“The Rams Are The Best Team In The NFC & It’s Not Even Close” | Andrew Whitworth Explains

Another rivalry game for me. Rams and Bucks. I know you got to be happy about that one. I’m good. I mean, listen, you know, I’m not going to lie to you, Fence. I I might have sent Spoon a text. I said, “Hey, do you want to rehab that NFC conversation about who’s the best team in the NFC again cuz I’d really love to redo it. I don’t know if we really got a chance to get everyone’s takes out. Let’s hear it again one more time.” Well, we’ll get to, you know, we’ll get to talk about it. We’ll get to talk about it when we are uh have the Seattle game. Yeah, exactly. You know, and and that was the point. You know, my point was is listen, we got a lot of whatifs, but here’s the reality. Strength of victory, point differential. You look at how good the Rams are, it’s hard for anybody in their right mind to say that they are not the best. Now, not whether they will be, but right now, they are the best team in the NFC. It ain’t even close. Uh I think that you look at Seattle, I think they’re a great football team. And as I told you, they scare the crap out of me. I think they’re still probably number two to me. I would actually put the Rams and the Seahawks possibly as the one and two teams in the entire league right now. out to me and I think they look like an unbelievable football team, but the truth is like they lost to this Bucks team. Um, and who who are their big wins against? They don’t have a lot of quality wins. They’ve beat a lot of good they’ve beat a lot of teams. They don’t have a strong strength of victory. Not beat a lot of great teams at all. So, they’re very similar in the sense of yeah, they look awesome. They do, but they haven’t beat a lot of great teams. And the reality is is point that people are going to continue to say about them as Sam Darnold through four picks. Well, you know what? Puka fumbled in their territory. Matthew and Devonte had some huge misses on big third downs that would have put the game away. You know, I think there’s plenty of opportunities there on the first drive there. Matthew misses a throw that would have been a first down for another touchdown. I mean, the Rams didn’t play good is my point. And I’m talking about from an efficiency standpoint. So, it’s not like they played their perfect game and Seattle played bad. I think that the Rams, this performance, and the reason I bring that game up is that to me, this was the kind of performance where after you win a huge game like that against Seattle, most teams have a lull week or they have a week where, oh man, they’re not really firing, they’re a little off, oh man, they find a way to win. For them to come out on Sunday Night Football after a huge win and say, hey, we didn’t play up to our standard last week. We’re going to go show again why we are the best team. and to put a performance together like that, I think they solidified, hey, here’s the reality. Who knows what’s going to end up by the end of the season, but right now we’re the best team in the NFL. Stafford was dealing early. Uh, and I mean the Devonte Adams thing again, we talked to him about it, but it’s like when they get inside the three yardd line, it’s automatic tight split fade. I mean, we for all the young quarterbacks out there, cuz I know we have a ton listening to the Fitz and Wood pod. Look at how early Stafford threw that football. A lot of people like to like wait and see. When you get down there, there’s no time. You got to put it in the right spot. He throws it early. Devonte makes his move. That is chemistry. And they have it inside the three yardd line. They got it down. Even the fade ball or the go ball hits him on like that release. But Devonte, I felt like I felt like that was because of our conversation about Stevie Johnson cuz that looked like a very Stevie Johnson release right there. I mean, absolutely froze him and jumped out of it. And oh man, I mean it it cannot I all I was thinking for that young is like man it cannot be a good feeling to have Devonte Adams in that situation as a corner. Like you just I just I that part that position and I know we we get to visit with Sherman about this all the time. I to me man I don’t know if those guys get enough credit. Like I can’t imagine trying to one-on-one cover these guys out on the edges like that with the freak athletes they are. I mean I I played golf with Devonte Saturday. The guy was even par after nine holes uh at Sherwood. I mean, he’s an absolute freak. Like just a freak. Like I He’s making birdies on Saturdays and catching touchdowns on Sunday nights. Uh you know, if you didn’t feel inadequate enough as an athlete, this guy is just it’s stupid. But then it’s also like, okay, Devonte gets tired. Hey, give me a blow. I’ll be out for a couple plays. Those poor DBs, they don’t come out of the game. There’s no. And then to add on top of that, they got guys like Derrick Henry running at him and they got to dive at his legs and try to tackle him. So, it is a crazy crazy position to play and they’re some of the greatest athletes in the world. Thank goodness that some of them can’t catch. You know, that’s their one flaw. Sherm Sherm Yeah, Sherm could certainly catch. But so, that leads me to the Bucks. Are we saying this was just uh they ran into a buzzsaw with the Rams or are we nervous about the Bucks? And for me, for a couple weeks now, I’ve been nervous about the Bucks. You talk about how they started the year amazing. They had all those cool wins. Um I think they’re they won four of their first five games and those first four wins they won by a total of nine points combined. But it was Baker doing it at the very end of the game and you just felt like at some point that was going to run out. But, you know, Chris Godwin came back, they sprinkled him into the lineup a little bit up. Mike Evans is still out obviously. Um, IA, you know, going from the third receiver, second receiver to the number one. I think that’s hurt him a little bit. He needs some help out there, but oh, it’s been a tough road for the Bucks. They’ve lost three in a row. Here’s the as long as Baker’s left shoulder’s okay. So, I don’t at this point while we’re doing this podcast, I don’t know what’s going on, but they’ve got three home games coming up. Their next three games are home games. They’ve got Arizona who’s 3-8, New Orleans, who’s 2-9, and Atlanta who’s 4-7. So, they have a chance here in these next few games to get back, right? But I just don’t see it for the Bucks this year. They’re saving graces that NFC South isn’t a very tough division this year. It isn’t. And and here’s the crazy thing. you got I think you brought this up a couple weeks ago about the Panthers like is there a chance and here we are. I mean they’re tied up top top to top and Bucks obviously have it right now but they play twice over the last part of the season. So, like the Panthers are right there with an opportunity to go win this division and which is crazy to think because of where I probably put the Bucks, you know, four or five weeks ago in my mind of one of the top teams in the NFC um to where they are now that like the Panthers have an opportunity. If they can go out and play quality football and and steal two against the Bucks, they could win this division, which seems crazy to me to think. Uh but I I’m with you on the Bucks losing team. I I I think that unfortunately, you know, some of the injuries have stacked up. They they were out some of their linemen, you know, for a majority of the first part of the season. Um even Tristan, you know, missed a couple games and then as guys have gotten in and in and out. It just been a lot of changeover from from a staying healthy standpoint. They just don’t feel the same power that they were last year. And then, you know, really the excitement we had going into the year for their football team. Um unfortunately, it’s been one of those years. It’s just been through some inconsistencies, injuries, everything else. Uh doesn’t feel like they’re going to finish the season the right way.

  1. Seahawks let Titans come back with 8 points. Eagles blew a 21 point lead and Rams will be ready for Gibbs and Motown. Absolutely going to win it this year. Even better when it will be in SF lol

  2. Seattle did NOT have their WHOLE secondary vs Bucs. Played with practice squad guys. Love, Spoon, Emmanwori, DLaw and DHall were out vs Bucs which was week #5. LA has been healthy all year and lost to SF with a skeleton crew. I like Whit but pump the brakes on EASILY, NOT CLOSE until LA beats Seattle in Seattle. Tutu will help and LA deserves a huge bouquet of 🌺🌹 but let's wait until week 16. Picking up Forbes was a steal. Bucs got beat by Pats, Bills and then LA. Bucs aren't playing well.

Time will tell and yes, right now LA is #1 but easily and not close are a bit hyperbole until LA beats Seattle in Seattle on TNF.

  3. Lifelong Rams fan that lives in Indiana. Between my Rams and my Hoosiers’ football team, I feel like I’m living in heaven and I don’t want to wake up from this dream. Go Hoosiers! Go Rams!

  4. It’s about time someone recognized the rams just didn’t play a good game against the Seahawks and thinking the next game will be like that is just deluding yourself

  5. They aren't even the best right now. And would lose a rematch to the eagles today. Y'all are so impressed by 21 point wins vs Trevor Lawrence and Sam darnold. Don't buy it. Def top 3-5 still. But not the best. That's funny.

  6. Whitt is a F-ING HOMER, what did you expected his answer to be. The last time I checked they didn't beat the Eagles and GB Packers own their ASS. Whitt said they were going to the SB last year but instead took their ass on vacation to CABO.
