Nov. 26: Postgame Interviews
Yeah. Um, you know, we could have started a little better, but found a lead after one and, um, you know, then started to really build our game. Had a lot of looks, weren’t able to find it. And, um, yeah, you know, another, you know, heartbreaker in overtime. So, we got to find a way to start winning these. Fun to see what Jordan Bennington was able to do, especially earlier in the first period for you. Yeah, I mean, the first five minutes he made some incredible saves. um really kept us in the game and even throughout the game there was there was many moments where uh we needed him to make a big save and and he gave us a chance to win tonight. Tell us a little bit about your goal was quite a shot. Yeah. Um you know just was was able to find a lane around the Dmin and you know that’s pretty much it to be honest. You had some chances but how big was the four-minute kill that they had there? Yeah. Um you know gave them a lot of momentum. Um, you know, that’s a a big spot in the game where um, you know, we’d like our power play to come through and um, yeah, I mean, I think there was what, 10, 11 minutes left when they got the penalty. So, um, that’s a big moment that uh, you know, we’ll be kicking ourselves for not capitalizing on. Cam, how would you uh, characterize this one tonight? I mean, yeah, we fought hard, gave ourselves a chance. um disappointing to uh to have that result, but I thought our guys dug in and um played for one another and gave ourselves an opportunity against a good good hockey team. What would you say about how Jordan Bennington played tonight, especially there in the first period? He was great. Yeah, he was um kept us in it. Um first period we didn’t didn’t have our legs and he made some big saves to keep us in the hockey game. So, he was incredible and um he deserved uh a better fate than what we gave him, but um you know, we have confidence in both our goalies and the way that they um can impact the game and and Ber certainly did that tonight. How would you characterize the road trip overall? I think some some positives and then um some things that we can learn from. you know, our our guys are fighting for one another and um we’re trying to to stack some points up here and um you know, it feels like we’ve been gone for a long time. So, it’ be nice to get home and see our families, but um you know, it’s nice to spend some time with one another on the road, too, and and go to work and play for one another. So, um I think that’s starting to come naturally to us and um you know, proud of our guys for digging in at the the end of a trip here. Monty, how do you characterize tonight’s game? Well, um, you know, our first period we’re up 2-1, but we, um, actually, I thought the doubles outplayed us. We weren’t intent. Too many turnovers, weren’t physical enough. I thought we started to do that the last two periods. We only had five turnovers in the second. Thought we generated a lot of offensive zone time. Were unable to finish. Um, but we had a lot of good looks. Dmen were active. Um, and it continued in the third. you know, we didn’t take advantage of the four-minute power play, unfortunately, to extend the lead, but or go ahead, I should say. Did uh Bennington keep you in it there in the first period. Looked like he had quite a first. Yeah, he was excellent in the first period. I mean, maybe three half breakaways and then uh you know, a couple of one-times that he just read really well and a couple of shots through screens. He was excellent. We he deserved a better fate than you know, the two goals only that we got him. You shook up uh your your four lines. Did you like what you’re able to generate? Um uh you know the at times yes, at times no. You know it just um we’re struggling to get inside and get quality chances, rebounds and stuff. You know, you talked about the the four-minute power play. Just how big it, you know, at that point of the game is it to I think you had six shots on goal there, but you know, couldn’t couldn’t get one by. Yeah, I mean it’s, you know, um we did have good looks, you know, it just uh we just didn’t generate the the finishing chance, you know, and some of that is um you know, we got to make um the one extra play or maybe we need to be a little more selfish and shoot. Monte, how do you look at the uh road trip overall? A very competitive road trip. Um we we we’ve improved defensively. Um offensively still um not nearly hard enough to score consistently in this league. A lot of time on the road. You looking forward to getting three three at home now? Yeah, it’s always uh great to go home to our great fans and get in our building where it rocks.

sigh….
A+for effort boys more of this please with the wins
Robert Thomas has taken a big step backwards this season in my opinion.
I thought dude was headed for a 100 point season and representing the Blues on the Canadian Olympic team this year.
Much of that has already gone out of the window. I thought this dude was a number 1 centermen and the future captain of the Blues.
All that is in question now in my opinion.
I think once Brayden Schenn is gone the captain of the Blues should be Jake Neighbors. People complain about Jordan Kyrou, but for me this dude has been the most disappointing player on the team this year without question.
How about parking #55 in front screening on PP
Too much perimeter play, too much over passing when shots on net are needed. Lack of skill requires a more physical game which this team seems unwilling to do.
Time to move on and bring up some hungry kids
Doug Armstrong it is time for you to do something, anything, PLEASE?
Every post game is three same. Trades are a coming. Too bad it's going to hurt the team more long term.
Need to trade Doug Armstrong and make Steen run it with having interference.
So many questions. Why is 55 not on the PP with that devastating shot? Why does Bjugstad get kicked out of 7/10 face-offs? Why is Faulk a defenseman? Why is chipping the puck away for a turnover better than maintaining possession? (Scoring normally requires possessing the puck) Time to put the A on Walker. About time to stitch the C on Thomas, trade Schenn and a 1st for another right hand shot. Bring in new assistant coaches with fresher ideas.
This team is miserable
Tired of the bullshit after game interviews. The reporter needs to ask tough questions. Thomas-no fire in his belly. These guys are lame
