[Pelissero] Vikings waiving thielen

  1. …….intriguing. Surely he would be interested? Curious if we are interested with our youth movement and Coker playing well in the same role.

  2. I’d say we are strong contenders to bring him back this year. Unless he goes to a true contender anyway.

  3. Didn’t he want to retire in Minnesota? Wasn’t that like…the only reason we even entertained the trade?

  4. Dan Morgan is having himself a year

Moehrig signing, Tmac, Scourton, princely, ransom in the draft, Thielen trade

Don’t wanna overreact but we might have our GM

  5. That’s crazy. I thought he cared more about going home at this point than actually having playing time.

  6. Hell bring him back for the playoff run, he’s a good culture guy, the players and staff loved him. Just his presence could be a nice jolt for the guys

  7. Honestly I think signing him is a mistake for us. We need Bryce to get comfortable with the guys we have rn. TMac, Coker, Legette. Bryce finally remembered Coker exists yesterday, we don’t need to muddle it up now.

  8. He knows the offense, he had good chemistry with Bryce. I don’t see why we shouldn’t bring him back to finish off the season if he was interested in returning.

  9. Yes our young WR core has looked good

    Yes we need him.

    Both can be true

People have stated we need a veteran to help mentor them. He should already be pretty familiar with the system. Whenever the offense looks bad I see 191652 comments in this sub about how “Thielen would be so great to have again right now. Bryce needs his safety blanket back. Dan was so dumb to trade him”

    Time to make it happen.

Oh. And the Vikings just prepared for the Seahawks. Do you know who we have in 3 weeks?

  10. Wow in retrospect what a disastrous trade by the Viking’s GM. Dan has got to be smiling after all the flak he took

  11. He wants a ring. It’d be funny but he ain’t coming back here. He’s going Denver/New England/Rams/Packers type

  12. All for bringing him back, but a little weird since he asked to be traded away in the off season.

  13. Bring him back, we have a bye week, he knows the system, and we spread the ball anyways.

I don’t mind guaranteeing him a number of targets if he wants yards, he’s as reliable as they come. If we want to be a playoff team we have to make decisions like this. Also gives us depth—hurts to say, but he will give more production than Legette atm.

  14. Hahahaha- he had a better stat line against the eagles than he did his entire season this year

  15. I don’t think we make a move, there’s just no space. We currently have 6 WRs on the roster. TMac, XL, and Coker aren’t going anywhere which means that one of Horn Jr, Tremayne, or Renfrow would have to go to bring Thielen in.
Obviously the move would be to swap Renfrow out but even then he’s been inactive since Coker came back so you would need to take Horn out of the active lineup because Tremayne is mostly a special teamer, and Thielen is not doing that.
I would rather have Horn continue to develop Andreea get playing time with Renfrow there in case we need him especially considering he actually wanted to be here, only here in fact. Plus they have had a comparable stat line despite Renfrows lack of time.

    Renfrow: 6 gp, 15 rec, 26 tgts, 89 yds, 2 tds, 15 lng
    Thielen: 11 gp, 8 rec, 18 tgts, 69 yds, 0 tds, 19 lng

I’d rather not touch the vibes in this locker room dynamic. Let him go to Buffalo or something for his last 5-7 games

  16. Wait.. didn’t he just play last week and got us an extra pick? If he comes back that’d be such a fleece

  17. There were some Vikings fans being real dickheads about this trade so this amidst their implosion is hilarious. Don’t know if it’s the right move to bring him back with Coker finally getting some good looks but I also wouldn’t hate it and it would further add to the humiliation which is a plus for my petty ass
