🚨JUST IN: San Francisco 49ers Get NEW Breaking News On Brandon Aiyuk

Happy Tuesday everybody. Welcome into the show. You’re watching the San Francisco 49ers report. Hope you’re all having a great day and your weeks are off to a great start. We have some breaking news to get to here with the new Brandon Aayuk update. Been a little while since we’ve talked about BA here on the show, but John Lynch was on the radio on KMBBR this morning. He had some interesting things to say. And then Jeremy Fowler had some tidbits on the current situation with Aayuk and what could happen after the year. Obviously Fowler an ESPN NFL insider. Before we dive into all of that, let me ask you a question. Do you love the NerS? Do you want elite NerS coverage every single day year round, which is 100% free? If that’s the case, hit that subscribe button. We’re closing in on 182,000 subscribers. What we do really speaks for itself. We have built a great Niners community right here on YouTube. And anytime I’m giving you Niners content, I want it to be informative, insightful, entertaining, thoughtprovoking. I want you to have a voice. Those are the pillars of this show. So, join the movement and let’s go. All right. The Brandon Aayuk saga. Few weeks ago, Mike Silver, Diana Rousini, and the Athletic had that report that a divorce between Aayuk and the Ners is likely for after the season. Why? Well, the 49ers, it turned out, voided Aayuk’s 2026 guarantees in his contract for a couple of team infractions. The big notable infractions, him not showing up to rehab assignments and really not taking it seriously in the eyes of the NerS. They wanted him to rehab heavily with San Francisco and Aayuk either wouldn’t show up or he would want to do his own thing. And so he was showing up to training camp and then something happened where it got to a point where he went away and we really haven’t seen him since or heard from him since. And the Niners up until this point have not opened up his practice window. San Francisco does have a byee here in week 14. They come out of it to play the Tennessee Titans. Allah aka time is running out for Aayuk to play this year. So when John Lynch goes on the radio this morning, it was a good job by the hosts on KMBBR to ask him about BA and ask John Lynch, “Do you have any hope that Brandon Aayuk will play for the Niners this year or play for this team ever again?” Here’s what Lynch said. realistic. I’m not sure. Hopeful. Yeah, I think that’s where I’d leave that. We’re a better football team when Brandon’s out there, but that’s probably what it is. Hope right now translation, that’s not too promising. That’s not good. If anybody wanted to see 11 back in a Niners uniform, I just don’t think it’s going to happen. And when a report like that comes out and a team voids the salary of a player and that player isn’t fighting it with the NFL PA, that tells you that the team is sick of the individual and the player wants to go somebody somewhere else. And it’s crazy how quickly this has all transpired, how quickly this has all fallen apart, and how BA has gone from a great player for this Ner’s team who got better every year after being a first round pick and fighting through some things early in his career to become an allpro, a hero in the NFC Championship game to handling the contract situation in a very messy way. He went on social media multiple times that rubbed the ners the wrong way. They still paid Brandon Aayuk. And even though he got that huge contract $120 million over four years, $30 million per season, making him one of the highest paid wide outs in the NFL, which also included $76 million in guaranteed money. He was still unhappy after he signed that contract. And it felt like the ners regretted this deal almost instantly. They were fed up with BA in the leadup to the contract. Then they signed him to the contract. And BA kind of kept acting like a jackass. I mean, he got undressed on the practice field right in front of Kyle Shanahan because he didn’t wear the correct practice attire to Niners practice. Would George KD, Trent Williams, or Fred Warner ever do that? No chance. because they are leaders, they are good teammates and they’re not petulant childs and they’re very mature. And according to a bunch of reports too, and Fowler referenced this in the ESPN article, the Niners tried to trade Aayuk this past off season in the leadup to the contract. They thought about trading him and so they’ve thought about moving off of him and moving on from him for a little while. It’s also important to remember that I think Aayuk is to blame for this, for how he’s handled it, how he’s acted, but he had an opportunity to go somewhere else. He was on a rookie contract. The Niners wanted him to potentially play out the final year of that contract making around $14 million per year. He didn’t want to do that because there was no long-term financial commitment to him. And he wanted that long-term extension so that he could have some financial security. But he also requested a trade. He tweeted directly at Mike Tomlin. He put out Tik Toks of Jaden Daniels practice film and him facetiming Jaden Daniels saying, “The Ners don’t want me any longer.” But on that rookie contract, he didn’t have a no trade clause. So, the Niners had deals figured out to send him to the Cleveland Browns or the New England Patriots, and they were willing to pay Aayuk more money than the Niners were willing and ended up paying him. I said no. If you’re BA, looking at the New England Patriots right now, they have two losses on the year. Number one seed in the AFC. Drake May, it’s been a top five quarterback all year. Mike Frabel up there with Kyle Shanahan for coach of the year. That’s kind of a miss from Iayuk’s point to not go to a destination like that. And if you were so unhappy with the ners, shoot, go somewhere else. Now, there are a lot of money implications with all of this. The Niners freed up about $25 million in 2026 cap room by voiding the 2026 portion. Over the next three years, this will open up 84 to $85 million. And the ners, you can’t get past this, right? It was a disaster of a contract. They regretted it right away. Iayuk then got hurt in October. He played like crap before that and they pretty much paid him $31 million when you factor in the salary and the signing bonus for just seven games in 2024. Brock Pery and Aayuk, they developed a really good report in 2023 which led to Aayuk being an allpro player, second highest graded wide receiver in football, second in yards per catch, second consecutive year in which he went over a thousand yards. And here’s what said about IU. All the contract stuff has nothing to do with me, but it does suck because I love BA and all the moments we’ve had on the field together. They’ve been awesome. It sucks right now. It’s all gray and we don’t really know what’s going on. That’s all I can say to that. So, John Lynch saying, “Yeah, things aren’t good pretty much.” The quarterback saying, “Yeah, all of this sucks.” And I just don’t see how it gets resolved to the point where I plays for the Niners. Clearly wants to go somewhere else, not even fighting it with the NFL PA. You think he’s going to regret just giving away 25 million? I think so. So, will Aayuk ever play for San Francisco again? and a simple yes or no. Let me know down in the comments section. I always have my eyes peeled to what everybody says. Now, coming up next, what did NFL and niners insiders have to say about IUK’s future as far as a potential trade or some potential suitors? Stay tuned for that. Very interesting stuff coming up around the corner. But today’s 49ers report is brought to you by our friends at Prize Picks. So, let’s get to this. A big question right now from a lot of Niner fans. What will Brandon Aayuk’s market be if he were to be released by the Niners? Here’s what Jeremy Fowler, ESPN NFL insider, had to say about that. Somewhere on the top shelf of available free agent receivers. Wow. Dallas’s George Pickkins is considered the top option, but Dallas could take him off the market with the franchise tag. Iayuk would most likely be in the class with Alec Pierce of the Colts and Romeo Dobs of the Packers. His turbulent past two years in San Francisco must be accounted for, but he’s only 27, has a transferable skill. He’s an elite route runner, assuming he becomes healthy enough to still beat corners. One team to potentially watch out for for IU Commanders. He’s close with quarterback Jaden Daniels, his former teammate at Arizona State, and GM Adam Peters, a John Lynch disciple from his time in San Francisco, understands the IU experience very well. And I know that this thing got ugly very fast and it fell apart very quickly and a lot of fans have soured on Aayuk. This is the truth though. He was an excellent player. He was an allpro. Do not forget and lose sight of how good Aayuk was in 2023 when he was an allp pro. He got to a point where he was a top 10 wide receiver in football. And what’s so impressive about what he did in 2022 and 2023, so many wide receivers out there with so many different targets, so many different catches because those teams throw the ball so much more often than Kyle Shanahan who runs a run first offense. Yet I made the most of his opportunities and still put up back-to-back 10,00s. As far as route running goes, he’s one of the cleanest route runners in all of football. So, he will have value if he hits the open market as a free agent after this year. A common question though from fans too, Chase, why can’t the Ner’s trade Brandon Aayuk after this year? I just don’t think he has a lot of value. Number one. Number two, I don’t think the Niners have any leverage at all. Given the reporting from Mike Silver and Diana Rousini that the Niners voided Iayuk’s guarantees, this thing has soured very quickly and a divorce is likely. Other teams know that. Plus BA last year tore ACL, MCL, and Meniscus. He’s coming off a really severe injury and it looks like he’s not going to play for the entire 2025 season. Teams don’t know what his health is going to be and teams don’t know what type of individual they’re getting because the last two years have been kind of messy. So knowing that the Niners voided his guarantees, teams aren’t going to trade for an injured player who they don’t know what his health status is and they don’t want to inherit his contract. So, they’re going to wait this thing out, wait for the ners to release BA, and then they can sign him for a fraction of the price of what that contract is, which he signed last year on that $76 million guaranteed contract worth $30 million per year. 1. Jeremy Fowler needs to post the brand of what he is smoking. Coming off that injury?! He’s getting a cheap 1 year prove it deal. It might have a team option for big contract after the first year. I mean, if teams want to pay him big dollars, have fun with that.

  2. Just move on from him and move on a lot money too paid someone with that kind of attitude and he is a distraction to the team we are 9 -4 without him but I get it NFL you have injuries plane and simple case close he will regret that decision later on down the road.

  3. Whether this is old or new news ..it is what it is … those being negative…..show me a Niners news show , forum or platform that is more dedicated to the team we love more than this one. Do YOU have breaking news? 🤔🤫

  4. Aiyuk is ruining his career. Who is going to want a healthy receiver who refuses to play? He's a flake. You have to do what your boss says in every job. He's like a spoiled brat who sits out a game because he was penalized for being bad.
