Nashville Predators vs. Winnipeg Jets – Game Highlights

Overall, as a team, I expect to see a pretty feisty Jets team here in Nashville. And we are officially underway between the Jets and the Predators, two Central Division rivals. Delighted to have you with us for this one. And here now is Sam pushing the puck up to neutral ice. It’s Gabe Valardi. Valardi moves in. A pass over to Shaley. Shoots and a stop and a goal from Valardi. And the first line strikes again. And finally, the Jets draw first blood. One to nothing Winnipeg. Well, the last four games the Winnipeg Jets have not been able to strike first and they have caught themselves chasing the game. That changes here on the road tonight in Nashville where they get the first goal. And yes, we’re all looking for some more secondary scoring from the Jets. We’d like to see some other guys chip in, but at this point, nobody really cares as the number one line once again. Connor Desley, the shot, the was high off of Blankenberg’s face. I believe the Mesnikov pushed down and Blankenberg the clear. 40 seconds to go in the man advantage. Two bodies take up a lot of space out there, let me tell you. And here’s Destnikov looking for the puck. Bound by Taves. He wires it on net is denying the veteran Jonathan Taves. He is doing his part, guys. Not not just doing it, but doing it on the road, too. Here’s waits, pulls it back. A pass in front. A great stop from Comry again on Svetkoff. And the puck is underneath Comry now. My oh my. Nashville coming awfully close. Underneath his pads. Crazy here. is going to throw this down to Schaefer who had his first NHL goal, but Luke knocks that out of the air. I mean, he’s going to take it right out of the air and keep that out of going behind him. And there’s Fetchoff who makes the second to Shifley weaving his way connecting with Connor. Shifley a slap shot and that’s stopped by Aninan. Great set of hands and hand eye coordination. That was a great deflection right there. O’Reilly has scored in two straight team high 18 points for him as well as the puck comes out of the zone as Dylan Dlo and now Brady Shay coming in with speed hands it off shooting was wise bloodlad and that was stopped season he was one of those injured here comes neater rider scores coming in with speed on the left wing and and Samberg’s being patient Patient, patient, patient. Then he waits for the breakout, the control breakout. It’s up to the wing, cross the ice to Neer Rider and Nashville never really seems to pick up the speed. Stam Coast misses it. Perix is way too far over to come across and cut him off and comfortable or confident that you can finish it off. And all it takes is one good bounce to happen for you and it’s just all going to unroll. I feel that way about Perfetti. I think eventually he’s going to find a hole in a goalender somewhere. intercepted. Kyle Connor over the blue line, guiding it to Shifley. Shley steers it back to the blue line. A quick slapper from And then you run into people you don’t even see, but somehow Comry tracks that through a lot of people. Yeah, Taves takes down Shay, but no call there. Fetchoff moves in. Here’s Pervix finding space and that’s eaten up by Comry. That pass intercepted. Ryan O’Reilly now set to get back onto the ice as the Predators trying to come in with numbers. A wrist shot. Eric Conry the stop and he hangs on. Plan was to try to move this back and then I’m glad he took the shot. Shay does a nice job of getting it over to him. There was no return back to Shay at all. So take the shot and he looked to try to go up and off that draw. Lowry pokes it back. Shen takes it and removes it from the zone. It’s right on net. Ananinan. Just a matter of time as Valardi comes in to take the draw for Shifley. Top line out there. Kyle Connor shoots. Anan the save and he quickly freezes it with Valardi that he’s going to come right across on his forehand. There’s no way anyone’s going to be able to get to him. Splits through some defenders. Valardi keeps the puck on his stick. Now he finds KC the shot and it’s stopped by Aninan. Stanley wraps it around the boards over towards Kyle Connor who couldn’t get it out. Spencer Stassy pass to the middle. Shot on net. Yost can’t find the twine. Comry. A big stop. Here’s Lowry. He connects with Nether Rider. He already has a goal. Driving to the net. Near rider and an stood his ground using the wall for Betty out there. Now he’s bodied by Hag Taves. Nomesticov. A pass in front and there it is right on Q. Cole Perfetti adding to the lead and it’s three zip for the Winnipeg Jets. Over. Thank you for finding the back of the net. The Jets have played a much heavier game than they played in Washington or last night. They just seem to be getting in on the floor check. They’ve been more physical. They’ve been just attached to that heavy game that they’re so good at when they get it going. And then Scott O’Neal also saying that they’re fighting for their lives and scrambling to stay alive. Here’s Comry making that save and it sticks to him. And we’ve got a scrum here. Blankenberg looks this time over to Holla. Holla cross ice and now a shot and a goal for Blankenberg. [Music] Second unit out there. And it was a bit sloppy. The passing wasn’t the greatest to start with. Then they settle it down. Holla throws this one through the wood and he lays it right back in the wheelhouse for Blankenberg and he just unloads this and I’m not sure if it hits something on the way through or not. We’ll have a better look at it here as this thing takes off. Oh yeah, I think it goes off somebody up in the high slot. Pred’s goalie Jussi Sorrowos. An extremely classy act, guys. Yeah, wonderful way to support those members of the Predators team as the third period. Forsber takes control. One-time from Yosi and it hit Evangelista. He got up quickly. Has the puck and he scores. Luke Evangelista lifting it into the net on a backhander and he puts his team within one into this. Hey does a nice job keeping this alive in the zone and then this one-time feed hits Evangelista. The Yoshi one cracks him on the hip, but he gets up. The puck comes back to him like a magnet and he has been really hot of late. And you look at Shen going in one way by a foul coming back down. And this is one I think Comry wishes he could have had. He goes down a bit early and you see that left shoulder just dip and then it goes straight up over the top of it. What a having a look. Moving to the net now behind. He feeds the point. Knifewist is there. Need a rider centering pass. Blows. He still got it. But the shot was off the side of the net. And now finally Adam Lowry comes out with possession. Dumped in. Alex racing to it and added in. Cross corner dump is going to jump right out. I follow is going to step in. He doesn’t have a lot to work with, but he manages to get his backhand stab on it and he tries to fivehole Anenan and he’s able to shut that down. And then four players in there at the boards. It’s Kyle Connor to an open Luke Shen tease one up. It’s a bouncing punt and they score and the Winnipeg Jets regaining a twogoal lead. A pinball puck. It’s a neutral zone and he’s able to get that pass from Kyle Connor and that’s what gets him into the zone and kickstarts all this stuff down low and eventually it’s a great behind the back pass that goes to Shen. He doesn’t shoot it right away. He waits to shoot it and then there’s going to be a look at this to see if there’s definitely goender interference with Schifle. Evangelista protecting the puck. Quick pass out front. Ryan O’Reilly there couldn’t put it home. Roman Yosi has a look. Faceoff victory for Winnipeg. Puck cleared. Samberg sent it down. I foul on a foot race. He has the angle and it’s off the side of the net. Need rider scores. 52 for the Winnipeg Jets who will finally snap the fourame losing streak. And they have a three-goal lead here. 20.7 seconds left on the clock. Real solid road game for the Winnipeg Jets. You win the draw here. That’s the big thing. The next thing is make sure it gets out of the zone, which they do. Ayafallow gets on his horse, gets down the ice, and he gets there and he can’t bury it. But in close proximity and good support is Neido need a rider and he But at the end of the day, the Winnipeg Jets held out. Got some secondary scoring in this one. Some big saves from Comry and they will walk away here out of Nashville with two points.
