The Chiefs Might Actually Miss The Playoffs
I do not think Kansas City’s I think Kansas City the dynasty part is over. It’s and I’ll give Kansas City all the credit in the world. They may win a Super Bowl, but I think their division’s too good to be a dynasty. Let me paint you a picture that was genuinely unthinkable just 10 months ago. The Kansas City Chiefs, the team that won three championships in five years, the team that was so close to becoming the first franchise in NFL history to three peak, are now sitting at 6 and six with a 46% chance to make the playoffs. And honestly, it might be even worse than that. After losing to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving, Patrick Mahomes was asked about what the Chiefs need to do from here. And his response tells you everything you need to know about where this team is mentally. Yeah, I mean at the end of the day, you just got to win got to win every game now. I mean, and and hope that’s enough. Hope. Patrick Mahomes is now talking about hope. This is the guy who’s made a career out of making the impossible look routine. Hell, he even had a diving pass yesterday that looked impossible to try to bring the Kansas City Chiefs back and win the game. The man led the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history against the Eagles in 2023. And now he’s hoping. So, in this video, we’re going to discuss what the hell happened to the Kansas City Chiefs. And even more importantly, is the Kansas City Chiefs dynasty over? Real quick before we get to the content, we’re giving away a jersey of your choice to a subscriber that turns on their notifications on this channel. We’re doing the same giveaway on my Instagram page. You just have to follow me on Instagram and turn on your notifications there. And just comment on any of my content or on this video what jersey you’d like. We’ve been having so much success on prize picks with the NFL picks that I’ve been giving you on this channel and on my Instagram story and of course the Discord server and my W link in the description down below. I’m going to give you another pick in this video, but real quick to sign up for prize picks. Make sure you use my promo code microphone to get $50 when you make a play of $5 or more. Or you can just click in the link in the description down below and then take this twoman because I am certain it’s going to hit. I have Shador Sanders getting at least 175 passing yards versus the San Francisco 49ers and Drake May getting at least 246 passing yards versus the New York Giants. As you can see, Drake May has easily cleared this in his last five games. If you put the $50 that you get from my promo code on this play, you could turn it into $200 if both of these plays hit. I give additional plays on my Instagram story and in the WP link in the description down below. And thank you Prize Pickics for sponsoring today’s video. Mic check 1212. What’s going on everybody? To understand how wild this situation is, you need context. The Kansas City Chiefs have made the playoffs every single season since 2015. That’s 10 straight years. That’s not just good, that’s historically dominant. The only quarterback in history with a better playoff streak early in his career was Tom Brady. But here’s where it gets really interesting. The last time the Chiefs missed the playoffs was 2014. That was Andy Reed’s second year in Kansas City. Alex Smith was the quarterback. Travis Kelce was a second-year player who’d barely gotten on the field. Patrick Mahomes was a freshman in high school. Let that sink in. Mahomes has never experienced a season where the Chiefs weren’t playing in January. And yet, as we sit here today, the Chiefs are ninth in the AFC standings, not just out of the division lead. They’re currently on the outside looking in at the entire playoff picture. The defending AFC champions, the three-time Super Bowl winners would be watching from home if the season ended today. Everything changed on February 9th, 2025. The Kansas City Chiefs walked into Caesar Superdome in New Orleans with a chance to make history, win that game, become the first team to three in the Super Bowl era, and Patrick Mahomes would cement himself as the greatest quarterback of all time. Andy Reid would become the undisputed greatest coach of his generation. The dynasty would achieve immortality. Instead, they got annihilated 40 to22 by the Philadelphia Eagles. And the score actually flatters Kansas City because two of their touchdowns came in garbage time when Philadelphia had already put the game away. The Eagles jumped out to a 34 to nothing lead in the third quarter. Cooper Deene got a pick six on his 22nd birthday. Mahomes got sacked six times, a careerhigh. He threw two interceptions in the first half, both leading to Eagles touchdowns. Travis Kelce didn’t catch a single pass until late in the third quarter. After the game, Mahomes owned it. Um, credit to the Eagles, man. They played better than us from start to finish. We didn’t start how we wanted to. Obviously, the turnovers hurt. And I mean, I just got to I think all the players for that. I mean, just those early turnovers swing the momentum of the game and then they capitalized on them and they scored. I mean, they scored on one and then they got a touchdown immediately after. those 14 points um that I I kind of gave them and it’s hard to come back from that in uh in the Super Bowl and so um just didn’t play to my standard and I have to be better next time. That Super Bowl loss wasn’t just a bad game. It exposed everything that was wrong with this roster. The offensive line got absolutely manhandled. The Eagles rushed just four guys most of the night and still generated constant pressure. The pass catchers couldn’t create separation, and the defense, which had carried this team all year, finally broke under the weight of short fields and constant pressure. So, the Chiefs entered 2025 determined to prove that the Super Bowl was a fluke. Mahomes talked all off season about coming back stronger. Kelsey admitted that he’d gotten distracted and needed to recommit. Gee, I wonder what may have distracted Travis Kelce. The organization made moves to address the offensive line. Everything seemed set for a revenge tour. And then they lost to the Chargers in week 1 in Brazil on international television. It was the start of a nightmare. A week later, they played the Eagles in a Super Bowl rematch. This was supposed to be their redemption. Instead, Philadelphia beat them again. And it’s not like Philadelphia has been dominating their opponents this year. Yeah, they have a good record, but I’ve always said that the Philadelphia Eagles of this year are very similar to the Kansas City Chiefs of last year. not taking anything away from them, but there were a lot of games that they came close to losing that they ended up winning. But in this game, Mahomes threw a red zone interception that got returned 41 yards and the Eagles sealed it with multiple tush push conversions that left Chris Jones absolutely fuming on the sideline. The Kansas City Chiefs were 0 and2 for the first time in the Mahomes era. Now, here’s where it gets fascinating from a statistical perspective. Since the NFL expanded to 14 playoff teams in 2020, only 11.9% of teams that started 0 and2 have made the playoffs. That’s basically a death sentence for most franchises. But these are the Chiefs, right? They’ve always found a way. They rallied to 5 and three and look like they were back on track. And then the wheels completely fell off. They lost to the Bills at home, then to the Broncos, their division rivals, in devastating fashion, falling to 500 at 5-5. A last-second overtime win against the Colts kept them alive, barely pushing them to six and five. But then Thanksgiving happened. The Dallas Cowboys, my Dallas freaking Cowboys, who were 35 and one just a week ago, who had been counted out of the playoff race entirely, who just traded away picks to get Quinnon Williams because they were desperate. I want you to understand, I looked at the Dallas Cowboys schedule one week ago and I said, there is no freaking way the Cowboys aren’t making the playoffs this year. I mean, they were 35 and one. They got to face off against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Kansas City Chiefs, then the Detroit Lions, eventually the Los Angeles Chargers. I pretty much put a bow on this season and was grateful that we were at least trending somewhere after trading for Quinn and Williams. But those Dallas freaking Cowboys hung up 31 points on the Chiefs. And honestly, I think we might need to make a video on how they defeated the last three Super Bowl champions in a span of 4 days. But you guys can let me know in the comment section if you guys want a video on that. I don’t know if you guys are ready for me to go full Cowboys dulu. This year is our year, but I I got to contain it. All right, let’s get back to this video. Look, Patrick Mahomes played well. 23 of 34, 261 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He even had 30 rushing yards by any normal standard. That’s an incredible game from your quarterback. But here’s the stat that tells the real story. Before that game, Mahomes was 12-0 in his entire career when throwing four touchdown passes. Bro, 12-0, undefeated. He never lost when he played that well until Thursday. The defense couldn’t stop Dak Prescott when it mattered. CD Lamb went for 112 yards. George Pickkins made circus catch after circus catch. And then in the end, the Cowboys scored 31 points. And here’s the thing that should terrify Chiefs fans the most. They’re now 1-6 in one possession games this season. Last year, you remember all the memes about this? The Chiefs were 11 and0 in one-score games. People were calling them frauds because they were just consistently getting lucky in these one-sore games. Or so we thought. The magical ability to win the close ones, that clutch factor everyone talked about is completely gone. The same players, the same coach, completely different results. So, what’s actually broken? Well, let’s start with the second best player on the Kansas City Chiefs, Chris Jones, because his decline might be the most alarming development of this entire season. Jones signed a 5-year, $158.7 million extension with $95 million guaranteed before last season. He was supposed to be the anchor of this defense for years to come. Instead, he has just three sacks through 12 games. That’s on pace for his lowest total since his rookie season in 2016. His QB pressure rate has dropped from 12% last year to 8.1% this season. His quick pressures are down from 26 to just 9. His pass rush win rate has cratered from 18.8% 8% to 13.4%. And Andy Reid was asked about Jones and gave the most diplomatic non-answer you’ll ever hear. I think we all need to do better. Chris is always striving to do better every day. Bro, that’s coach speak for Yeah, I think we have a problem. The defensive line problems go beyond Jones. Felix Anudik Uzoma, their 2023 first round pick, suffered a season ending hamstring injury before the preseason finale. Omar Norman Lot, a second round pick this year, tore his ACL in October. The depth is gone, the push is gone, and opposing running backs are having field days. James Cook ran for 114 yards against them when the Bills came into town. And then there’s Travis Kelce at 36 years old and clearly a little distracted, if you know what I mean. He’s clearly lost a step. He started the season with 59 receptions for 719 yards through 12 games. Solid numbers on paper, but he’s nowhere dominant force that he used to be. Last year, he had just 823 yards and three touchdowns. His lowest total since his one-game rookie season. Multiple evaluators have noted he just doesn’t get open like he used to. And his Super Bowl performance, four receptions for 39 yards, was one of the worst of his playoff career. Travis Kelce admitted in the offseason that he’d let things slip, saying, “I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them. I got a bad taste in my mouth on how I ended the year and how well I was playing.” He even dropped 25 lbs this off seasonason trying to recapture his speed. But at 36 years old playing tight end in the NFL. There’s only so much he can fight against father time. The offensive line has been another disaster. First round pick Josh Simmons, their supposed answer at left tackle, has been away from the team for weeks dealing with the family situation. Jawan Taylor has been in and out with injuries. He hurt his ankle against the Bills and his elbow against the Cowboys. On Thanksgiving, both starting tackles left the game and didn’t return. Mahomes is running for his life back there and it shows. And then there’s the uncomfortable conversation that nobody wants to have. Is Patrick Mahomes actually declining? His numbers this season, 3,238 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions through 12 games are still incredible. His passer rating of 93.6 is great, but there are warning signs. His completion percentage of 64.5% is the lowest of his career as a starter. His deep ball accuracy has been inconsistent. He told reporters flat out, “I’m just not making the throws. That’s pretty much the biggest thing. Guys are getting open and giving me the chances to make the plays down the field.” He’s become noticeably more conservative, too. His average depth of target is down to a career-l 6.4 yards. The gunslinger, who used to launch bombs to Tyreek Hill, is gone. Now he’s dinking and dunking, trying to survive behind a broken offensive line while his weapons can’t create separation. The magic feels different somehow. And here’s something else that we need to talk about. The AFC West has become very dangerous. The Chiefs won nine straight division titles largely because the Broncos, Chargers, and Raiders were either rebuilding or incompetent. And in the case of the Raiders, it’s clearly both. That time is over. Jim Harbaugh has the Chargers playing elite defense. Shawn Peyton has turned the Broncos into legitimate contenders. Denver is currently leading the division and is competing for the conference’s top seed. So, here’s where it gets real. The Chiefs are sitting at six and six with five games left. Home against the Texans on Sunday Night Football, then home against the Chargers and then at the Titans, then home against the Broncos on Christmas Day and at the Raiders to close the season. Three of those are AFC West games with massive implications. The math says they’ll probably need to go 4- one or 5-0 down the stretch to feel comfortable about their playoff chances. The Texans game next Sunday is essentially a must-win. If they lose that, their playoff odds drop to 18%. At that point, we’re talking about genuine crisis mode. And remember, they’ve already lost head-to-head against the Bills, the Jaguars, and the Chargers this year. Those tiebreaker losses could haunt them. Here’s the thing. Dynasties don’t die all at once. They erode. The Patriots didn’t wake up one day and stop being good. It happened gradually. And honestly, it really just looked like they took a four or five year vacation because that dynasty is back. But typically, key players get older, the supporting cast gets weaker, the competition gets better, and eventually having the greatest quarterback of this generation isn’t enough to overcome all of that. The Chiefs are watching that same movie right now. Chris Jones at 31, clearly declining. Kelsey at 36 potentially in his final season, an offensive line that can’t protect anyone, a salary cap that’s squeezed from all the contracts they gave to their stars, and a division that finally has real competition. So, is the dynasty over? Maybe not officially, but something’s definitely different. The team that never lost close games is now losing all of them. The quarterback who always found a way is hoping things work out. The defense that carried them is getting pushed around. And for the first time in a decade, the Kansas City Chiefs look mortal. And in a league where everyone’s been chasing them for years, that’s blood in the water. The next five games will tell us if this is just a rough patch or if we’re watching the end of something special. Either way, I’ll be covering every single moment of it. Now, if you think the Kansas City Chiefs situation is a disaster, you should see what the Minnesota Vikings did with JJ McCarthy because that could potentially be the worst quarterback decision in NFL history, and I am not exaggerating. I’m going to leave a link to that in the end screen. I’ll meet you guys there. Aside from that, I hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving with your families. I’m your boy Mike, and I’m dropping our mic until our next upload.

Respectfully request Kansas City Offense Jersey. Thank you
Greatest Super Bowl comeback in history? Are you high? 28-3 is the greatest comeback in SB history.
You literally remind me of a mix between early south park officer bar Brady and Scott malkinson with your extremely annoying pitch in your voice. It's like you're always confused and yet always trying to adhere to a wikiHow or how to get more 8-18 fans. God you are so cringe compared to literally any other YouTuber who covers sports I just can't even pinpoint why. You should probably just block me from your channel.
Mahomes was a freshman in high school in 2014? This man mike just makes up shit and we give him views and money. Its kind of sad actually..
Chief suck
Just wanna drop this little stat on in here… In all THREE of Brady’s Super Bowl loses the combined point differential was only 15 points… Enough with comparing a very elite qb to the legitimate greatest of all time.. And my man just got complete amnesia when it comes to Super Bowl 51… 28-3 bro
I’m a believer! Our BOYS ARE BACK! I need a jersey to help with the year end momentum. I feel some magic in this team. Over 30 years bottled up.

Clearly a cowboys fan or engagement farming . Did you forget 28-3?
Do you have something against Tom Brady? Lol
It is strange seeing The Chiefs on the Ropes like a hurt boxer trying to stay up and fight
All he does is repeat the same thing over and over. Unfortunately we listen.
28-3 was the greatest combs o in Super Bowl history and I hated Brady
