10 defense. They’ll be better early than November, December, and January. And the quarterback plays limited because they can’t run the football and the O line is always in crisis. That’s what they are. You can keep running through quarterbacks and left tackles and wide receivers and drama and running backs, coordinators, doesn’t matter. The guy in charge, Mike Tomlin, is tonedeaf offense. NFL head coaches have gotten younger, smarter, and more offensive. And these older defensive guys, Pete Carroll, Bill Bellichic, Mike Tomlin, Ron Rivera, Lovey Smith, they feel outdated. And I said this, Aaron Rogers, go to Minnesota or retire. You’re just stepping into Tomlin’s quicksand. And I would I would have no problem hiring Mike Tomlin say in Miami to stabilize the Dolphins. I think he’d be a really good fit there. But look around the league right now. Who’s a number one seed in the AFC? Shawn Payeyton, offensive coach. The Jaguars never deliver. Oh, wait. Now they’re going to win their division potentially. Liam Cohen, offensive coach. Shawn McVey is number two seed in the NFC. You know who number one is? Offensive coach Ben Johnson. I would argue Kyle Shannon’s done a better job coaching than anybody outside of Mike Frabel this year. Another offensive coach. Offensive coaches are younger. They’re smarter. They’re more current. And I said this last week, offensive coaches can fix problems in the season. Defensive guys feel like they need an off season. And I’m sorry, but on defense, they’re old. The Steelers are expensive. Darius Slay, Jaylen Ramsay, they’re past their prime. They’re paying a fortune for it. They got gray beards on offense and on defense. They took a defensive tackle instead of Jackson Dart. What are you doing? And again, no urgency. This is a criticism I said about Pete Carol. Gino Smith’s not good enough. Ron Rivera said, “Oh, I got Sam Hal not good enough.” Aaron Rogers, don’t blame him. Look around the league. The rules have changed. These old defensive guys, I don’t have a problem with the Me Ryans, Mike McDonald. They’re young. They’re current. They’re aggressive. I mean, McDonald took over for Pete Carol. An hour later, the team was better with the same players. So, the last six Super Bowls have featured head coaches with an offensive background. Doesn’t mean you have to hire them, but yesterday finally, finally, the fans said enough. I mean, you hold Buffalo to three points at half and you get rolled. Yeah. Um, it’s a it’s a weird it’s a weird time right now for Pittsburgh. Um because you could look at this from a couple different ways. You could look at Pittsburgh as just a little unfortunate that they couldn’t just quite get that quarterback position right. uh since Ben Rothllessberger and that if they were able to just get that quarterback and get solidified there, everything else would be able to build from there. You could also look at it from this team is just lost, confused, and have no idea what they’re doing. And to me, we can talk about the defense or the decisions of Mike Tomlin and the quarterback and they don’t have the O line and they can’t run the ball this that to me the most indefensible thing is that you let a wide receiver go out the door for essentially nothing and he’s right now considered a top one or two wide receiver. uh who’s absolutely balling, who is a massive piece for Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys. And if you were a skillful enough organization where you traded that and you got some great capital back and now you were able to leverage that to have an a now you’re like well man they were struggling in the run game in the O line and now they have a great run game a great O line like and and look look who they drafted so and so you know John Smith a wide receiver in in in the fourth round look how great he’s doing right now like that’s not the case that’s That’s not what they ended up doing. Um, and it’s DK Metaf, right, who they’re still paying a gajillion dollars. And like I had said before this game was even played, I was like, you could have had both receivers actually. And doesn’t mean that you were going to be able to keep them both longterm, but you could have had both of them. And then it was like, well, now at least you’re giving Aaron Rogers like two elite wide re two great wide receivers. And now that should ideally open up a lot of things. should should you there should be a lot of versatility there certainly working for Dak and and the Dallas Cowboys. Uh you would think Aaron Rogers would be able to find a way to be able to to make that work here. Um and to me when you look at just even a decision like that and listen there’s every coach has made a a poor move, a poor decision. Um, but like that’s just such a glaring because especially because everyone kept saying, “Oh, as soon as you as soon as a receiver leaves Mike Tomlin, it’s downhill for them. Mike Tomlin knows when to let people go, blah blah blah blah blah.” And it’s like, well, this was this was a massive misstep and being unable to make this work is it’s just it’s a huge problem to me. Um, and you know, it’s uh, especially if you’re going to be a defensive team, it’s like I then expect that defense I expected to look like what we see the Houston Texans look like, what we see the Denver Broncos look like. Like like that’s that’s what what the expectations are then. It’s let me see what you know, let let’s see what this defense can bring to the table and really make things a lot easier. and throughout the course of the season, it just hasn’t necessarily done that. Um, and or what even the Cleveland Browns defense looks like. And that that to me then becomes a massive problem. So now you’re not even managing the team, right? And managing the personalities, right? You’re getting rid of players that you should have kept or should have been able to, you know, manage properly. Your defense isn’t good enough. and now it’s been, you know, years and years and years and you haven’t found a long-term answer at the quarterback position. Not to mention, even with Aaron, you haven’t even got your young quarterback. Like, it’s okay to bring in Aaron, but then you haven’t even had your young quarterback who you’re like, we’re just going to have sitting now for a year or whatever uh behind Aaron. learn, grow, take your time, you know, and Aaron’s going to, you know, uh, apparently was more than happy at this point of his career to be a mentor, etc., etc. And they they didn’t even they didn’t even do that, right? They didn’t they didn’t even take that approach right now. Um, and it’s just, yeah, it’s you’re you’re not taking care of right now. You’re failing the I always talk about this, you know, you a team you always got to figure out short-term versus long term. And it’s and it’s a tricky balance. They’re not doing short-term or long-term right now. So it’s like, so then what are you doing? What do you what are you doing? What is the plan? What’s the short-term plan or what’s the long-term plan? What’s the short-term plan or what’s the long-term plan? I don’t know what that answer is, and I don’t think anyone knows that answer. That’s a problem. That’s that’s that’s a problem. But those are just my thoughts. I’d absolutely love to hear yours. What do you guys all think about the Pittsburgh Steelers um and the fire Mike Tomlin chance? I was I was surprised by that. I mean, yeah, just it’s kind of crazy to hear that. 1. yeah but why the PICKENS trade – I thought METCALF – PICKENS would have been fun !!! – DIDNT YOU? spread the field and Najee Harris – and what happened to Pat Friarmuth . you get the point and now where is the TOMLIN vs COWHER – REALLY ! what did mike win oh yeah a COWHER built team – go look Y.A TITTLE

  2. Tomlin should have been run out of Pittsburgh years ago. But the media wouldn’t stop with the bs. He’s great , he’s never had a losing season crap. He’s not great , he’s mediocre just like his record shows. The Steelers will not win another game this season. It’s over men !!!

  3. Tomlin is a fraud. He stands on the sidelines and continues to pound a square peg in a round hole like a baffled toddler. A stubborn Neanderthal that refuses to adopt to the modern NFL. He is simply not capable as he doesn’t know an X from an O. I’ve been wanting him out for a decade now.

  4. Chuck and Bill were champions. Made average players above average. Great championship coaches. Tomlin is average. We don't do average in steeler country. THE STANDARD IS THE STANDARD

  5. Cow herd made some crack sbout people at pittsburgh parties asking where others went to high school. As if its a parochial backwater. Hes clueless. Home to scores of unis and research facilities in robotics and world class hospitals, leader in medical research, pittsburgh draws people from all over the world. Its cosmopolitation but still a friendly and easy to live in town. And he acts like his fire tomlin act is his own insight, people here have wanted tomlin gone for a long time. Its been people like cow herd who have presented the no losing season record for years, because he doesnt look beyond that stat, and doesnt really know what he is talking about

  6. The Steelers are not just a QB away. The defense and overall physicality have been on a decline for quite a while. Whatever worked for Tomlin in the 2000s isn't working anymore. All coaches have an expiration date, even the greats like Chuck Noll, Tom Landry, Don Shula, Andy Reid in Philly, etc.

  7. You will NEVER convince me that Mike Tomlin is soooo good that he’ll get his pick of jobs anywhere. He is the most overrated coach of possible all time. He has a likable personality, but his cute quips at press conferences has grown old. He has blown more halftime leads than anyone. It just don’t understand why sports media think he’s awesome. Maybe they should ask some people from Pittsburgh what they think. The fans like him as a man, but NOT as a coach. He is the definition of “mediocre “

  8. Of all the things I can say about the Steelers n Tomlin win or lose they always seem to fight. I saw no fight against the bills. Where is the fight?
