and and kept us in it and uh you know we we got some some contribution from different guys with the lineup as far as the goals. So um it was a big win. We’ll we’ll we’ll take the two points. Yeah, you must feel nice for guys like Nino and Cole uh to get some of that secondary scoring you’ve been looking for, right? Yeah, exactly. I mean um you know we got so many guys who have, you know, produced offensively for a long time in this league and guys are going to go through sort of ups and ups and downs throughout the course of the season. So, um, you know, just got to continue to push through and and work at it and, uh, you know, it’s, uh, it’s going to come as long as we continue to do the right things and and compete and go to the net. And, um, it was it was great to see some guys get rewarded tonight. Did you think, uh, like I did that maybe you had that goal or did you know Kyle got a stick on it, uh, in the third there? Uh, no, I didn’t think I had it. I I don’t know who had it and I was just hoping it counted. I know there was a little bit of, uh, you know, a little action around the crease there and luckily it went our way. So, um, yeah, just grateful that, uh, you know, able to contribute and and, uh, like I said, just awesome to get the win. Yeah. What’s that been like? You sat out a few games, but you come in, couple assists, uh, few big hits, uh, obviously made an impact on the game. Uh yeah, I mean obviously no one likes, you know, being out of the lineup, but you know, you take it and um use it in the right direction to work on some things and, you know, was able to work on some things sort of after practice with some of our coaches and um yeah, just uh you know, it’s it’s not the first time uh throughout the course of my career where, you know, there’s been a little bit of uh rough water, so you just want to be resilient and when you get the when you get the call again, come in and try to help the team win. How do you like the physicality of your team? You threw a few big hits. Logan, Adam, Morgan. I think there’s a long list of uh big hits. I guess you know that’s probably the style needed against a Nashville team. Well, I think it’s needed against everyone to be honest. I mean, obviously some teams are a little more physical than others when you play, but shouldn’t really change our identity. So, I think guys did a good job of, you know, like you said, being physical tonight. uh guys getting in on the body and you know the big hits are obviously awesome but just overall um you know getting in battles getting your nose over the puck and winning battles and you know plays on the wall and for checking and going through guys. So uh yeah I think it was a a contribution you know uh throughout the lineup tonight when you look back on your time with Nashville what kind of stands out about that period for you? I mean you know the first year was awesome obviously you know we we uh had that crazy stretch. I don’t know how many games we won in a row or didn’t didn’t lose, I should say. I don’t know if it was 16 17 games or something. 18. There you go. Uh so that was that was something that stood out where we were, you know, kind of down and out and uh able to grind back and have a have a run like that was pretty incredible and just how that building, you know, gets behind the team here and, you know, we’re able to get to the playoffs and unfortunately lose in the first round, but just sort of that whole uh stretch drive that we we were able to put together that first year and obviously there’s been a ton of turnover here in the last couple years and um yeah, I mean uh move on. So what’s it like to score one kind of streaking down the wing and unloading a beautiful shot that kind of picks the corner? Yeah, I mean obviously definitely felt felt feels really good obviously getting a goal like that and like I said I mean goals hasn’t come easy lately so it’s a it’s a great feeling when one of those goes in. Yeah, I mean obviously secondary scoring has been a big story line so you get one. Cole who had a million chances again he gets one and uh what do you think that maybe does just for the confidence of everybody? I think it helps a lot especially like down the lineup. Obviously, we’re trying to play the right way and uh then things end up being in your own net. So, you get more and more frustrated and tonight it was definitely great to get a couple couple goals there from the the depths. You have the coach last night saying, you know, some guys maybe didn’t show up on time to start the game. Obviously an expression, but um that sounds like the coach maybe challenging the group. Do you feel like you guys were challenged and that you responded to that challenge? Yeah, absolutely. I mean, obviously you want to always start right from the get- go and right now we’re just a little little fragile group and uh I think it’s just uh obviously the the win tonight is definitely huge for our for our team, but I mean once you’re fragile, you’re just trying to kind of feel get the momentum going and glad we get on the board early. Don’t have to chase the game when it comes to that. But at the same time, like I said, it’s one win, we got to go to the next. I think uh I talked to you a few weeks ago about playing former teams and you said you always get it’s always a little extra special to score against a team you played for. Safe to say anytime you get to come play in Nashville, it’s it’s a special game. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, at the end of the day, I mean, obviously they uh they signed you in the offseason and they shaped your way a couple couple months later. So, it’s a I mean, obviously that’s just part of the business. Things are how they are and uh but same time, like I said, I’m in a happy place right now and we have a good team and so everything happens for a reason. Just one about your goalender. Uh it’s a tough spot. Both Eric and Thomas have been put in obviously filling very big shoes in in Connor. What do you think about Eric’s play today? I think he’s done a great job. Both of us, both of them done a great job for our team. And obviously, you’re not going to replace a a goey like Halabak, but at the same time, they did their great job and uh they try to do whatever they can to be successful for our team. Yeah, that was obviously a really good first period and uh get out in front like that, especially up two nothing, you’re not chasing the game and put some pressure on the uh the home team. So, um liked a lot of what we did, our battle, our compete, that type of stuff. We talked about I thought throughout our lineup that um you know, there was there was one-on-one battles happening and we were winning a lot of them and that’s that was big for us. There’s been a lot of talk about team speed. Do you feel like you guys played faster? You look faster as a team today. I think that’s execution has a lot to do with that. I think when you are, you know, working to get open if you don’t have the puck, but then, you know, the whoever’s has the puck making the direct making a quick play. I thought we did it fast. Coming out of our end, we weren’t waiting to, you know, sort of be uh, you know, waiting for the next best play. We were we were moving it quick and, you know, then the transition helped us a lot. I’m not sure anybody’s had more chances without being rewarded than Cole. So, for him to get that goal, I think he even kind of flubbed the shot. So maybe wasn’t his his best shot, but it goes in and you know, you got to feel good for him, right? Yeah. No, everybody you I think old bench there, everybody jumped up on that one. It great play. Uh you know, JT getting in on it first in the east west behind the net at the Vlatty and um you know, like we said, if you’re not scoring goals, make sure you get close to the net. And it’s exactly went right down the down the hash marks and however it went in, it went in and it’s a little bit of relief for him. What do you think of Luke Shen’s game today? The two assists, a lot of physical players. Yeah, you know what? obviously and played a few games and um that’s what you like when you’re veteran guys when you’re you know they’re pros when they can step in and uh play like that and not to sort of miss a beat and we needed it you know both his physicality but also he made made a great play on Nino’s goal the rink wide and then obviously you know we had talked about you know Dman getting pucks to the net front and that’s what he did on on KC’s goal he got it down there and allow that that to happen so when guys can step in like that that’s it’s a big bonus couple more I imagine also feel pretty good for your goalender who you know gets his first win as the quote unquote starter for your team. Yeah, you know what, Comm is there for us. He’s he has uh you know he’s always gives us a chance and again tonight when the heat kind of went up there in the third period uh again he was big and that’s uh that’s what we need and um you know I think that uh the guys really enjoy playing in front of them and if we can give him some run support like I’ve often talked about it certainly makes his job a little easier. and you know the temperature of this team. So what can a win like this do? You still got a long road ahead. Yeah, it’s one it’s one we wanted to win one in a row and so that’s the first one and now we got to move on to uh Buffalo and you know the the biggest thing for us is the lessons that we learned of not being consistent with our shifts and periods. Now it’s being consistent with this game that we played tonight that that’s how we play in Buffalo. Sorry, I just wanted to check did Vlatty have to go to the protocol and he obviously cleared he came back and scored. Yeah, he makes the but little surprised to see him back as quick as he was. You uh No, he did the full thing, so I’m not Yeah, I mean I don’t know. I haven’t had to do it yet. So, I had to get through it. So, thanks. I know. Thank you. [Music] [Music] Do it. [Music]
