SAINTS EMBARRASSED at Home vs Falcons | Offense COLLAPSES | James Skrmetta Reacts
Saints Falcons recap and review. Ladies and gentlemen, I just walked back from the dome. And honestly, I should have rode a unicycle because I feel like a clown [Music] and got here to the studio. I should have just painted my face, put some big red shoes on, and start juggling because I feel like a clown. I love making these videos. I love getting on here talking to you guys. And I’m not going to lie, before I hit record on this one, I took a deep breath and I was like, man, this team, I don’t want to talk about this team. Like, I don’t want to talk about what I just watched because it was so miserable. What did we just watch, ladies and gentlemen? What did we just watch? What did I just watch? Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined what I just watched for the better part of three and a half hours unfold in front of my eyes. For the last two weeks, we’ve been pushing the chips into the middle of the table on the Saints, on Kell Moore, on Tyler Shuck, on everybody. We’ve been inching those chips closer to the middle of the table. And this weekend, if you watch my videos, I talked about how, man, we’re kind of all in. Like, I’m kind of nervous, right? I’m nervous. This game, I feel like this is the NFC Championship game. And we talked about how it can go one way or the other. And the more the chips got in the middle of the table, the more nervous I got. But I thought, I mean, they’re, you know, Saints are off the buy, Falcons are bad scheduling spot, Kurt Cousins, whatever. And today in front of God and everybody, we went bust is what happened. We went bust straight up. We sat down at the blackjack table and we said, “No way we lose.” 20 minutes later, we’re sitting down in the parking lot drinking malt liquor, begging, begging for someone to throw us some change. I’m at a loss. I am at a loss. I’ll tell you that because this was one of the worst overall. It’s such a paradox the game itself, right? Let’s just look at it. Let’s look at it. So, here’s the team stats. Um, let’s see here. So, 24-10 obviously the final. First down Saints 21, Falcons 13. Third downs Saints 5 for 16, Falcons 3 for 12. Total plays 78 to 55. Total yards 302 to 293. Yards for play 3.8 despicable to 5.5. Uh passing 214 to 188. Rushing 121 to 79. Penalties they had nine. We had four. Turnovers we had two. But that number’s a little weird because of the interception at the end, but also because I think you should count turnovers when you turn over on downs. I think that should be counted as a turnover because it’s basically the same thing, right? You give up possession, they get the ball, whatever. And we had the missed field goals which are basically turnover on downs. Uh the two missed field goals and then we also had the downs on the one yard line. All right. So we have all that but the offense like if you look at Tyler Shuck’s numbers right I’m not saying this is all on Tyler Shook but if you look at his numbers like 30 for 43 243 okay whatever pick at the end it is what it is. But the fact of the matter is we just got blanked. Our only touchdown came from Justin Reed. So we just basically got shut out offensively at home by the Falcons who just gave up 500 passing yards to Bryce Young who are, you know, banged up. They’re tired. They played in Germany then played the F the Panthers and now they’re playing in the dome. We’re rested, relatively healthy. This shouldn’t be a thing. And on the season, we’re averaging 15 points a game. And that average is probably a little bit lower or definitely is a little bit lower because if you can take out like defensive you can take out defensive stuff, right? So, we’re averaging somewhere in the neighborhood of like 14ish give or take points a game. And that’s the problem, right? like we at a certain point we’ve got to look at the results and try and figure out what the hell is going on. Now maybe it’s a little bit of column A and column B. Maybe it’s the roster, the talent level. I mean, at certain points in this game, it felt like last year where Spencer Rattler was throwing to Dante Pettis, who, you know, all of us were trying to get uh Jordan Mims running the ball or whatever. Like this game kind of felt like that where it was I mean Deon Neil had seven targets, right? Like Tyler Shuck had seven carries, Devon Neil had seven carries, Taesm Hill had 10 carries. Taesm Hill was doing halfback dives, you know, like fourth and 15 and Tyler Shuck is doing play action to Devin Neil and trying to find Dante Pettis who ends up getting 14 yards, right? Like this. I think there’s a little bit of that. It’s a little bit of the roster’s not good, the roster’s not talented, the roster’s whatever, but that can’t be all it. So, is it the scheme? Is it the execution? Is it a little bit of both? How much of each? Where do we go from here? But this is as dejected after a loss as I think a Saints fan can feel. We were all allin. We were all all in on this team the last two weeks and it was all leading to this. All right. Win this game. Win the game you’re supposed to and we’re all in. The season’s going nowhere. Win this game. But you lose this game and we’re going to have to ask questions. You lose this game in this manner. And now we really got to ask questions. All right. You get shut out at home offensively off of a buy. What’s going on here? Okay. Weird game as far as like how it all played out with the with the fumble. Like we get a three and out dominant defensively. We get the fumble or we have a fumble. Then the defense does does their job again, right? And then they force a field goal. Then we miss a field goal. Okay. So, first two possessions, not great, right? Two plays, fumble, turnover. Four plays, neg five yards, missed field goal. Basically, a turnover. Not good. All right. Then you miss another field goal. Okay. So, now you are you should have six extra points. So, it should be tied at halftime or you should be down three at halftime. All right. Then you have a 15play 74 yard 7 and a half minute drive where it’s like all right we’re rocking and rolling and you get nothing to show for it. Then you have another 15 play drive 44 yards three points to show for it. So you have 30 plays like 120 yards and over 15 minutes of possession and you get three points. crazy. And then, you know, the defense finally breaks. It’s a second and 24 and then boom, they have two two huge plays and then the game’s over, right? And it’s just like, man, it’s just so hard to watch. So hard to watch this one cuz Alvin going down, I’m sure, was a big deal. Like obviously, you know, I’m sure Alvin was going to get 20 plus carries. I’m sure he was going to be factored in a lot, whatever. But that can’t be all it. That can’t be the whole thing. The whole thing can’t be, “Oh, well, Alvin Kamar was hurt, so you know, it is what it is. That’s not good enough. That’s not good enough of an answer.” I was screaming at the dome. So, this is honey. This is honey uh lemon water. trying to get my voice available for this. But, you know, we got to start asking questions about about everybody, about Kell Moore, about what’s going on, because at at a certain level, yeah, you might not have the horses, but they’re NFL players. They’re your team. You got to kind of scheme them into whatever the race you’re running is. Again, we’re averaging somewhere in the neighborhood of like 14.6 points a game. That probably ain’t going to be it, right? We got to figure something out on third and one, fourth and one, fourth and inches, fourth and goal, third and goal, whatever. At this point, just run forward. Just run forward. do the I I was tweeting out like do the you know the Drew Brees thing where you just take the ball, snap it, stick it over the line. Tyler Shuck 6’5. How can he not do Why are we not trying that? You know the fourth and one with Taesm Hill where he rolls out and throws it. If you’re going to do that, do it with Shuck because if nothing’s there, maybe he’s fast enough to get to the pylon. Taesm’s not fast enough to do that anymore. Why are you giving Taesm one route? You know, like one route to read the play was basically dead. do it with Chuck. If you’re going to have Taesm back there, commit to the run on fourth and one. Just commit to a quarterback power. If that’s the play, that’s the play. But like Taesm running the ball 10 times for 1.7 yards a carry, that’s not the that’s not going to be what leads us to success, you know? Uh I don’t know, man. And like this is one of those ones where it’s like how do we how did we just look that bad? How did that just happen? What all just took place? Now moving forward. Unfortunately, we have to go back to how it was a couple of weeks ago where the team is bad. They are, no doubt about it, one of the worst teams in the NFL, if not the worst team in the NFL. I think I think after this they might be the worst team in the NFL. Certainly in the conversation and now everyone is back on the table for the draft. Fernando Mendoza, Dante Moore, whoever they’re now available. No one is safe, right? No one is guaranteed for next year. It’s it’s now it’s just play out the rest of this year. see what you got in shock and then you make a decision on who were you taking first, second or third overall is basically the is is basically how it works. Like that’s where we’re at and you go from there and we but we need to see a whole lot more from Kell Moore. I need to see a lot more from Kell Moore because I have stuck my neck out for Kell Moore and I believe I love him like a brother. But at a certain point, even though it’s only, you know, even though it’s only 11 games, only three games with Tyler Shook, at a certain point, he’s going to have to turn the corner. All right. Just like a rookie quarterback or rookie running back or rookie wide receiver, whatever. I’m absolutely willing to be patient and give this team time and give him time or whatever, but performances like this, this isn’t it. This is the coaching equivalent of like JJ McCarthy’s quarterback performances where you have a couple, you have some performances like JJ McCarthy does, it’s red flags. You get a by-week, you get extra prep, you’re the rested team, you got momentum, you’re at home, the fans are pumped up, the fans are there, we’re ready to rock and roll, and you don’t score an offense or kick a field goal, whatever. You don’t score a touchdown. What’s going on? I hate it, man. I hate it. I’ll tell you why I hate it, too. Because it was right there in front of us. We win this game. We can go into Thanksgiving happy. We can get at least another week of not the doom and gloom. We can get at least another week of not the just complete just tear it down, sell the team, this guy sucks, this guy sucks, bench this guy, trade this guy, whatever. But now bring it on. You know, I don’t blame you. I don’t blame the rant alerts. I don’t blame any of that. After a performance like this, whatever. Make it the raising raisin Kane super superdome and sell the team, trade players, cut who you got to draft Fernando Mendoza. What? What? Whatever. You know, I’m I as the kids say, as the youth say, you got to hold the L sometimes. And Kell Moore and myself, we’re holding one of the biggest L’s you’ve ever seen. That’s what we’re doing. I I am gener I am at So, this game was when we were down two scores, it was like, “All right, well, we’re not going to win this game.” So, I’m sitting there and watching the game and I’m thinking like what is actually the problem, you know, like I I wasn’t I wasn’t I wasn’t watching as like a fan like rooting like all right, get a stop, we can score, get a stop, whatever. I was watching really just trying to figure out like what actually is the issue? What is the problem? Because we were kind of moving the ball, you know, like like I showed you, we had third we had two 15 play drives. One ends up on the one yard line. The other one kind of ends up on the one yard line, then it gets backed up and we get the field goal or whatever, but it’s like we’re moving the ball, but we’re not scoring, but it’s also hard to move the ball. And then Shuck will have a couple throws where it’s like, well, that was a good throw. And then he takes a sack or something where it’s like, well, he kind of held the ball along there. But that’s not, you know, it is what it is. The defense played pretty well. There was some big plays that happened, but overall I thought they played okay. And then you then you look at the big picture and it’s just the worst thing you’ve ever seen. You know, like the big picture is, well, damn, we just got basically shut out at home. We had 3.8 yards of play, which is horrible. What just had we had basically had five turnovers, right? We had two missed field goals. Two missed field goals and a downs. Is that what we had? So, basically five turnovers. Let’s see. One, two, three, four. We had four. Well, I mean, the last one was fourth and 15, but so we basically had six turnovers. It’s a tough one. It is a tough one, ladies and gentlemen. But it is what it is. and we will unfortunately be covering it all week long. Maybe I just go into political satire. Maybe I just start talking about like city council meetings and potholes or reviewing restaurants or movies or books or something and and maybe that maybe this football thing’s for the birds. I don’t know. You know, maybe maybe maybe we just do something else. Maybe we start talking about do we just turn this into a Derek Queen channel? I don’t I don’t know. But we’ll be covering it this week. But let me know in the comments below. Get on down there. I know it’s going to be ugly. Have at it. Have at it. This team deserves it. Kell Moore deserves it. The play I mean, this was not This was about as bad as it gets. So, let it rip in the comments below. Go over to speakpipe.com. Have your voice be heard. Uh there’s a link in the description below. Go to uh SpeakPipe. We’ll be reacting to those voice messages all week long. Call in. Let me know what you think. Hello darkness, my old friend. It don’t get any uglier than this, ladies and gentlemen. All right. Thank you for watching. Thank you for the support. I was sitting at Aaron Rose before the game and a guy came up, shook my hand, said he appreciate, you know, watch the channel, all that stuff. I always appreciate that. So, thank you all for watching the support, all that stuff. This has not been an easy season. And last year wasn’t an easy season either. So, we’re getting through this. We’re getting through it together. Some weeks are easier than others. This is one of those bad ones. So, crank it up. Rant alerts all week. Ladies and gentlemen, I will see you in the next video. Peace.
The New Orleans Saints just delivered one of the worst offensive performances of the season, and James Skrmetta is breaking it ALL down. In this video, James reacts to the Saints’ brutal 24-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, a game filled with frustration, missed opportunities, and shocking execution issues from start to finish.
Kirk Cousins — stepping in for the injured Michael Penix Jr. — threw 2 touchdowns, including a dagger 49-yard bomb to former Tulane standout Darnell Mooney, helping the Falcons snap a 5-game losing streak. Meanwhile, the Saints offense once again failed to score an offensive touchdown, despite Tyler Shough completing 30 of 43 passes in his first Superdome start.
James dives deep into:
• How the Saints’ offense completely collapsed
• Tyler Shough’s performance behind a struggling O-line
• Costly mistakes from Blake Grupe, Alvin Kamara, and the Saints’ play-calling
• Why the Superdome crowd showered the team with boos
• What this loss means for Kellen Moore, the fanbase, and the rest of the season
If you’re a Saints fan, an NFL fan, or just trying to figure out what the hell happened in this game… this is the breakdown you need.

playcalling is atrocious too
i mean get out a dang brown paper bag and put it on your head. we suck
why werent any saints fans on bourbon?
After they took out rattler for shough I lost hope
Normal football. Any team on any Sunday…
Release grupe today
Finish the year and release taysom and AK. I think it’s safe to say it’s time to move on
Shough is still showing the goods. Yes there are some things to clean up in his play, but I really like what he's putting on tape. The problem is the o line & these bizarre Taysom packages. They just don't make sense. Shough & Neal are getting it done, despite the rest of the team around them, & we decide to completely pull the plug on them?? Don't even get me started on Grupe. Kellen needs to take a long hard look in the mirror this week
I’m tryna think what make ppl think this team has a chance to win, what cause! we got a decent win against Carolina. Dum sessa
Kellen Moore problem
As someone who lives in nc and doesn't have access to saints daily talk thank you for your show and efforts. You and Ross have been my go to during this season even if it's been depressing
Grupe Has to go! an Ellen Moore has to follow him I’ve seen enough an No that’s not a typo on his name
It all boils down to the o line. No time to throw.. no open holes. Then on top of that.. missed fg and dropped balls. Can't win like that.
Saints major issue is they have the worst interior offensive line in the NFL. Meaning they can't consistently run the ball, especially in obvious running situations. Playcalling in the redzone has been questionable, but when you can't power into the endzone, it makes red zone efficiency terrible, because the passing lanes are going to be even smaller when teams know the run game is not a threat.
It’s 11:39am Monday The saints Are working out with Kicker Justin Tucker!!!
This is absolutely the lowest point since the 3-13 Katrina season.😢😢
They need to fix the O-line – not being able to pick up 1 yard time and time again is killing any progress we make on drives. I knew this was going to be a rebuild year, but my expectation under our new offensive minded coach was to see progress and some innovation. We are not seeing much of either yet. Silver lining is we will get some higher draft choices that can help fill in the gaps, but we need a line that can block better in both the run and pass. Improvement there should allow better options for the offense to score more touchdowns and finish drives.
What y’all don’t understand is we only have one legitimate wr in olave 95% of the oline was all back up players, Kamara got hurt. So stop trying to blame this on anything other then that that is the only reason we lost this game
Plus Kellen Moore is a garbage play caller
He’s a great play designer but he’s terrible at calling the right play against defenses
These wrs we have are not legit starting caliper wr period there just not no coach can scheme player open when there skill level doesn’t allow them to get open I mean use common sense if they don’t have the skill set then they don’t have it no amount of scheming is going to make them have the skill set
Also the only ones who looked bad on this game was the oline even the receivers looked ok this falls soley on the oline nobody is onboard for these bum ssa qbs bro you overreact so bad I mean be serious man. Tyler Shough is our qb through next season at least. Tyler Shough in no way shape or form played bad
Bro stop saying Tyler has to turn a corner because he didn’t play bad name one bad play you can’t stop trying to put this on Tyler dude
For the rest of the season can we cover a saints rebuild on madden instead
Worst team in the league ⚜️
U have backed kellen moore & im gulilty also. It took dan cambell 3 yrs when he got to that mess in Detroit to turn it around. Id say are mess is probably worse than the one he was in. This lost just hurts extra bad cause it was the dirty birds & cause we did play a good game in Carolina. I myself hated the fact that we had a bye week after tyler 1st win, id rather carried the momentum into the next week
We've won 2 games, we're passed embarrassment.
Kellen makes virtually no adjustments and his play calling is mad questionable at times. Not sure he's built for this. You scheme for the team you have. Not the team you wish you had.
Starting to question what Kellen Moore even does. All he does is stare at his play sheet and he draws up QB power with Taysom Hill?
We’re officially the laughingstock of the NFL! 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
Please reference the Jim Mora video of Diddly poo to learn more about my disappointment!
Yall said it was Rattler fault 🤔🤔🤔
“Go back to how it was” dude they won one game and you were all in. Nobody that had a brain thought the franchise was fixed after one win you just are blind
What made this game even worse James is that Drew Brees was in the booth calling it.
The OL has to be addressed next year, Moore is trying to be too cute with his O, Hill is not working; is it the OL line or he just doesn't have the juice anymore, 2 missed FGs, fumble, 2 missed TDs on the goal line, that's 20 pts instead of the 3 they got! Yeah that's a recipe for disaster. Not complex.
😂damn aleast rattler ain't giving up on no throws n still came back lost td or two but he play good against best defense this year he proven he can do whateva it takes passing it's good just need running game
Saints have no talent to market…none…its bad its terrible….and this kid coach is an absolute doink…..get another hobby….its like staying with that job u hate…..find something else to do….quit…u don't have to get punked every weekend…..this sewage leak is so rotten ….your eyes burn…..like what could be more miserable….watching this Gayle Benson Mickey Loomis Horror Show or being in the swamp eaten alive by mosquitoes …its laughable….its funny and number 51 continues to play for the Saints….their draft picks have just been horrendous…its a dumpster fire…..I would be humiliated as an owner…the coach is way over his head and was a terrible pick yet again and again and again and again…just a dumpster pit
Our team has a severe lack of talent right now, set up by our salary cap issues and previous years of playoff runs or attempted runs where we prioritized winning over rebuilding. We are in the stone ages and its gonna take a couple seasons to climb back. Lets hope we have 2-3 more wins we can get this season, learn what we need and go find it in the off season/draft.
JAMES YOU ARE A CLOWN… RISE UP … Keep the Falcons out your mouth CLOWN . worry about MICKEY and your pathetic so called team.. BELT TO @SS… LOL>> RISE UP https://www.youtube.com/shorts/bqVGnzrtlzc
