I agree, the Super Chargers uniforms ARE our best looking uniforms. But they should never be the primaries. For one a monochrome look every week would start to get old, we can’t wear white or yellow pants with them because of the powder blue on the pants. Second, it just feels special when we wear these uniforms. The throwback stadium graphics and music, the fans wearing their San Diego throwbacks, it just wouldn’t have that special feel to it if we wore them every week. And the last reason, the Chargers are known for wearing powder blue, a lot of teams around the league wear navy as their primary color. Having powder blue as our primary color establishes an identity. Really, I don’t think these jerseys will ever be considered to be our primary uniforms, but if they were, here’s why I think they shouldn’t be. Bolt Up

  1. It’s all just uniform fatigue.

IMO, they need to stay as alts because I don’t care much about the White/Navy Away uniforms. I prefer the powder blue version

  2. It’s funny. Back when navy was our primary and we’d bust out the powder blues literally everyone said that they’re the best in the league and we should go them full time. Now people want navy lol

  3. Ya hot take for sure imo the navy’s go too hard. The powders are cool but the navy’s scream trench fight physical football while the powders are more finesse

  4. There’s something tougher about this color scheme imo. I love the powder blue, but it feels a bit “nerfy” especially with the bolt smiley logo they were pushing right after the rebrand. I’d love to keep these navy’s as alternates. Might be nostalgia goggles, but these look fucking awesome

  5. I personally have always loved our Navy jerseys – wish we never switched to the powder blues as the primary jersey. Love seeing them back in these! Or maybe they could do a more even split of the powder blues and navy’s through out the year. I could get on board with that – definitely has the potential to draw in more old fans from the SD days.

  6. I mean if they had made our navy’s that we wore before switching this cool then we wouldn’t have complained about powder blues coming back… I remember as soon as they released this as an alt I thought wtf just go back lol

  7. It’s just like the powder blue jerseys for the last 20 years in San Diego. They were special because they were alternates. You appreciated them because of the exclusivity and they were only worn 2x a year. It was a big deal when that was the unifrom for the upcoming game. Especially since Reebok had the actual patent for that powder blue shade.

It’s just funny to me that when the team was playing in Carson, everyone was begging for the powder blues to be the primary when the team moves into Sofi. And here was are 5 years later and now we all want Navy back? Lol

Let’s say hypothetically the team moves back to a navy primary, in 2030 everyone is going to want powder blue to be the primary again lol

  8. My hot take. I don’t care what colors they wear as long as the jerseys and pants are two different colors. I don’t know why but it bugs me lol.

  9. Sorta agree. But only because I think they should fully embrace the late 90s/early 2000s look and go with white pants at home

  10. They’re cool, but a lot of teams use navy as their primary and we’d just be another in that list. Powder blue is clearly the chargers

  11. Powder Blue all the way….these are good alternatives….would look better with white pants

  12. I became a fan during the LT, Brees days so I have always preferred the Navy to the Powder.

  13. Not only do i disagree, it’s not even close. The Navy’s are a 9/10, but the Powder Blues are a 20/10.

  14. I just wish they sold more navy merch. Love them as alts but as you stated primary would destroy the specialness

  15. The powder blue is still the best jersey in the league. The navy makes for excellent alternate drip though. We are spoiled as far as aesthetics go.

  16. Super hot take: I can never get myself to care that much about what uniforms the team is wearing. I just want them to win games. An ugly win is better than a pretty loss.

  17. I became a fan of this team because of how Junior Seau and Rodney Harrison looked playing in the Navy uniforms. So I hope they return to the Navy uniforms. Personally, I prefer the white pants from the 90s.
