“Yeah he was cross checking the back of a players head, and then threw the first punch, but he didn’t know he was in a fight!”

Keefe is mad that they found out after they f’d around and it’s nauseating

  1. Are Devils fans/announcers/staff all in a separate reality? Did we watch the same series of events?

  2. He would never crosscheck another player to the back of the head twice then start a fight after being pulled off by throwing the first punch while his teammate is holding onto his new target?

Someone’s got sour grapes that his player got rocked and that he was dumb enough to allow him back onto the ice after a clear head injury that should have ruled out a return.

  3. If Vronk didn’t catch Dillon’s arm when he did, Fantilli would have taken a second wind-up cross-check to the head/neck

  4. Got his ass whooped that’s all I saw. The other match was just a dance. Bout time some attitude comes out of the jackets. 1 point/night ain’t gonna do it in the long run. I think us as fans and them as players want to see us stop getting pushed around. So don’t start no shit there won’t be no shit. It’s hockey.

  5. I was at this game and it was insane to hear how delusional Devil’s fans were during these fights. Thinking that Voronkov and Fantilli were in the wrong is just insanity. Connor Brown took about 5 or 6 chops with his stick at a guy and Timo Meier wanted to run around like a tough guy but didn’t want to actually fight anyone. Bunch of dorks. Glad the young guys stuck up for each other.

Can’t wait to face them again with Olivier in the lineup

  6. I also saw someone say that Big Boss got tossed to the ice in the second fight as though it was vengeance for the first fight. Vronk fights twice and shows tremendous restraint in the second tilt, and NJ chalks it up as a W and has Brown come out and try to fight Z. Aston-Reece takes care of Brown, and Fantilli goes to work, and then every body on the jersey Ben h has to check to make sure their battle strap is actually attached 😂

Here is the fight that they referenced on air from when Wood was a devil. https://youtu.be/qAkUDbMuEqg?si=PMRyY0LnmVrjahdH

  7. I saw the Vronk one against Dillon. Dude threw the first punch. Vronk just finished what Dillon started. Sucks to go face first into the ice no one wants to injure injure anyone but you know what makes it so he doesn’t do that? Not throwing the first punch. Everything after that is on you.

I saw the just silly amount of fighting penalties but was there another fight? I haven’t found video anywhere.

  8. I really wanted the camera to cut to Olivier on the bench, standing up and getting mad. Then seeing Dillon and seigenthaler get dropped and realize that they don’t need the heavy machinery tonight hahah

  9. > no more honorable player in this game than Brenden Dillon

Look, I’m not happy he got hurt and I understand you’re gonna defend your guy.

but this is a really fucking silly stance to take when the player in question just got fined two fucking weeks ago for bush league bullshit and has a fairly well documented history of being a greaseball.

  10. “Jumped from behind” you mean when Vronk wrapped him up to stop that “honorable player” from sending a second cross check to Fantillis head? When Dildo Dillon sent the first punch the two were face to face.

  11. He’s the coach. Of course he’s going to defend his player. I ain’t gonna be upset about a coach or a player defending his player right after an emotionally charged game. It was the dudes 1000th game.

Something I haven’t seen discussed. Why wasn’t Dillon given a game misconduct for his jersey? It went over his head just as Siegenthaler’s did. Or did Vrok pull it off? Thought the point of the strap was to stop the jersey being pulled over the head.

  12. Does Sheldon know that there are video cameras at the game recording the whole thing? He should talk to one of these guys and see if he can get a recording.

  13. *throws first punch, clearly grappling, gets knocked out, cries, refuses to elaborate*

I thought this was a hockey game

  14. Just watched the fight. What I haven’t seen mentioned is that Dillon has major culpability in his own injury. Voronkov connected a couple punches, true, but I don’t think that’s what injured him. I think that Dillon’s pads and jersey weren’t properly strapped so when Vornnkov started swinging him around by the neck of the sweater as is standard in these fights, it bunched up around his head and immobilized his arms. So when he got pulled down to the ice, it was head first with no way to protect himself. That’s on him, not Voronkov. If he was geared properly this would not have happened the same.

  15. We knew that when they shit their pants over Johnny not signing with them.

Lotta people out there happy it was Dillon getting the knuckles. Sheldon Leafe stays losing.

  16. Listening to their broadcasters while the whole game played out was pitiful… Acting like the Devils didn’t start half that shit that popped off.

  17. What do you think his coach is gonna say? “He’s a bitch that got what he deserved? I should have reined him in sooner?”

  18. It reminds me of the incident when Cousins played for the Panthers and purposely boarded Guddy and only got a minor penalty and then turtled when he was challenged to a fight afterwards. The Panthers announcers acted like they were shocked that Guddy could be so mean to hurt poor little Cousins. Even the reporters who cover the NHL were saying Cousins was a dirty little POS

  19. The funniest part of all of this is that it could’ve easily been avoided if Jersey players knew how to wear their equipment properly.

Don’t wanna smash your face on the ice in a fight? Tighten your chin strap so your bucket stays on.

Don’t want your jersey pulled over your head while you get your shit rocked? Wear your fight strap.

  20. Guys I wish there was video of this incident … oh wait there clearly is but apparently no one in the Devils org has seen it???

  21. Keefe’s gotta be the softest coach in the league. His teams got thrown around in Toronto, and it’s happening in Jersey too.
