Can we retire this argument already? Yes, the Dolan family is extremely wealthy. Yes, the team is consistently bottom 10 in payroll. The two things aren’t related.
None of these owners fund their teams out of their own pockets. If that were the case, then Steinbrenner’s measly $1.6B would make him the most generous owner/dumbest businessman in the sport.
