Game Highlights: Devils 3, Blues 2 (OT)

Look at that home record. Haven’t lost in regulation. He was another coach that just recently said, “We need players to play better.” They did. And they snapped the four-game losing streak in their last game. Devils win the opening draw. Shoot it into the blue zone. And with Butch Navich on the ice. Thomas and Kyru with them. They get it over the line. Kyru is going to sling it in behind the net. Seanthaler there to knock it loose to Hamilton now to Yesper Brat. Hamilton will move it to the neutral zone. They get it over the blue line and take it down along the near wing. Center it off Bennington. Rebound and big save by Bennington. Keep that trend going. Well, they are. They’re also eight for eight on the penalty kill over their last four games with no penalty kills needed in the last game in New York. Quick shot gets blocked up. Walker’s going to pick it up at the flex to Cam Fowler. Wire score. Fowler with Sunquist right in front, but Fowler slapshots it in. Ninth time in 10 games they’ve scored first. Well, I tell you what, it’s offensive zone time by this fourth line. You know, low to high, net front presence, it’s simple hockey. It’s basic hockey. And when you go low to high and you have a defenseman jump down in the rush right here, crepes on in. And then Cam Fall with another one off the wall driving it to the goal as Tee O Meer and Bennington makes the save. Rat behind the net. Back to the line. Hamilton into traffic. It’s there. They shoot. They score. That was only a matter of time. Devils on the doorstep. Nothing. Marks him with the one. And then on the Bob Marino Robo Cam shot from the outside. And this is what Teemo Meer does. He hangs in and around the blue paint. He puts him puck coming over the line down to the corner. Thomas. Oh man. Looking for Neighbors. Chest kicked away. Good recovery, but Nav Fowler near circle to Thomas. 14 seconds to go. Thomas shoots. Score. Power play goal following a good penalty kill. And the St. Louis Blues regain the lead two to one on the fourth goal of the year from Robert Thomas. He’s the player that drives this team and he’s been on a little bit of a goal drought here, a point drought over the last three, but now he is on the board with what an elite shot this is. He’s going to end up going short side. Look at the way he drags this in and around Jonas Seganthaler. Look at Jacob Marsham. He doesn’t even react. Thinking of his big goal. Fourth of the year, second of the season on the power play as the Blues on top. Flanked by Butch Navic in Kyu yet again and the puck driven around. Pero steps up along the wing. Beats Meer to the puck. Joseph putting the pressure on. Devils release it to the far point. Meyers Teemo Meyer down into the corner from Heisha. Back to Meyer to Hughes. Pratt. Short pass. Hughes down low far wing. And another block. It’s in front and it finds its way in. Pennington looks up to the Raptors. He sure had a without Jack Hughes. Watch the way Luke Hughes here at the very end here coming up. He’s going to kind of catch everyone right there. You think he’s going to shoot it and he dust it off and he moves it over to Team Omire. Team Omire gets the shot and look at the placement by Nicoir. Watch it right here. He holds it in a swift little right through the five hole. Blues have picked up points in every one of them except for the last one against the Rangers. But even that was a 1-1 game going to the third period into the New Jersey end with 5 seconds to go. We’re going back to overtime. And why not? A little free hockey coming your way the night. Two players from Switzerland on the opening draw. Blues win the big face off. Sudter won it. Yeah, he won it and then he got right off. He just was out there to win the faceoff. Now on the ice, you have that young man right there in Jordan Cyro. They’ll bring it far over to the head of steam. The defenseman gets it in over the line. Hands it off to Heir. Second shift of overtime. Thomas nearly took it away. Heir centers and the federal scores. Mets will put it in. Well, and it’s Nico Heir once again. He had himself quite a game. He’s the puck possessor right here. He’s going to make the pass. Look at that battle one right across the blue paint to the back door for Neck. That is all Nicoisha. That battle right there. That quick little stutter step, peripheral vision right across the blue paint. You’re going to see Neik sneak right behind Cam Fowler and he gave this home crowd a

  1. They have just resigned themselves to the fact that they will be replaced or reconfigured sometime this season. No pride or sense of team. It’s more than just one or two players.

  2. looks like Kyrou left Neimec for 91 who was skating away to the blue line. I love Kyrou but everyone is making poor decisions collectively and consistently.
