AND AS THE STARTING QUARTERBACK, WE NEVER SEEN THIS DEVIN. I’VE GOT THE POWER RANKINGS ABOUT THE POST AS SOON AS THE SHOW IS DONE. AND I THINK I’VE SAID SOMETHING LIKE IF IT WAS ANY OTHER TEAM AS AS TO THE CHIEFS, IF IT WAS ANY OTHER TEAM, WE’D ALL SAY THEY’RE DONE BUT THE CHIEFS AREN’T ANY OTHER TEAM. THAT’S THAT’S THE THING WE’RE LIKE, OKAY, WE UNDERSTAND YOU, YOU YOU CHANGE OUT, THE LOGOS IN THE COLORS AND WE LOOK AT THE RECORD, AND WE LOOK AT THE STATS AND WE LOOK AT THE SCHEDULE AND WE’D SAY THEY’RE DONE. LIKE AT WHAT POINT IS THE GREAT PUMPKIN NOT GOING TO SHOW UP AND AND I FEEL LIKE EVERYONE’S IN A LITTLE BIT OF DENIAL HERE, INCLUDING ANDY REID AS TO HOW DIRE THE SITUATION IS. AND IT’S FUNNY TOO BECAUSE WE CONTINUE TO JUST MOVE THE GOALPOSTS LIKE IT WENT FROM, THEY’LL BE ALL RIGHT. THEY’RE GET A STRETCH AND THEY’RE GOING TO GET WINNING TO NOW. AND, AND WHEN WE LOST THAT KIND OF MYSTIQUE OR LIKE WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL A 2019, WE GET OFF TO THIS. UNBELIEVABLE. START WE GO DOWN TO BALTIMORE THE RAVENS, EMBARRASS US. THEY TAKE IT TO US. WE RALLY A LITTLE BIT LATE, BUT WE DON’T GET IT GOING AND IN THAT SEASON ENDS WITH US WILD CARD. AND I JUST REMEMBER THE GAMES WE LOST. IT WAS JUST LIKE WE LOST. IT WAS LIKE IT, JUST IT FELT LIKE IT WASN’T PATRIOT FOOTBALL, THE CHIEFS HAVE LOST GAMES THIS YEAR. PARTICULARLY THE LAST GAME WHERE THEY LOSE TO THEY LOSE A DENVER, THEN THEY LOSE TO DALLAS AND YOU KIND OF WATCH IT AND YOU WERE THIS IS KIND OF LIKE CHIEFS FOOTBALL LIKE CLOSE GAME. THEY’RE GOING TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO WIN AND THEY’VE LOST AND I THINK THAT’S THE THING THAT WHEN YOU CONTINUE TO DIVE INTO IT AND YOU GO BACK AND YOU WATCH THE OLD 22, THERE’S NOTHING THAT’S GLARING OF. YOU’RE LIKE, MAN, THEY JUST DON’T HAVE THIS ANYMORE. THAT IT’S JUST THE GAMES THAT WE’VE BEEN ACCUSTOMED TO SEEING THEM WIN, THE WAY THE GAME FLOWS, HOW THEY PLAY? ALL OF THAT. IT’S LIKE MAN THEY GOT BACK TO THAT LIKE THIS LOOKS LIKE THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS TEAM. BUT IT’S JUST NOT WINNING, THEY’RE NOT CLOSING OUT GAMES AND I THINK THAT’S THE WEIRD THING FOR ALL OF US BECAUSE EVEN AS WE KEEP TRYING TO HANG ON TO THIS LITTLE BIT OF HOPE. BECAUSE OF PATRICK MAHOMES, HE WAS OUT THERE AGAINST DENVER, HE WAS OUT THERE AGAINST DALLAS, AND THEY DID NOT FINDING A WAY TO CLOSE GAMES, WHETHER OFFENSIVELY OR DEFENSIVELY, WHICH I THINK IS MAKING THIS SITUATION EVEN MORE REAL, THAT THERE IS GOING TO BE A CHANCE. WE DON’T SEE THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS IN THE PLAYOFFS IN AND I MEAN, THAT JUST SOUNDS STRANGE. WHEN YOU SAY IT, 1 IN 4 ON THE ROAD, THIS SEASON 3 AND 4 AGAINST AFC TEAMS TO CROSS THE BOARD. THIS ISN’T WHAT WE’RE USED TO SEEING FROM THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AND THEY’RE IN GAMES FOR THE MOST PART. THEY JUST DON’T MAKE THAT KEY PLAY IN THE KEY MOMENT THAT WE’RE USED TO SEEING AT PATRICK, HOLMES, TALKED ABOUT THAT RECENTLY AND HE EXPLAINED IT THAT WAY, AND IT LEFT ME SAYING, WHAT WHAT’S CHANGED? EVERY WEEK IS A CHALLENGE. YOU’RE NOT GOING TO HEAR A LOT OF POSITIVE FROM THE OUTSIDE COMING IN, SO YOU GOT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU YOU KNOW, YOU UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU REALLY SIT AND UH, THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT YOU HAVE UM, SIT SITTING IN ALL, THAT IS OBVIOUS AND THIS GUY’S BEEN AROUND COACHING A LOT LONGER THAN PATRICK MAHOMES HAS BEEN THE QUARTERBACK, BUT THIS IS A JARRING DIFFERENT HARD TO PROCESS HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHAT, YOU KNOW, AND WE WE TALKED WITHIN THE PAST WEEK OR 2, DEVON ABOUT THE IDEA THAT YOU KNOW, YOU GOT 3 RINGS. YOU GOT A BUNCH OF GUYS THAT HAVE PLAYED INTO FEBRUARY FOR 3 STRAIGHT SEASONS. THERE’S A CUMULATIVE FATIGUE AND MAYBE WHEN IT ALL HITS YOU, IT JUST HITS YOU HARD AND WE TALKED EARLIER ABOUT HOW THE PATRIOTS SHOWED UP WEEK 13, GOING FOR IT HITTING HARD PLAYING HARD. LIKE WHERE ARE WE GOING TO SEE THE CHIEFS COME OUT. WHEN THEY ARE IN THIS MODE OF THIS, IS IT ESPECIALLY WITH THE TEXANS COME OUT OF TOWN SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL. THE TEXANS ARE TRYING TO CLAW THEIR WAY INTO PLAYOFF, CONTENTION, TRYING TO WIN THAT DIVISION, THEY’RE GOING TO BE A DANGEROUS TEAM IF THEY GET IN THIS, YOU KNOW I EVERY WEEK IT’S LIKE, THIS IS THE ULTIMATE TEST FOR THE CHIEFS. THIS IS THE ULTIMATE TEST FOR THE CHIEFS. THIS IS THE ULTIMATE TEST FOR THE CHIEFS AT SOME POINT. THERE’S NO MORE TESTS. AND IT REMINDS ME BACK TO OPENING WEEKEND WHERE IN PHILADELPHIA AND MATT, CASEY, OUR PRODUCER, HE HAS A QUESTION LINED UP IN THE SEGMENT AND ITS HEY ARE THE CHIEFS BETTER THIS YEAR. AND I REMEMBER OUR CONVERSATION WENT, KIND OF LIKE, YES, THEY ARE BETTER, BUT THE BIGGEST TROUBLE FOR THEM IS EVERYBODY ELSE IS BETTER AND I THINK WE KEEP SEARCHING FOR WHAT’S GOING WRONG. YOU JUST SAID IT. LIKE ARE THEY OLDER? ARE THEY FULL AND CONTENT? I JUST THINK THE OTHER TEAMS, THE DENVER BRONCOS, THE LA CHART, LIKE THOSE TEAMS ARE NOW BETTER. SO NOW THEY FEEL LIKE, HEY, IT’S OUR TIME, THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS FEEL LIKE IT’S THEIR TIME. I THINK THAT’S WHAT’S SHOWING COLTS, BUT IT WAS ANOTHER GAME WHERE WE’RE LIKE, MAN, ARE THEY GOING TO GET OUT OF THIS TEST? AND WE’RE SEEING THAT AND I THINK NOW YOU JUST MENTIONED IT TO HOUSTON TEXANS. THEY’RE ANOTHER TEAM WHO FEELS LIKE THEIR TIME IS NOW JAGUARS. THAT WAS A HUGE GAME. THEY HEY, THIS IS OUR TIME. SO I JUST THINK WE, WE SAID IT, WE PREDICTED IT EARLY IN THE SEASON THAT THIS WAS GOING TO BE A CHALLENGING SEASON FOR KANSAS CITY BECAUSE THESE OTHER TEAMS SPECIALLY IN THEIR DIVISION, THEY’RE BETTER AND THEY’RE HERE THINKING THIS IS NOW OUR DIVISION AND IT’S NOT GOING TO GET EASIER BECAUSE I DO BELIEVE EVERY TEAM IN THE AFC, VERY SIMILAR TO WHEN TOM BRADY WAS THERE WAS HEY, THERE’S A WAY WE CAN KEEP THESE GUYS OUT AND MAKES IT BETTER FOR EVERYONE, TRYING TO MAKE IT TO THE SUPER BOWL. AND I THINK THEY’RE GOING TO GET HOUSTON’S BEST SHOT EVERYBODY THAT’S LEFT ON THEIR SCHEDULE IS GOING TO SAY HOW CAN WE MAKE SURE THIS TEAM IS ON VACATION

  3. Officiating is above board this year so it was inevitable that KC would have been 6-6. Offensive holding and Roughing the passer are being called and not being called respectively.

  5. Andy, your stubbornness to not run the ball already costed enough games and the Chiefs are in this situation. Having said that, we need to change the defense play calling and the LBs too.

  7. This narrative that the Chiefs are old is wrong. The only old players are Kelce, Chris Jones and Mike Pennel. They have a bunch of 25 and under players. Starting LT and #1 slot CB are rookies

  9. As a lifelong Chiefs fan, the issue is Matt Nagy. Dude has no business being an OC in this league. Andy Reid has been too loyal for too long to his guys. It's time for a reset.

  14. Because everyone is losing they have 1 more loss, it is over, other than tie breaker backing in, if they lose that game to the Texans. They would be 2 games behind 4 teams for 3 spots and the Texans holds a tie breaker. The problem is they are a offensive, passing team and Kelce is their leading receiver with 1000 yards and 80 catches so they are an older team without a lot of talent. They are the ones who should have traded and eventually signed Pickens, Mahomes is spreading the ball around and Stroud will be the reason they beat the Texans because I doubt they clear 21 points.

  22. Chiefs will show who is best. The hard part is that it may not be the Chiefs in the AFC. Sure scrounging is key, but last year WE lost to the Raiders on Christmas Day and still won the AFC. This year is different, coach knows it; players know it. I think the Chiefs scounge in the PO, but just may lose the POs…

  23. The SB being 40-6 shattered the mental edge the chiefs had over every team for over a year, all these close games they lose would have been wins because the other teams would have thought it’s inevitable, very big psychological advantage they used to have

  28. Over the years, the postseason Chiefs went on massive scoring drives in final minutes. But the confusing thing was always the inability of opposing teams, who had been moving ball well all game, to even get a first down to close out the game. Dak last week got the end-of-game first downs by playing aggressively. Brady did the same in his day.

    How many games have we watched in which a Chief's opponent was satisfied being up either 2 or 3 points and you knew the Chiefs would nail a last-second field goal to beat the chumps. Keep it out of Mahome's hands. One first down is usually all it takes.

  30. It’s absolutely fair to question if the same refs that enabled the Chiefs 7 years of dominance are leading to their demise.

    I don’t think it’s a coincidence the Chiefs are 6-6, just as betting is allowed in Missouri.

  31. This is the NFL, a professional league. The reason dynasties usually don't go beyond 3 to 4 years is because teams finally figure out how to beat them. That happened in the Super Bowl last year. The Chiefs are now predictable and need to a complete reboot next season.

  34. Andy is doing his BEST to be positive and inspirational. Unfortunately this ship have sailed this season and Chiefs won’t make the playoffs. Chiefs are playing number one and 2 defenses within 4 weeks with shaky offensive line, no pass rush, and below average running game. It will be a miracle if Chiefs make it to the playoffs.

  37. When Broncos play Chiefs football, they suck and nobody can see how they will get past the first round of the playoffs. When the Chiefs play Broncos football, they are a great team and they will still win the AFC.
