Doc Rivers Postgame Press Conference | 12.01.25

Kevin was out with back pass. Do you have an update on how? No, it just you know I saw it on the play but I don’t know what happened. So um you know third quarter I know on paper they only outscored you by five but to go up 16 the call timeout look Yeah. I guess just that that it seemed like that stretch for them to tie it up from there. Yeah, I I didn’t think we played right um most of the night personally. Um they had 18 more shots than us. um you know how hard it is to win a game when you we spot a team is you know I always tell people just imagine saying you get the first 18 shots and then we’ll start the game right that’s um God we we played so well the other night rebounded well and then tonight I just felt like I felt frustrated the entire night I really did I just didn’t think we played with the uh the right something and uh we played like we thought we’re going to win the Um, that’s how I feel. Um, the shot differential, I mean, these are things we’ve obviously talked about for a while. So, I I guess is in game I I don’t know. Are you still searching for is it combinations, do you think? Is it timeouts? Like, what can maybe help them get out of that at times, whether it be the turnovers, offensive rebounds is your Well, you call timeouts. We do that. Um we we didn’t execute well a lot of timeouts tonight which is something we usually do. You know early in first half we did. We got a couple threes out of timeout. We got a three to start the third quarter. That was a atto. But overall honestly I didn’t I didn’t think we had great focus out of timeouts. We missed stuff. Um you know I just I could feel it. I said I asked him in halftime. I said guys do you think we’re playing right or well? And I don’t. I said we we we got to like click in to playing right every possession. I just didn’t think we did. So, uh that’s on me. I got to figure out a way of getting them to do it. I mean, I guess with that like to come out of halftime to go up 16 and it looked like there it looked like there was some movement and a little sharp it didn’t stop. Okay. We got the lead by playing the right way. The ball was moving. Um, everyone was touching it and then it just went away. Hi, coach. Um, what do you think makes uh Koulie Bali such a tough defender? Just plays hard, physical, you know, long arms, athletic, strong. And what do you what do you think stands out about the Wizards young core in general? Well, today they were fantastic. You know, they just play hard. They’re a young team that have no fear. You know, there’s no pressure on them u you know, with their record. So, they just come out and play. You let a team like that get close, they’ll beat you. You know, one thing about them, it gets to a four-minute game. They have two players in and Chris Middleton and CJ McCulla that know how to play. And so that’s that’s their secret sauce, trying to keep a game close, then let the veterans take over. And that’s what happened tonight. Hello, coach. Were you surprised by the defense on Yiannis, especially sending a smaller guy on him? No, I mean Yiannis has seen everything. Uh, literally everything. So, I think he handles it pretty well. You know, if if you know the five turnovers is probably what he would like back, but other than that, he played pretty well. And were you surprised by those wizards? Maybe you thought that was going to be easier because it’s the worst record in Well, I wasn’t, but I’m not playing, so I can’t do anything about it. You anymore, Jim? Another one. Um, you mentioned, you know, the four-minute game of Chris and CJ. CJ always had it kind of going. Yeah. Throughout. Um and then we had a offensive rebound. Um the side out of bounds over in the action and we got off his body. Chris Middleton um shot the gap which you can never do. Uh that created the three-point play and that got him going. You know, that was a big shot he made, but um I thought he he got the up and foul on Jiannist on time. You know, he’s just a smart player.

  1. Full of excuses. It’s old…. I do not understand the rotations…. Something has got to give. Without KPJ, the Bucks should have still won. This loss is inexcusable.

  2. Doc doesn’t deserve all the blame because when you have a Myles Turner and a Giannis, rebounds should be easy!! You shouldn’t be giving up points because you refuse to put a body on someone and box out! It’s the same mistakes over and over. Giannis did not play his best tonight. A few crucial turnovers. This can’t happen.

  3. The horror show and blame game continues… Doc th3 saviour has cost th3 Bucks by white-anting Adrian G.

    Doc – no ideas Rivers…
The poor execution, poor plays, poor focus and overall limited creativity is a coaching fault. Own it.

Bucks – get yourself a real coach that doesn't blame everyone except himself (blaming players like he did at Philly, and Clippers, etc…).

  4. Playing Kuz 20 min AJ and Trent getting 30 plus is wild to me then say well the other night we reb good brother you barley played your only 6’9 wing 😂😂😂

  5. I'm not going to say what other say, but this, HORST built this mess and every time we play Washington, is a reminder of the draft mistake of Keshawn George. Fire BOTH and really consider trading Turner who can't rebound for anything nor block shots enough to be a presence. I miss Bud.

  6. Look at these good weather fans talking about fire Doc but have no legitimate criticism to support their opinion. Go ahead, fire Doc, you won't make the playoffs and Giannis will be gone as you spend the next 3 years rebuilding with no draft picks. The Bucks cannot rebound, play defense consistently, and they turn the ball over. As a result, teams get more shots and the Bucks lose. Wizards had 102 shots, Bucks had 84 shots. The good news is, if they can close the deficit they tend to get good shots on offense and are 1st in 3pt percentage and 3rd in FG percentage. They have half the problem solved, now it's just a matter of getting the same amount of shots as their opponents, which is easier said than done, but not impossible.

  7. I still believe the NBA just wants Giannis to leave the Bucks and by that to keep making his teammates suffer from injuries and making him play with the worst coach. Giannis gotta open his mouth because the organization will listen to him but he wants to be humble instead
