How ex-Seahawk Justin Britt found himself through running

>His first run came after his nine-year NFL career abruptly ended in 2022. The former Seahawks offensive lineman stepped away from the NFL due to sudden depression and anxiety.
>After the day he left the only sport he had known, Britt was feeling empty and searching for what was next. He found it, as he says, “on accident.”
>Britt, searching for an outlet, remembers his wife Alicia, a former cross-country runner, encouraging him to go for a run.
>“My first run demolished me,” said Britt, 34. “I didn’t even make it a full mile before I tapped out.”
> After that run in the summer of 2023 he didn’t go on another one for nine months. He doesn’t remember what led him to his second run, but he lasted over two miles on that one. He said he ran every day after that until a 5K (3.1 miles) became routine.
> An ambassador for this year’s Seattle Marathon, Britt has used his platform as a self-made running social media influencer to share his story and the benefits of running. And though you might not recognize the slimmer and speedy former lineman at first glance, the throwback No. 68 cutoff Seahawks jersey he plans to wear should help.
I met him a few times through work, he was such a cool guy. I was sad when he left the Seahawks and always wished him the best.
I have been following his journey for a while. He’s such a great dude.
I would love to see him put 99 in his place
Man the hawks fan base was so tough on Justin before he became center
This dude is just great all around. He looks like he’s in fantastic shape post career too. Insane that he’s that shredded from running and he’s still 265. Freak athlete.
He follows me on Strava, NBD.
If you look at his insta he’s still a big Seahawks fan and repping them.
Hes retired and done but said that he would only come back if it was with the Seahawks. I respect it and love that former players still rep us.
