The franchise and half the fanbase are afraid of a couple of losing seasons to get back to relevancy.
Not to mention moved on from a HoF coach.
The eagles won a SB, paid Carson Wentz, fired a coach, drafted a QB, lost a SB, and won another SB since our last playoff win.
I get your point, but the Pats dynasty collapsed as soon as they got busted filming the Bengals. There was an immediate and huge change in points scored and points allowed.
Every team in the Steelers division has gotten worse and Tomlin still can’t get it done.
Excellent way to frame the franchise purgatory
If we tanked and tried to rebuild most of ya’ll would still scream for Tomlin’s head. Hell, we tried to tank with whatever Hodges/Rudolph was and still found ways to win.
Wait a second….so…it’s ok to have a losing season??????
Im told the Steelers would be crazy to get rid of Mike Tomlin because he’s never had a losing season.
Living in New England, and probably watching the game tomorrow with friends, this stings.
This is why Rooney is also to blame for our shortcomings. Year in and year out it’s been the same. Same shit record, same shit 1st round playoff exit, same shitty defense and/or offense. He’s so afraid of being mediocre when that’s what the Steelers really are. A mediocre team trying to disguise itself as a playoff contender.
Drake Maye not a franchise qb. Having a good season but so did Mac Jones that one year. Trust will not be good next year.
I’ve been a Steelers fan my entire life and I’m legitimately looking at picking another team to watch because I’m sick of watching them do nothing to get better year after year after year.
Eagles, Rams also, basically.
That’s what happens when the owners actually do shit, our guys love mediocrity because mediocrity makes money with the minimum effort and it’s pretty clear that situation won’t change under that family.
How does everyone feel about Will Howard? At this point throw him in there and see what he’s got.
Hey that’s me! This team sucks!
And we still beat them this year.🤣
Patriots also whiffed on a coach too in this timespan
The Browns have a more recent playoff win
Doug Pederson won a Super Bowl with the Eagles, was fired by the Eagles, took a year off, was hired by the Jaguars, won a playoff game with the Jaguars, and was fired by the Jaguars since Tomlin last won a playoff game.

I think Tomlin is coaching his way out of the HoF
Tomlin is 1/3 of the team leadership. Tomlin needs to move on for his own career (although he is signed through at least next year). The team needs a new GM who can convince ownership to revamp their draft procedures and free agent policy.
One of the main problems is that the organization got sentimental. I don’t remember us holding on to players – even our favorites – and giving them their payday. It always seemed that we would take a few good years of production then trade them to get paid elsewhere. There are a few defensive stars that we should have traded. I love TJ but why is on the Steelers still. It doesn’t make sense for him or for us. And that’s the same for pretty much the whole defense. We spend so much holding on that we don’t have much to look forward to…we used to grow linebackers and receivers on trees. Now we picking up fermented fruit off the ground.
