OILERS TODAY | Post-Game at SEA 11.29.25

[Music] The Edmonton Oilers collect two points here at Climate Pledge Arena with a four nothing victory over the Kraken. The Oilers were led by their special teams as they managed to kill all six penalties and add two goals on the power play courtesy of Ryan Nan Hopkins and Zack Heyman with his first of the year. Dry Cidle and McDavid added two goals at even strength, but it was the kills early on that really elevated this group to success. Um, I mean, staying within our system, trusting it. Um, trying to keep things outside for sure. Uh, and then like like I said, uh, you got to rely on him sometimes back there and, uh, he did a great job, but yeah, I thought we were just trusting our system and working together. Uh, yeah, I mean, we just kind of I think we were just really focused on our our own details. um not too much of what they were doing and just kind of you know being in the moment and being able to read off each other really trust each other and I think you saw that tonight. Well uh the you know special teams were outstanding tonight power play and pelling kill. The pelling kill we had a lot of kills especially early in the game and um a lot of um just a lot of good reads. Uh I thought everyone was on their toes any loose pucks they were attacking and there there were some chances. Of course, there was going to be some chances and uh Stu made some big saves. And of course, their best penalty killer was Steuart Skinner as he made 26 saves, including a crucial one on a Kraken breakaway in the second period. This win marks his ninth shutout of his NHL career. Yeah, I mean, just steady right from the get-go. Um I thought we we controlled the pace early, but we took some penalties um that obviously you need your goalie to be kicking on the PK. So, uh, he did a great job with that and then that kind of fed into his five on five game and made some big saves saves when we need him to. Yeah, I think it was good. Um, I was able to play a solid game. Um, I thought you saw that from everybody. I think this is one of the games where we were able to, you know, play a really solid 60-minute game. Really good. I thought, you know, it’s tough the other night, you know, giving up four goals and eight shots, but I’m not sure he could have had any of those the way that we played those in front of him. And tonight he just let it all go. He didn’t uh worry about what had happened. Uh thought he had a couple of good days of practice and yeah, just looked really calm, composed in the in the net tonight. The Oilers now head home for a five-game home stand that kicks off on Tuesday night at Rogers Place against the Minnesota Wild. For Oilers TV, I’m Paige Martin. [Music]
