I’m done defending mid QBs man. I made the same mistake with Geno: “it’s because of the O line” “it’s the OC” no, he’s just…not that good, and neither is Darnold. If this team is serious about winning a SB, they can’t tolerate mid turnover machine QB play. “But what’s the alternative, just sucking?” Yes! Because at least then they have a chance at getting a good QB in the draft. Just look at the Commanders, Patriots, Broncos, and Texans. Building a team is much easier with a QB that can cover up flaws. The QB ultimately determines sustained success in the modern NFL. Teams are fleeting, but good QBs stick around.
We’re all clowning on the Vikings for whiffing on JJ, but they have a better chance at finding a guy high in the draft than any other method. If they whiff again, they can try again. That’s the incentive now. Would you rather have A) a top tier roster and a mid QB or B) a mid roster and a top tier QB. I’d take B 100 times out of 100. Heck, I’d rather have Dart right now than Darnold, because at the bare minimum he can extend plays and doesn’t fumble the ball every other sack. Rant over
