OKC (20-1) currently has a very good chance (37.2%) of a top four pick via the Clippers. I will experience a historic crashout if they get a better pick than us
utah’s pick is top 8 protected, i promise you the jazz are gonna tank and make sure that they’re one of the 8 worst teams. it’s the clipper’s pick that’s the issue
The upcoming draft capital from OKC is pretty insane.
If OKC manages to get a top four pick this year, the league surely has to intervene right? Presti has pretty much min-maxed the CBA.
On the other hand, I’m holding out hope that Phoenix misses the playoffs, and wins the lottery.
I’d blister with rage.
I’d also be super annoyed if Indiana got it.
If we stay the worst team we’re definitely getting the 5th pick lol
It’s going to be a crazy draft and draft lottery.
it’ll either be Brooklyn, Dallas again, or any other large market teams that drop to a lottery pick. The NBA rigs these based on market size more so then anything else which is why if 4 is our worse case scenario in a good draft it’ll be 4. In a bad draft year it seems they give a bit more leeway.
I don’t understand anyone here complaining that “the system is broken” or whatever. OKC has had no special advantages — financial, market, appeal. Some of the picks they traded for have worked out, some ended up worse than expected.
The relevant difference here is that they traded Paul George at the peak of his value, whereas the Wizards kept Beal until he was a salary dump. If they’d traded him a couple years earlier, there’d be three more 1st-round draft picks on the team right now.
(If you want a historic crashout, I bet Dallas will end the season with better odds than Clippers/OKC.)
Clippers won’t finish this low
We’re def getting pick four or five given our luck
They almost have to just keep trading picks forward because they can’t possibly use all these players. They’ll always have reinforcements in their back pocket if somebody leaves.
