I think I kinda tried to articulate this in a comment on one of your articles recently — about how the toews line suffered because 9/10 times they were on the ice with Stanley and Schenn who just can’t get the puck going the other way. They get completely bullied by a forecheck that pressures them into making a pass under duress.
I also noticed that the jets just outright conceded the neutral zone and even the offensive blue line last night a number of times where last year they would have gapped up and pressured. I don’t know if that’s a lack of trust, an abundance of caution due to lack of foot speed, trying to stop those odd-man rushes that were eating them up alive but it’s not a winning strategy imho..
I like salo. I hope he is given the opportunity to make mistakes and learn from them.
