Construction incompetence is a globalize issue.
I feel like we here this story every time a large sporting event is taking place in an area where they need infrastructure. Olympics, world cup, etc. it’s always doom and gloom but then manages to work out. I assume they cut corners knowing all it has to do is hold games for 2 weeks then generally not be used again
Been a while, but IIRC there were similar issues in Sochi?

Doesn’t really surprise me, back when we got tickets a couple months ago, we were already joking that the Italians might screw this up with their timeline
Backup plan is they play it in Switzerland one would think
Assago Forum could be an option, it had ice for figure skating worlds in the past and for a figure skating event in February. Worst case scenario Turin is a short drive away and still has the stuff from 2006 Olympics. But it being this close is just the most Italian thing possible
The backup plan is Turin. They won’t admit it because the local politicos were so anti sharing with Turin that they put their speed skating oval in their convention center instead of using Turin’s oval, but the backup plan has to be Turin. The IOC isn’t going to tell a sport to just stay home this time and Turin is a lot closer to Milan than the places they’re holding the Curling, ski jumping, etc

How does this even happen. They were awarded the Olympics in June of 2019. You’d think that would be plenty of time ro build an arena capable of hosting hockey.
I bought tickets for my 6 year old and I. Went through the whole passport process. It’ll be his first international trip. If they can’t figure their shit out, he will be crushed.Â
I was checking out the official website to buy tickets a couple weeks back. There were many tickets for preliminary round games especially for non competitive teams. Now I am searching and cannot find anything besides hospitality packages.
Seems unlikely every game is sold out. Hoping its a glitch and not a sign of them pulling back from hosting the event in Milan.
My search which returned 0 results if you the search excludes hospitality packages.
Breaking news. Olympic Ice hockey event rescheduled to July.

I am waiting the opening of the reselling site in december to sell my tickets. I hope there will be a competition somewhere..
They have facilities that will do across the border in Switzerland.
There is precedence in another city, even another country, to hold one Olympic event.

The Equestrian was held in Stockholm instead of Melbourne.
The reason is due to Australian laws in relation to quarantine. The laws are still strict but not as strict as it was then – Sydney was able to hold the Equestrian events in 2000.
Just play them in Vancouver
