Memphis Grizzlies Are Creating A MONSTER

Grizzlies are now five and three with Zack Edy. Meanwhile, four and nine without him. On top of that, he just had another dominant performance. It all starts with him posting up a smaller center, Drew Eubanks. Edy has him looking 6’5 instead of 610. And the 72 wingspan takes over on the reverse. Felt like he was playing on a mini hoop. Once Jackson Jr. spun away from Demar. He did his job because he has the rim protector contesting, meaning Keegan Murray has to take away Edy on the glass. Obviously, that didn’t work. Now, on defense, Westbrook believes he’s quicker at this point. It looks like he has a chance. However, Zack timed it perfectly. He gets it out of his hands and his great defense leads to a three-pointer on the other end. Back to posting up Eubanks. One dribble into the hook shot. His body completely shields his defender off. That is an unblockable shot with sweet touch. So far, he has shot 21 hook shots on this season, made 12 of them, 57%. He’s on pace to set a careerhigh in efficiency for that shot type. Last season, he shot 49.5% on 101 hook shots. Guess what? When you have rim protection, you can get aggressive on the basketball. Look at the pickup point. He gets blown by. But at this point, what option does Lavine have? He can’t lob it up. Edy might deflect it. Also, Jiren Jackson, he has a crosscourt pass to the corner, but that’s a very tight window. The best option is to defeat Edy, and it goes horribly wrong. On this screen, he doesn’t get all of Keon Ellis, but he gets enough. Now, Eubanks has to stop Vince, lob it up as high as possible. Edy will go and get it. After this spin move from Demar, he has an angle, but Edy helps which forces a pass results in a kick out miss three-pointer. He then runs the floor. He doesn’t get any contact on this screen, but that’s all Coward needs. He’s passes first defender and too quick for the rim protector. Jiren Jackson then forces a miss, easy rebound, then quickly Edy finds the point guard who then finds an open layup. Now he’s rolling hard. Seals his guy perfectly. Look at the angle and space he gives his teammate to make that pass. Catch. Keep it high. Finish. The positioning is perfect. He’s taking away the left side, but also he’s able to extend and take away the right side. That is not fair. This is a very little thing, but it’s awesome. As soon as the shot goes up, his head turns and he makes sure his guy isn’t crashing. Fundamentals. The same exact thing we witnessed a couple possessions earlier. this time keeping it high through traffic and contact while drop stepping. Are you kidding me? Back to the hook shot. He doesn’t even take a dribble this time. And look at Russ. He’s anticipating this screen. He’s anticipating contact and that sets up everything. Now the big has to help throw it up. Easy bucket again. He’s only focused on the big after this shot. Once he’s accounted for, now he goes for the board. Fundamentals. Jackson Jr. has another mismatch because he’s on the floor with Edy. The big cannot help because he can’t leave Zack. So now use your size, shoot it over them. Next possession, same thing, but no help comes. Now it’s Ed’s turn. Three dribbles, hook, shot, and their tallest player is Precious Aua right now. That’s not going to work. Edy is too much to handle. Coward beats his guy. A near highway scream, but it would have been a foul. So Edy avoids contact again as seal gives his teammate a wideopen passing lane. The sweet touch then takes over. Jackson doing his thing now. Guess what? The big doesn’t want to help. Free dunk against Edy. You must hit jump shots because that lane is shut off. Then Keegan Murray drives into a brick wall leading to a very tough long contested floater. Now he goes to the bench and the next time he’s back in the Grizzlies blew the lead. No problem. He will carry them home. He’s getting fronted, so just lob it over the top. Look at his hands. Are you kidding me? One hand with the weak hand catch. Then he just takes his good old time while staying on balance. Demar D Rozan fakes the midi. Great pass. Looks like a free layup. Nope, not even close. This takeover is crazy. Airball. Don’t worry, Zack. Edy is there to save the day. Initially, Monk does well on ball, but eventually he’s screened by Edy. forcing a one-on- two situation. Great pass. Slamamajama. Next time the screen forces Demar to trip. Guess what? Even if Coward missed, Zach is right there to clean it up. This time, Lavine gets over the screen. The ball handler is doubled. Problem is, Edy is wide open. Another tough catch for a guy his size that he makes look easy. Then the icing on the cake. Great pass from Monk. Free floater. Not so much. Just an unreal performance. His impact is off the charts right now and the Grizzlies are a delight to watch when he’s on the court. If you enjoyed, leave a like and subscribe. And if you got time, check out my other videos. 1. Idk why people thought he wouldn’t translate. He improves his game passably every year and was utterly dominant. Bro dropped 37 on Clingan in the title game and Clingan is a good big man defender even in the nba

  2. Edey started playing basketball in the 10th grade. 6 years later he's the 2-time College Player of the Year. He's going to prove all the NBA 'experts' wrong.

  3. It’s so refreshing to see a big guy like Edey in the middle of the paint and see a shot go up and he immediately turns to find the opposing center to box out. The basics that so many big man in today’s game lack
