Been a Packers fan for a while, and I legit cannot remember the last time I was THIS excited for a Bears/Packers game.

I don't know what this says about me as a Packers fan, but I like it when our rivals are good… or at least competent*. It makes games a lot more exciting, it makes wins that much more enjoyable, and takes the sting out of losses that little bit more.

So yeah, the Bears seem to be for realsies this season, and I am super pumped for this upcoming game between them.

*Vikings are the exception

  1. You must not be old enough to remember the NFC championship game then. This may be the biggest one since

  2. I love that it’s the big national 3:30 game instead of SNF. It’s my favorite time slot for a huge game.

  3. Feeling pretty good. Nervous but fuck it, its the Bears.

If the MLF from turkey day shows up, we should be in a good spot. reed coming back maybe?

Rest of the recieving core need hands ready to go.

Plugging up the middle and run game will be harder with Wyatt out. Might have to cheat on that so hoping the secondary is ready too.

Force williams into bad mistakes and score points. We are more than capable of winning.

  4. As a bears fan and a football fan, packers games mean the world to me ever since I started watching football. I have a huge respect for your team, and I always see these games like a barometer of where we’re at as a team.

I want to beat the packers when they’re at their best. I want our games to always be competitive. We’ve been able to win games, but they were in cases like Rodgers hurting his collarbone the first 2013 game in Lambeau, or the interim Philibin filling in for the fired McCarthy in. The 2nd 2018 meeting. I want to beat the packers fair and square. That’s why any packers game on the bears schedule is must watch TV as a fan.

Memorable Bears Packers games that come to mind:

2010 NFCCG, Was basically 1st grader, watching a full football game for the first time and watching how downs and distances work, as well as sacks and pressures. I personally didn’t bad, but frustrated we couldn’t score. But your team, especially Rodgers and Matthews, deserved that trophy against the steelers.

2013 Week 17, 4th grader, 1st season watching all Bears games seriously. Really thought we had a chance. 4th and 8 td to Cobb that will always scar me. This loss hurt more than 2010.

I took a break from 2014 to 2017 from watching the bears specifically, so I didn’t pay attention much to the implosion under Trestman, the split from Cutler, the Fox years, the fact we did beat Green Bay in that Farve celebration Thanksgiving game, and the Trubisky rookie year.

2018 Week 1, 1st season back to watching bears games fully after taking a break since 2014. Packers 100 anniversary. Khalil Mack dominant debut. Rodgers hurt but returns and breaks our hearts again to Cobb.

2019 Week 1, another hyped game. 100 anniversary of Bears and the nfl. 1st Packers game with Lafleur. Believed bears can do better after the 2018 dominant season. Turned into growing doubts about Trubisky and Nagy, and the fact Lafleur has what it takes to be a great coach unlike Nagy.

2021 SNF game, Fields’s first game at Lambeau Really fun game and Bears had exciting tds but Rodgers and co prevailed.

2022 at Soldier field, Another fun game. Fields had a long run td. But Packers prevailed.

2023 Week 1, Soldier Field. First game between Love and Fields. First game with DJ Moore. Really thought we had something. Turns out we see Love as a soon to be great qb and Fields as not that guy.

Both 2024 games. Really fun games. Caleb Williams with his moments. Love with his. Both games ending with high blood pressure, by the kick of Cairo Santos. One that broke me for being blocked. The other that made me proud for going through. It means something to beat the packers for the first time in a while.

  5. This is the best defense the Packers have had in ages and on the other side this is the best Offense the Bears have had in ages. We’re in the upside down

  6. I will be flying back to Chicago (en route to WI) from Taiwan when the game is on. Going to be investing time during the next week to ensure I can watch the game on the plane

  7. I can’t tell you how hyped I am for this. It’s been awhile since I felt there were legitimate season deciding stakes this high. It’s gonna be an insane game.

  8. The Packers have historically dominated the Bears since the 90’s… The upcoming games are really going to set the stage for all the years of the packers claiming to OWN the Bears. This game is critical for leading the division but for the Bears it, they think it is the light at the end of the tunnel for being destroyed by the Packers over and over.

There is a lot of bragging rites riding on this game.

  9. Closest I can remember is maybe 2016 because we NEEDED that win to completely run that table. That’s when Rodgers hit Jordy with a beautiful deep ball. Before that 2013 at Soldier Field.

  10. I’m so amped I took advantage of the Black Friday Sunday Ticket deal. The Rams game is set to record. I’m watching the Packers go Bear hunting.
