Omarion On Update & Chargers On Prep For Raiders | LA Chargers

He sort of kicked you. Yeah. Yeah. It was it was it was weird. It just I He kicked me right in the ankle. So, it was just a weird play really. Yeah. Did that add to the frustration for you at all that it was kind of this this freak play? Yeah. I mean I mean things happens. Everybody goes through something. So, you just got to deal with it. Just use motivation and bounce back really, you know. How are you feeling now? Like since it was a fracture was sort of something that like once it healed felt pretty good. Is that sort of the situation? I feel amazing. I mean, just being back out there, it feels truly amazing to me. Do you see it as a as a situation where you’re gonna have to, you know, phase back in and and sort of gradually build up, or do you think it’s a situation where you think you could be, you know, full go once you get out there? I mean, yeah. I mean, I hope it’s full go. So, I mean, uh, yeah, that’s the plan, just to get back out there just, uh, I’m just excited for it really. Yeah. I feel like talking to you, you seem to look pretty upset. I mean, obviously, you kind of you kind of know that I was upset. You can call it upset, but um at the end of the day um it’s all about this week, man. Getting ready for the Raiders. Yeah. Did you watch the film as soon as possible after? Yeah, absolutely, man. We watched it on the bus. We watched it on the bus on the way to the plane and watched it a little bit on the plane and so just talked through a lot of stuff and um yeah, corrected a lot of stuff and yeah, just looking forward to this opportunity, this next opportunity. How do you guys use the bow league to address possible concerns? Um, I mean, you could say possible concerns, but it’s just it’s just details. I feel like everything is detail oriented in this league and so just fine-tuning the details um is everything and you got to do that on a week to week basis. Um, it’s a week toe league and um, every week is different and so this week is not just the same. um got to fine-tune the details and be sharp with our hands and feet and just playing uh physical at the line of scrimmage. What’s your biggest takeaway from last game and how do you use whatever that takeaway was to block destruction and block structure using our hands getting our blocks uh and winning uh and winning the battle up front u when it comes to striking and knocking back? Did you feel like it was more of a physicality issue or did you see schematic stuff that they were doing? Hands I feel like hands getting off blocks. Uh you get holes on the inside, you get holes on the outside and so it’s just a matter of using your hands and playing off cut blocks and all that different stuff. So uh yeah, just fine-tuning the details. Run defense-wise, why do you think it’s been maybe a little bit up and down for you guys this season? I just told you. You think it’s the through line through all detail hands, playing with your hands, getting off blocks. Yeah. Simple. I was talking to yesterday, you saying this week because of the offensive coordinator change with the Raiders, it’s kind of like a training camp vibe almost cuz you don’t know. Can you kind of explain how you mentalize that? Yeah, it’s a little bit of that, but you’re still going to get some of the same guys. I know the the left tackle is different this time, but um I mean you can say training camp, but football is football, so you kind of get a sense of what you might have to react to. But all in all, everything we do on defense is reactionary. So just being ready. What uh what was Jesse’s message to you guys when you got back on Monday? Uh sort of kind of the same thing. Um just understanding where we at. Uh did did a lot of reflecting. um watch the film from what game 1 through 11 and just try to figure out what you can get better at and what tails we’ve been giving. You know what I’m saying? Especially from a personal standpoint, what what tails I’ve been giving, what tails everybody else been given. And so, uh yeah, just make sure we fine tuning the details. Is this the Raiders? Do this team you have the most sacks against? I think it’s any team in the league. Like what what makes you get up for these games or is it like I feel like it’s it’s just another game. But um it’s it’s some familiarity there. So you always kind of look forward to that. But um this week is no different than any other week, man. It’s a game that we got to win. So that’s that’s I feel like that’s the reason why, you know what I mean? Especially when you’re playing in this division. We got to got to win these games. These games count as count as two games. Do you think that you do you guys think about this final stretch of the season and like do you think you guys need to find some consistency as you try? Absolutely. Absolutely. That’s that’s been that’s one of the things coach men uh kind of let us know. Um the consistency is the big thing especially on defense. Um, you got to be consistent and um, yeah, I’m just looking forward to the challenge, man. Like talking too much, but like going out and actually doing it and yeah. How was your by week? Amazing. I got some good rest, recovered, got the body right, ready to go. Well, on that note, I’m wondering how you use this week to not to rest, but to not like get the foot off the pedal in terms of your momentum. Uh, just coming back with the right mentality. uh knowing that the by-week over and um knowing that uh everybody body was in a different place. So just having your body ready to go and I feel like uh we’re in a good spot as a team. Guys look locked in, ready to go. Had some great days of practice last couple days. So returning from last Jags game, do you have any like main takeaway? And if so, how does that carry into uh next week? Uh look in the mirror, realize what you can do and what you can get better at. Uh so that’s all that’s always what I do. how can I get better and how can I get other guys better. So that’s what I did. Is there anything specifically that get to the ball? Get get wins. Get to the ball. What was uh Jesse’s message to you guys when he got back on Monday? Uh it was true. It was honest. Uh he told us we had stretches that we’ve played great games, three great games, and then we had stretches where we we’ve not played great good defense. So just finding that consistency, you know, and um I feel like guys just trying to take it upon yourself and make making the plays at practice, making the plays in a walk through to uh get better. Without going too deep into it, when you got there on Monday, were there specific things that he was going through trendwise as far as like here are the areas that the fixes? Yes, sir. And um I feel like uh anything uh the great coaches that we have uh you’re going to do a great job of that, realizing what you need to get better at. uh not not just uh as players, as coaches, as everybody. And um I feel like they did a great job of that, having us prepared before the before the bite and coming back after the bite. With this team, you’re second in tackle in total tackles behind Dion. Is that maybe something that you pride yourself on being able to get to stopping guys? Oh, every time I try to take the field, I want to get the guy down who gots the ball. But, you know, that’s just credit to our defense. Uh we we all try uh express BTB getting to the ball. So, we just trying to get 11 hats to the ball at all times. close out here. You’re facing a team with a offensive coaching change like Vegas. Uh how do you approach that? No. You know, knowing that you could be maybe seeing some different things here. A training camp game rules football kind of like man um just go to your spot, listen to the call, do your job. All right. Don’t try to over analyze what they can be doing. Just go do your part and um I feel like that that’ll help a lot of people. Six games left. Is there is that something kind of you guys don’t have to mention at all? Like you guys know what time it is or Yeah. Six games left. Six Six games to seven games. Uh, so just keep stacking the days and uh keep getting better and uh I can’t wait to go play. When you when you had time to rest over the bye-week, did it sort of dawn on you what a grind it had been, you know, starting July 16th all the way through week 12. Did it settle in at all for you? Uh uh cuz I’m a guy that, you know, I I I work every day, work every day, work every day. And then uh finally, I had a day off where, you know, I just I didn’t have to get up from my alarm one day and then I I realized, like I said, just woke up and just kind of decompressed the body, decompressed the mind, and it felt good, man. Like you say, it it’s a grind, but man, just love being in the grind, love being in the fight, love being a part of it, and uh embracing it really, brother. Gino has been in the league a long time. It’s maybe not having the season he wants to have, but what does he bring as a foe? Uh he’s a pro at the end of the day and uh he’s a professional. He’s a guy that’s going to prepare and each week, bro, you get a different life of your own. So you can have a bad week this last week, but you can go out and prepare the right way this week and go have a good week. So I always I never take anybody lightly. I always go out with the right mentality to try to just go play them all the same.

  1. I hope this rookie isn't an injury prone high pick. Basically his first year is a wash.. so much has to be learned in your rookie season he has a lot to absorb in a short time.

  2. Chargers please win on Sunday I am sick and tired of this bullshit.
Defense cause turnovers sacks stop the run game stop the passing game don't let them get far down the field on kick off stop letting them get past the 30 take them out hit them hard do something we need to win.
Offense Protect Justin Herbert like what is it going to take for you to protect him like that's your quarterback do your job I need this run game to be explosive same with our passing game every offense drive better be scoring to the point JK Scoot is barely out there
