He’s doing pretty well for a rookie. I mean you can go stretches where you forget he is a rookie. Which kinda makes the rookie goofs stick out more.
And keep in mind, though he stayed in college for a while, he actually started fewer college games than Rattler. So he actually lacks a lot of first hand in-game experience.
Compared to Cam Ward, he’s already Drew Brees.
My desert. My Arrakis. My Drew.
I feel like he’s done enough to risk it and use our top pick on a skills player. That might backfire and we might be having this same discussion in a year – but man it’s accelerate this rebuild if we didn’t have to get another QB
Long live the fighters!
I think he can be a more athletic, gunslinger-y Goff if his potential is fully realized, and god does this franchise need something to go right. We still got busts on the team that need to go.
If he improves next year I’m fully on board. But rn I’m still cautious.
I looked it up – he has the highest passer rating among rookies this year.
From reading all the comments online about him, I thought I was taking crazy pills by thinking he gets too antsy in the pocket. But I couldn’t watch the game yesterday, so I listened to the broadcast. And deuce was saying the same thing repeatedly. He rushes himself unnecessarily at times and feels pressure that doesn’t exist or was actually picked up.
If he can fix that, which is teachable and should come with experience, everything else looks positive for his potential as a franchise QB
He’s a baller with grit and heart and has leadership qualities and intangibles that can’t be coached. He has good vision and reads defenses well already but that will even improve over time. He protects the football and isn’t prone to risky moves. I have been saying he was the man since we drafted him and I started evaluating him. I realize that I’m an average Joe and my opinion amounts to nothing but I did play the position in high school and Ju/Co so there’s that- lol.
All OL guys
All that with the worst running game and interior O line in the league. He’s showing that he could be the guy
