So, could the Pittsburgh Pirates be signing Kyle Schwarber this off season? Well, here on the screen is a tweet on X from Sleeper Pirates which says the Pittsburgh Pirates are quote in on Kyle Kyle Schwarber per Jeff Passen. Now, I don’t think this is going to happen like just because the Tigers or sorry, the Pirates are interested or I guess quote unquote in on Kyle Schwarber. Is it going to happen? Probably not. The Pirates don’t spend a lot of money. There’s no other way to put it. That’s why there’s rumors about Paul SK being traded this offseason. the player who just won the signing award in his second year and is arguably the best pitcher in all of baseball because he plays on the Pirates and the Pirates don’t spend. So why all of a sudden are they going to spend? Well, it’s because of that pressure. It’s because they want to keep Paul Skins and they have one of the best players in all of baseball who has four years remaining under team control. So why not spend money when he’s cheap? I I’m I’m all for that. But this ownership group in Pittsburgh continuously trades players away. They continuously don’t spend money in free agency. Now, reportedly they were in on Josh Naylor prior to him heading back to uh Seattle. So, believe that if you want. I guess only time will tell. Um if that was actually true, uh perhaps. But could they put their money where their mouths are a little bit here and sign a big player in free agency? Well, Kyle Schwarber is a nice blend of a player that probably isn’t going to have a lot of term just because he’s a little bit older, but a player that can bring some good production and really add some more offense to this Pittsburgh team. So, I don’t think it’s going to happen personally speaking, but uh geographically speaking, it could make some sense with Pittsburgh being not too far away from Philadelphia where he currently plays. There’s going to be a pretty solid market for Ky Schwarber. The only question mark I sort of have is that can other teams outbid them? Absolutely. But it’s all going to come down to term. Like, I think the Pirates could definitely spend a lot on a short-term deal. So, maybe this is where they give Kyle Schwarber like would they give him 30 million bucks for or I guess 90 million bucks for three years? Possibly.
