacks a whole lot, and I would assume he’s probably not going to in this game. He loves believing in his four guys up front that can rush to passer. And against the Browns offensive line, I get it. But maybe Shadur’s got at least some window of opportunity against another team that doesn’t blitz a whole lot either.
