Lynnell: Commanders’ O-line a Top 5 unit in the NFL

I know it’s a tough pill to swallow losing in dramatic fashion last night the way that Washington did, but there are so many positive takeaways from that game. My number one takeaway, my biggest takeaway from Sunday Night Football against the Denver Broncos, this offensive line for the Washington Commanders should be the focal point moving forward. It is a top five group in the National Football League and they’re all right and playing well. what they did last night considering the opponent. You can make the argument that not only was it their best offensive performance of the year, it was their best quarterback performance of the year because Marcus Mariota was absolutely spectacular, but as a whole, none of that is possible without the play of this offensive line. Washington 30 first downs, the most that any team has had versus Denver this year. 143 rushing yards, the second best against this Broncos defense this year. Zack Z with a 10 catch performance. Taran McLaren with a seven catch performance. The way that Washington was able to move Denver up front along the line of scrimmage was great. I think the offensive line deserves a ton of credit. Josh Connelly, the rookie, seemingly figuring it out here. Remember, he went through that murderer row of pass rushers last night. It wasn’t easy. Jonathan Cooper, Nick Bonito, two of the best edges in the game right now. And Connorly held up. I think Cliff Kingsbury deserves some credit for the play calling, getting the ball out of Mariota’s hands. But all in all, when you drop back Mariota 50 times and you only give up 10 pressures, two sacks, that’s a formula for success here. It’s something that Washington should definitely be proud

The Commanders lost to Denver Sunday, but Lynnell saw one MASSIVE development unearthed: Washington has a TOP 5 offensive line in the NFL! 💯
