Pre-Game | Ryan Huska – 30.11.25

Here we are in Carolina. Coach, just uh perhaps speak to the the desire to carry on the momentum you built over the past 45 48 minutes or so on Friday. Yeah, well, we do want to of course keep building. I mean, that’s important for us. We think our teams played much better here over the last little while and this um this afternoon’s game is going to be a little different challenge for us because this is one of the teams that really pressures hard. Um and it hasn’t been something that you you see a lot of. they’re kind of the one team that plays it throughout their their game. So, we have to make sure we’re ready to start the game. And um when you look at our last two games, it’s probably an area that we know we got to be better at. You’ve talked pretty much all season about how you’ve liked the way Joel Farby’s been playing. You know, now he’s got five goals in his last game, five games, gets the milestone Friday. Just how nice is it to see him getting rewarded for the work he’s been putting in? Uh I it’s nice cuz he he’s a player that really stuck with it. And that’s something that’s important and we try to pass that on to the rest of our players as well that if if you’re doing things the right way and you’re continually getting chances, eventually they’re going to go for you and they don’t always have to be pretty. Some of them are going to be ugly goals, but they all count and that’s important thing. So it’s nice to see them get rewarded. But I think more importantly, I do like the way that line has looked and and I think with Naz and Joel in particular, um they’ve developed a little bit of chemistry here over the last little while. And um since we put Sharon Govich on that line, um to me, he’s playing some of his best hockey of the year as well, too. So, there’s a lot of things that are going well for that line and we need need them to continue to do what they’ve been doing. You speak to the challenge in front of you today. What challenges do the Hurricanes present defensively just given the fact that they are a high shot volume team? Yeah. Uh well, you know, there’s that for sure. I mean, they do get a lot of pucks to the net, but I think the biggest challenge is getting used to having to execute and make plays under a lot of pressure because that’s the way they play the game. They try to uh force teams into mistakes and then they are a good rush transition team from that point and um once they get into the offensive zone, as you said, there’s a lot of pucks that are coming to the net. But to me, it’s all about making sure we’re ready for the first 10 minutes and and ready to be able to execute under that pressure.
