He was bad last year, generally awful in coverage, and he’s played 20 snaps this year. We’re better off seeing the rookies some more and letting them try to put it together than picking up a dude like this.
I’d honestly pick him up for depth. Our rookie LB’s were ranked bottom two with PFF. But it’s not my dime.
Not to oversimplify, but if a bad team is cutting a player, what is the likelihood that said player is a high caliber contributor?
It has certainly happened that team A tosses a player on the scrap heap, then the player turns into a beast. But this has a lot of “….sign former pro bowler” when the player is clearly washed headline stench.

Personally, I’ll always remember ( and cherish) the team kicking the tires on Cedric Benson- excellent college rb goes to a notorious run 1st nfl offense, struggles, ultimately cut. Everyone said bust. Not true. We wouldn’t need this guy to be the 2nd coming of Ray Lewis, we need depth badly.
The one player that at this point would improve the defense is christian Wilkins, assuming he is healthy and he doesn’t kiss his teammates anymore 🤣
