Draft capital boys

  1. We are going to trade 3 1sts for Mendoza no matter where we are picking. And we will be back right here at this comment 3 yrs from now for the next one. So… enjoy rhe wins when we get them

  2. He kicked the game winner against Indianapolis is what he did. He was a brave jets kicker and in this house Nick folk is a hero! End of story!

  3. Any Jets fans being pissy because they won and want a higher draft pick are the typical sad sacks who find any reason to say “woe is me, I’m a Jets fan”.

It’s one thing if it’s a lost year under a lame duck HC like Adam Gase that you know is gone after the season. But for a first year HC and GM, if you aren’t happy seeing actual growth from both in the job and how the team is performing, then go fuck off lol. They aren’t winning these games on fluke plays, they’re actually playing complete games for once.

  4. It doesn’t have to be Mendoza.

And while I like Mendoza… he’s not a surefire franchise QB.

Meaning if you have to give up massive capital to trade up to get him, that’s a huge risk.

We aren’t talking about Elway, Aikman, Peyton, Eli, Luck, Burrow, etc.

QB’s go 1st OVA just about every year now.

    They haven’t all been great.

You can get a great QB at another pick besides 1OVA.

And if the QB you like isn’t there, fine.
    Don’t force the pick.
Kick the can down the road.

Now… they can’t do that forever.

But… forcing the pick is stupid.

Id actually be more concerned with a coaching staff’s ability to develop a QB than I would about who they draft and how high they draft one.

  5. It’s more than just winning here. This team is able to come back when down and stay in the game. That is the big part, learning how to finish games

  6. Seriously. Draft position dweebs fuck off. AG needs to grow the culture year zero and get wins. Trust the process.

  7. To all the people listening to moronic so called draft experts in this sub, please remember this sub had an upvote party celebration because the Bills drafted Josh Allen.

  8. The top of the draft at least in terms of what’s been seen on tape and on paper is not great.

Could some prospects end up great or HoF’s? Sure. But there’s no stand out QB’s or players at any prime positions that go top 5-1] (QB, OT, Edge/DT, etc) and certainly no consensus on them. This is arguably significantly worse than last year (25 Draft), which itself was considered a down year for top 10 prospects.

This isn’t a year where you’re winding up between Peyton, Luck, etc or nothing.

  9. Saving this thread for the idiots in the future who are going to celebrate wins against bad teams when we are already eliminated from the playoffs

  10. I want the jets to keeping winning because A) losing sucks and B) jets should NOT draft a QB in 2026, so if the draft pick drops out of one of the top guys then GOOD

  11. I enjoyed the win mostly because it reduces the value of the third rounder gifted to the Eagles for Reddick.

  12. I get the draft concerns causing mixed feelings, I feel them too. But how can you NOT derive ANY enjoyment from seeing our historically dogshit franchise look half competent and eke out a win on any given Sunday?!

As I see it, if we lose enough games to get to pick 1 or 2, then yes, we’ll have a QB, but will we have any confidence that the QB has a team good enough to lean on and grow in? Probably not. If we win a few games at the end of the season, we might not be in QB position come draft time, but it’ll likely be because A) Mitchell and Metchie continue to show that they’re capable and GOOD WR2s and WR3s B) our defense is still promising even without Q and Sauce and C) our team is playing hard and refusing to quit on a lost season, which speaks volumes about our coaching staff and the team’s buy-in (especially in comparison to the soft ass behavior we saw under Saleh).

ANOTHER thing to consider is… we have a dickload of draft capital to trade up. Now I get it if people think neither of these QBs are worth trading up for, but if this staff DOES and they’re CONFIDENT that Mendoza or Simpson could be the guy, then I won’t be upset. At the same time, if they aren’t, then they won’t trade up and we’ll still have all that capital to build with. How I see it? We’ll play how we’ll play and we’ll pick where we’ll pick, but regardless of either, we have the tools/capital to get what we need next April.

  13. This draft isn’t super exciting .. I’d rather stack some wins and build on it. 1st round picks are first round picks

  14. I want a higher draft pick only because I’m 47 and I want to go to bed right after the Jets pick so I want that pick to come as early as possible.

  15. I mean, realistically when we hit April or May and the hype for many of these QBs begins to really reach its peak, we aren’t gonna look back on these wins fondly because it happens every year. Every year that we don’t have the main guy under center, we lament the fact that we don’t, but there’s obvious evidence as to why we don’t have our guy. People are going to forget these wins and talk about how we should’ve lost games like this.

At this point, the only thing that could really save us from not giving up a bunch of our picks, is if Dante Moore declares and we have three options. I think if Dante Moore declares you’re going to see a lot of people who initially thought the 2027 draft was the one to pick from change their tune.

Realistically, Mendoza, Simpson and Moore are all just as talented as any player that’s going to come out in 2027 if not more. Arch is good, but I don’t think he’s the second coming of Peyton like people seem to think. Sellers is complete trash who people have fallen in love with because they have beer goggles on. Sayin is playing with the most expensive toys and the most talented wide receiver group on the planet. Like, who am I missing that will be in the 2027 draft? If those are the guys that you’re gonna hang your hat on… then I don’t know what to tell you because they’re not better than the three of Simpson, Moore and Mendoza.
