We are now placed higher than the Chiefs

  1. If Bucs win their next 3 it’s a wrap. Not to mention we have a very confusing team that lacks consistency. So honestly I got not a single clue what will happen.

It’s going to take some perfect luck to pull this off. One game at a time as we say. Sheesh.

  2. I’ll take “enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a mystery” over whatever the hell the last 7ish seasons were.

  3. The crazy thing is, I think if they play in the preseason, we will see a different team on the field in the first two weeks of the season. They could easily have 8 or 9 wins if Bryce can eliminate those fumbles during the games that don’t count. 🤦

  4. Outside of the Falcons win, the Panthers usually get smoked in the 2nd quarter or Bryce carries the game in the 2nd half.

  5. What I don’t like about these power rankings is that it’s clear they don’t watch the games. It’s just “I dunno what to make of them!?” Welp, they could take an opinion on Canales’ play calling. Like *something*. I guarantee you that if you ask any regular Panthers podcaster from Rashad to Aaron Duncan to Chris at Charlotte Vibe, or reporters like Vashti *they* have answers for your questions.

Whoever puts these power rankings together just vibes this stuff together.

  6. All you can do, whoever it is that makes the power rankings, is lie back and enjoy the Bojangles and Cheerwine.

  7. We’re ranked above the Chiefs and that’s something no sane man would ever have bet on going into the season. That alone is a massive win for the season. Onward and upward!

  8. So we could have beat the Bills and the Saints by a FG and we’d still have a negative point differential. I’d be down on the team just based on this but as we all know, the prophecy must be fulfilled.

  9. I think this is entirely fair. We can beat good teams, we can on any given weekend BE a good team. But until we can show that we can beat the teams that we SHOULD beat going in, and do so with consistency I think hovering around the mid point of the league is entirely accurate. But seriously if you told me we would be 7-6 at this point in the year before the season started i wouldn’t have believed you. Loving the progress. But let’s allow room for nuance. We are better. We still need to get better. There’s more options for what we are than “literal worst team in the league” and “super bowl contenders”

  10. The Bills game was a complete write off Andy stunk it up so bad you can’t even evaluate it.

  11. -50 and with a 30-0 shutout on the record. Maybe the most bizarre season by any team ever?

  12. 18th is fair enough. I saw a ranking that had Carolina at 26th behind the 2-11 giants

  13. Realistically, we’re a below-average team that’s benefited from a lot of luck.

We’re 6-1 in one score games. We’re 1-5 otherwise. We either barely win or we lose *hard*.

We got incredibly lucky against the Rams. We got three turnovers, two of which were in the red zone and one which was returned for a TD. On top of this we got 14 points off of 4th down conversions. That’s a total of 5 *very* fluky plays which account for 21 of our points. The Rams offense was moving at will, and ours needed to make every play for this to go our way. One thing goes differently and we lose this game.

While it was really cool to watch, and I don’t think we’re awful this year, I also don’t think this team has it in them to get to the playoffs. I’d love for them to prove me wrong though.

  14. Talking about playoffs in December, I’d say this season was a success. While they haven’t been perfect, this FO and coaching staff has done an outstanding job, especially with the injuries.
