If you’re the Canucks, why not put your trade list out early and see what comes back?

Well, I mean, it encouraged conversations and discussions and uh I think that would be the point of Patrick Alvine and the Vancouver Conucks and how they positioned the availability of their pending unrestricted free agents. Um, but they’re just discussions at this point and and the messaging that I’m getting is that look, we being that Canucks are not in a great spot, but we’re certainly not in a spot where we feel that we need to force anything. So, this is getting that list out there early, seeing what the response is from the other 31 clubs across the National Hockey League and then again sparking dialogue and and conversation. So, by all accounts, um you know, it was a worthwhile exercise. You know, why not Patrick Alvie, right? Put it out there and then see what comes back. But it doesn’t mean that a week later because there have been no trades that that was a bad idea. It did encourage some back and forth among the NHL teams.

  1. As a lifelong Canuck fan… sigh…
I think right now is a strong time to shop guys like Garland, Kane, and sherwood. Especially Sherwood he's doing things where you sell high… unfortunately I love the guy and he's protecting others with his style of play. Hopefully we can build-up a plethora of picks in a deep draft, hopefully win the lottery for our 1st ever 1st overall. Might be on the running for worst team for a couple of years.

  2. Put feelers out for a potential fire sale, don’t actually have a fire sale, then, act surprised when team morale tanks and the expected on-ice results follow.

    The Canuck Way.
