(Flashback Post) David Tepper’s Panthers will use Sportsology for both G.M., coaching search

Didn’t read flashback at first and was so confused
I always believed that David Tepper wanted to win. I also think that if you spend billions of dollars on a business, the natural instinct is to want to in some way manage your investment. I also think that it takes a while to realize that knowing finance amounts to knowing absolute fuck all about running a football team. I am happy he decided to step back. Even if it didn’t work out with Canales and Dan, I firmly believe that the way the Panthers performed their searches was how it SHOULD be done by a professional org.
They didn’t just help in the search process. They helped audit the entire power structure and reorganized responsibilities from the top down. These changes are what led Brandt Tillis to join our group which I think is just as big as Dan and Dave. We give a lot of credit to Dan on his trades but Brandt is right there with him wheeling and dealing too. Also look at how smart it was to pick up Icky’s contract and sign Horn.
When I saw this play out it is where I started to have faith in Tepper’s process. Him looking to a consulting group for a full restructure shows a lot of humility which was not something he was viewed to have in the public opinion at the time. I thought it was the smart thing to do; even if it would take some time to materialize.
