Things just took a MAJOR turn…
The St. Louis Blues have completely flipped the script after coming off two huge wins this weekend, just being mirror points out of a wild card spot. This has fans absolutely buzzing and so does Justin Carbono as he continues dominating the QMJHL. And we have so much to break down in this episode, including what the St. Louis Blues are currently doing, flipping the script completely and an update on fan favorite Justin Carbano. They have so much to break down and you’re not going to want to miss it. So dear, let’s just go straight in and I think we should go straight in on Justin Carbono to start. Now, Justin Carbono, a human highlight reel. We see this constantly tweeted by everyone going in on just speaking on how good Carbono has been and looking at the numbers. I mean, the guy is tearing apart the queue. 21 goals in 21 games, including 30 points. Darius, before we get into some of these insane stats floating around and what is your thoughts on Carbono and how he’s developing as a player? Well, my thoughts on Carbono never change. He’s absolutely fantastic and I mean he’s putting the rest of the league to shame and keep in mind the CHL has changed drastically overnight to this season because of course there is the new rule with the NCAA and a lot of players, you know, seemingly jumped overnight and a lot of teams lost up to 15 players in the league. It is a little bit different, but there’s still a lot of really good players and, you know, drafted players, drafted eligible players in the league, and he’s making them look so bad in this year’s season, of course. Uh, he has 30 points in 21 games so far in the league. And I mean, he’s just ripping it up in terms of goal scoring. That is his game. We know he can score. He’s a new age power forward. That’s kind of what I’m talk, you know, calling him this year where if you think back to the early 2000s, a power forward was like a 6’5 or 6′ 6 player who would come around and throw the body around and maybe crash the net. I I think it’s changed a little bit. He still does all of those things, but he’s a little bit smaller than 6’5, right? So, uh, he but he still plays the same way and he’s very effective at doing that and he knows how to use his body to his advantage. So, my thoughts never change on Carbono. He’s electric. I can’t wait to see him at the NHL level as he continues to develop. I just want to see how far this goes, like how many goals he can score this year, how many points he can put up. He’s going to be on Team Canada’s World Junior Team. I I mean, there’s no world where he’s not. So, that’s going to be interesting to watch him against some of the other top prospects and a lot of guys coming back from NHL uh rosters as well for that for this year’s tournament, which is going to be very interesting. So, we’ll see how that plays out as well. But, I think he’s unbelievable. And I think the big thing is looking at Justin Carnau and his development, we’re seeing him second in the queue in goal scoring. You can see everyone above and below him have extra games played. What we’re seeing out of the pick that came through in St. Louis looking like a steal at 19 and I know a first round pick, but seeing him develop what he can bring. We can see what people spoke on him. Elite prospects going into saying an Agrade. Looking at his skating, which is good. We know the shooting is incredible. His passing can get better, but the puck handling is insane. What we’re watching out of Justin Carbono just shows the future of this team. Listen, you have a lot of great prospects throughout the system. Otto Stenberg looks great in the AHL and we’ve seen the stints of him in the preseason. Adam Urech’s another name that we’ve seen in the OHL. Listen, I can’t even keep talking so much. I’m loving the prospects on this team. But listen, we’re going to see a lot of these guys going through in the World Juniors. And listen, who do you think is going to win? Is there someone in this blue system fans that you think could come out with the tournament MVP? Let us know down in the comments. But this goes straight into the second part of this where the Blues have kind of flipped the script completely. Darius, listen. We know they’ve lost a couple games. They’ve blown a couple of leads. But looking over this past stretch of seven games, the St. Louis Blues have got a point or two in six out of the seven games. Listen, no pun intended there. But the biggest thing is we know these games right now mean a lot for the Blues. is seen Doug Armstrong speak himself and say, “Hey, the players, how they’re playing is dictating on what we’re going to do.” But what is your thoughts on the Blues coming off a big win versus the Utah Mammoth who are in a wild card spot and just the overall stretch of these seven games? Wait, Mark, you mean to tell me that they played last night? I thought that was a default one- nothing win as a part of a buy one get one free on a Black Friday deal, but no, they played fantastic this weekend, right? And you pick up two big wins against a pretty good team in the Ottawa Senators. Honestly, Utah has been very good this season as well. And you can see Broberg to Holloway. That was the only goal of the night. One thing I also noticed about the win last night, they were wearing their jerseys from last year, which is now their alternate jersey. And we’ve been talking about how much better they are in those jerseys. If you look at the impact score chart, again, you have your usual suspects in terms of, you know, positive impact. You have your usual suspects in terms of negative impact as well with Logan Mayu at the bottom. But listen, it’s a one- nothing win. Somebody had to end up at the bottom in terms of negative impact. and I don’t think it was that bad. You didn’t get a goal scored again. So, they’ve been really good and like you said, they’ve been dropping a lot of games in overtime and it’s been disappointing. But, you’re picking up those points along the way and now that you pick up two big wins here right after Doug Armstrong came out and said the play is going to dictate which way we’re going here. They’ve kind of flipped the script a little bit and they’re only two points out of a wildcard spot at this point. So, you can sell off if you’re Doug Armstrong at this point. The league is so upside down this year. Teams are so tight. like playoff teams are going to have maybe 90 points this year or something like that. It’s insane. There’s so much parody in the league. So, I feel like you have to stick with it now for a little while. And we were talking about how this week and next week were going to be crucial ones, right? Like depending how this goes will dictate where they’re going to go and how much longer they’re holding on to certain players. Well, they’ve been picking up points, right? And the last two games they have played pretty well. There are still some issues with the team, of course. We recognize that and then they’re on the outside looking in, but you can’t deny the fact that they’ve picked up some valuable points the last little while and they’re still definitely in the mix. So, I think it’s hard for Doug Armstrong to pull the trigger right now. But, if they came into this week like we were talking about and dropped a couple more games, then you’re looking at it like, all right, it’s time to pull the trigger. But, they just can’t yet. So, it’s going to be interesting to see how long, you know, this goes for. But, if they continue to pick up some wins, then you’re back in the race and everything’s fine. So, we’re still going to have to see how the next week or so goes because I think Doug Armstrong is making calls trying to figure out kind of what’s on the table right now, which way he can go, but I I still don’t think he can make a decision one way or another with what’s happened over the course of the last week and a half. And I think the big thing is you’re exactly right on that. This is the team that we’ve seen time over time. We’ll keep saying it like a broken radio going in. We’ve seen 2019, we’ve seen last year. This team can go on a run. And listen, I do want to highlight this from the game last night. There is no uh discipline coming to the Blues as well. We’ve seen Logan go down and it’s just been a tough couple days for Logan Koulie. We want to give a shout out to him knowing that he’s healthy as well is big. But the big thing with the Blues going forward is two points out. You get a win and you push yourself up there. You have a win versus the Mammoth which gives you more leadway. If they have the extra point, you need to win two to get into this position. So, it’s nice to see the Blues continue to fight and Darius. Listen, we’ve spoke about a bunch. There’s trade rumors on this team from every player that we’ve seen. This is going to happen when a general manager is looking at the league and saying, “Hey, we might change things.” You’re going to get calls on absolutely everyone. But looking at the team as a whole, you want some players to step up. We know we want Logan Mayu on the power play. BCH needs to get going a little more. This is a team that has a lot of great talent and once again, we talked about it quite a bit. This was a team that got better this off season. Do you think this is just a situation where it was a rough start? We see a lot of teams have a bad start. The Florida Panthers, due to injuries, are not in a playoff spot after winning two Stanley Cups in a row. Do you think this is where we see everything completely flip and this team just goes on a bit of a run to get into that spot and the narrative completely changes? If there’s a team that has a history of doing this, it’s the St. Louis Blues, right? So, I I feel like, you know, a lot of fans feel like they could still get this done. And we’ve been talking on the channel how they should absolutely still get this done and make the playoffs. And I predicted them to make the playoffs this year. The division is hard, right? And I I didn’t really say that they were going to be top of the division or anything like that, but I do still think that they can make the playoffs. So, it’s going to be interesting to see what ends up happening cuz I I think I started to get frustrated the last couple weeks, too, as most fans are. And, you know, we see you guys in the comments. It’s hard to stay positive sometimes when you continue to lose games in these heartbreaking fashions and your goalending is not good enough, and then sometimes it’s just the defense isn’t good enough, you can’t score, stuff like that, right? It’s it’s been a season like that and they’ve been dealing with injuries. But if this is the turning point, I I it really wouldn’t surprise me honestly because they have a track record of doing this. So again, we’ll see how the next week and a half goes at this point. I think Doug Armstrong kind of put his phone down for the weekend and enjoyed what happened. But I there is decisions to be made here, but I I I feel like, you know, what’s happened the last couple games, it’s hard to make that decision because why would you ever sell off now just being two points out of a playoff spot. You win a couple games, you’re feeling pretty good. So it’s uh it’s going to be interesting the next week. And I also want to give a huge shout out to the Edmonton Oilers for giving us both these guys that we seen connect on this goal last night. But fans, what is your thoughts on the current Blues? Do you think this is the turning point? Do you think this is a bit of a hot trick? What would you do with this current team? There’s so many people talk about so many different things. So let us know down in the comments. And speaking on comments, we’ll go in the comments today. Praco isn’t going anywhere unless they have another Broberg we don’t know about. And listen, if they have another Broberg, Doug Armstrong is going to find a way to get him. And we’d love to take him on. Not for Praco, of course, cuz we’re going to keep this guy. Let us know all your thoughts down in the comments and you could be featured on comment of the day. While you’re down there, leave a like, subscribe, share this with your friends. We back another episode. So keep your eye for that. your host Mark with my co-host series and take care

It’s the jerseys bring them back we haven’t lost a single game this season in those jerseys please pin me
As long as they’re in the playoff mix Armstrong will keep this group together.
I wished they could have kept Carbo, but they better make a spot for him next season.
Time for a Duck Hunt
The work ethic has definitely changed they are all working and grinding very hard for each other. Now we need more offense from all of the 8 million dollar players LGBLUES
Bad News Blues
Carbo. Will not mature playing with players in this calibre
Parayko Should be put on a power play in front of the net screening the goalie , he would drag two defensemen with him crowding the front
Both teams checked close last night, but there were still a lot of scoring chances by both teams. Both goalies played well, ours was just a little better.
Just gotta keep it going. If we can keep the energy up we can make it
no sell sell sell they barely beat 2 stugling teams. the best thing we can do is sell some older players for high prices and get draft picks for a deep draft
he 'll get his chance at the end of season unless we blow things up sooner.
Not sure we “flipped the script completely”,
But I do like how we held on to that lead and especially killed the major.
The most impressive stat we have is how often we are scoring first. It’s Kindof insane. If we can keep that up but then add some finish, we may have a chance.
Why do the Blues act like the cardinals… Keep young stars down too long and ruin them.. We see other teams playing 18 to 20 year olds and they are super star players on their respective teams yet the blues clearly shy away from that while its something they need desperately..wtf.
Even though the numbers don’t show it, both goalies have been playing better. Keeping them in the game each night with huge saves
Carbineau should be if not one the team then ready to be called up
Case and point malloux.. Should be playing every game but they treat him with kid gloves.. Ffs he is young and wont look great every game but putting him in the minors literally does nothing for his game..
This team has the talent, no doubt. This is definitely a mental fuck in their heads. Leads to bad defensive plays then in the back of the net.
