This is a good read. The writer perfectly captures whats hidden from basketball observers and the human aspect of an NBA player.

I know the rational thinking people that visit this sub are sick of the shitty and ridiculous takes and discussions that seem to flood this sub about the team and the players.

I have seen some doozies too. Such as the FO should trade Jaren and Ja and then build the team around Edey. One went as far as to blame Ja’s slump on his shoes. Just ridiculous.

Instead of appreciating these players, their contributions to the team, and them working to create good chemistry, because that’s what has been missing, we have folks that want to blow it up and start over again. Just ridiculous.

Enjoy the read.

  1. It was a good read. I liked where she wrote, “Iisalo’s offense does not revolve around individual dominance. It revolves around rhythm, trust and shared responsibility,” because I think that sums up how role-players are quicker to settle into the system, but guys who have spent their entire careers as stars might resist change because they’re being asked to do less individually. If it all comes together, it could be beautiful basketball.

Also, Jock Landale is probably the loudest cusser on the team, and that’s saying something.

  2. Jock is like X. A third option center who can be counted on to play a bigger role. Great signing

  3. Jock has grown on me.

Jock is in a really valuable position IMO. You take a look at other 3rd string bigs in the league and they’re mostly bad. Like they do nothing but screen kind of thing. Jock isn’t bad. He’s not good either but he’s actually pretty useful in a lot of different regards. He’s also not okay with losing and will consistently make a mental flip in his head where he changes how he’s playing.

My point is like- Jock is actually rare and valuable as a **3rd big**. He’s in a REALLY good sweet spot where is cheap and efficient at whatever small 1mil contract he’d get. Like which 3rd string big (that you know is definitively 3rd string) is able to step up and drop 20+ points. Answer is like just Jock Landale.

We don’t want to end up with a Bismack Biyomobo. He also doesn’t seem likely to become a legitimate 2nd string big, so you can almost count on him to stay at this 3rd spot.
