There doesn’t seem to be much urgency at this point at least from what is fed to the media. There is a lot to talk about in this CBA, perhaps more than ever, if they didn’t keep kicking some of these cans down the road, it would have been much better. International draft and salary cap, I’m looking at you.
I think the best way to avoid it is to phase in the salary cap & floor and revenue sharing over a decade.
Most current players will be out of the game by then, and most owners are not thinking that far ahead. Will it have some unintended consequences, sure, but it will make that decade a ton of fun.
