What do you guys think of this deal with Weiss? Good depth piece, or do you think the club is bargain shopping? Or both?

It’s just a lotto ticket for spring training
Good move. No risk, high reward. Hope he does well.
Astros are bargain shopping for sure, they have no intention of spending big money this offseason (hopefully I’ll be proven wrong by this)
We got 125 innings of 3.53 ERA ball out of Jason Alexander and Brandon Walter last year. Two guys who were cut loose on waivers by their previous teams. Our pitching lab knows what it’s doing. If we proactively went out and signed this dude, there is a reason we did that. And probably a good one.
The Karankawa burial grounds located underneath the pitching mound means his elbow will explode every which way by June, but he’s gonna carve some beef until that happens.
