Pat Leahy – 1,470 career points (all-time leading scorer)

  1. Fun Fact:

Joe Namath and Pat Leahy were teammates in 1974.

Pat Leahy and Mo Lewis were teammates for 1 season (1991).

Mo Lewis and Brandon Moore were teammates for 1 season (2003).

Brandon Moore and Bilal Powell were teammates for 1 season (2012).

Bilal Powell and Quinnen Williams were teammates in both 2018-2019.

You can go from Namath all the way to 2025 through just six players.

  2. I didn’t start watching until 1980. At that point my dad, a fan from the Titans days, hated Leahy and explained that he always missed big kicks. FWIW, my possibly fuzzy personal recollection is that he was shaky in early 80s but actually pretty reliable in mid 80s and later.

Looked up his career stats out of curiosity. He had a lifetime FG % of 71.4% but kicking was generally worse/less reliable in his era so I’m not sure if he was materially worse than most of his peers.

  3. Not to be confused with Pat Leahy, the senator from Vermont from 1975-2023 and cameoed in multiple Batman movies or shows.
