They are not the best perimeter defenders. We do miss their spacing and shooting. They are average defenders at best. Not liabilities but lack the physicality to be great perimeter defenders. Jaylon Tyson has the build to be a good perimeter defender. Hunter can be good too when he wants to be. He gets lazy though.
Cavs regressed so incredibly that I think we are in the bottom seed for the playoffs. It’s not because of Struss and Merrill. Three-point shooting is a problem and it’s not JUST on missing Struss and Merrill. The offense is out of sync.
Garland injury/lackluster return
Mobley failing to develop into an all-star player
Allen being incredibly passive
Kenny doing a lot of strange lineups. Like he’s experimenting in the season with no real success.
Generally been bad on defense. Like teams scoring +100 while missing their franchise players. I think it’s a culture thing.
Biggest problem is we are about a quarter into the season. It’s not the first two weeks of the season.

It’s the shooting that’s the difference, that changes everything. Unfortunately this is still a finesse team and Strus and Merrill won’t change that when they come back but they will boost the offense
