WHAT Are The Spurs NOT TELLING US!?

Spurs fans, it appears Victor Wemanyama may miss the entire NBA Cup. I just don’t get it. What is up, San Antonio Spurs fans? Welcome to TSR Sports. We got some news last night. I’m going to take a little bit with a grain of salt, but right now it seems to be tracking. So, you know what? Let’s just get into it. This is from San Antonio Express News beat writer Jeff McDonald giving his timeline on WBY on Woryama’s return. Well, I guess it’s better than Hector Banana Bread. My semiinformed guess if I have to bet my house on WMY playing next week for the NBA Cup, I’d bet against. If I have to bet on being back by Christmas, I think it’s a cold stone lock. I got to say, I’m used to hearing Stone Cold because of the wrestler all the time. Seeing it cold stone is messing with my mind. Best bet is it’s somewhere in the middle of those two tent poles. All right, here’s the San Antonio Spurs schedule Spurs fans. And hey, we are five and two without WBY. Even beating the Denver Nuggets in which I got to say is easily the best game of the season. Is it not? Maybe one of our best wins in years. I don’t know. But we’re 5-2. There’s our upcoming schedule with some winnable games. Certainly beat the Grizzlies tonight. Jeep plug will be live at 800 pm Eastern. Orlando, maybe. Cleveland, probably not. New Orleans is a mess, so can beat them as well. Then the NBA Cup games, it might get pretty rough without WBY if he’s not playing. But we’ve already proved we can beat good teams such as Denver when all our guys are on. Let’s get back to Victor Wyama. last played on November 14th versus the Golden State Warriors, which I hate to bring that game up because that one that game hurt. That was a tough loss. Projected, I guess, to maybe to come back at the earliest if we’re going by what Jeff is saying, December 17th, which would be the first game after the cup and a week before Christmas. Which means if this report is accurate or his reporting is accurate, LM is going to miss all this time from November 16th to there’s going to be at least I believe two more cup games that are not listed there, right? So in total that would mean he’s missing at least 14 games. Spurs fans. 14. That’s a lot more than I thought he would be missing. I thought it would be 10 or less. This right here is Dylan Harper’s basketball reference game log. Dylan missed 10 games from November 5th to November 23rd, got injured November 2nd, made his return on November 26th. Missed 10 games and he had been wearing a walking boot immediately after he was injured. I thought he was going to be out longer. Heck, I didn’t even know WBY was injured in that Golden State Warriors loss. You know that Brandon Brandon Puduchki trip game. injured. Didn’t even know he wasn’t wearing a boot. Dylan needed about 23 days to heal up. Based on Jeff’s timeline, he’s going to need over 30. Does that mean Victor Wemanyama’s injury is actually worse than Dylan Harper’s? And and Spurs fans, I get he’s a franchise and yes, he’s very tall. He’s an anomaly, but what are the Spurs not telling us? What exactly is going on? This date here is when I thought he’d be back. I’ve been talking about a lot in the live streams. You guys come in and say, “TSR, when do you think WHM is going to be back?” And I’m looking at the timeline. I’m like, December 5th or December 8th makes sense. That’s three weeks to heal, right? We thought the injury was definitely not as worse as Dylan’s because Dylan had the walking boot. Most of us didn’t know Webby was injured in the Golden State Warriors game until after the fact. So, this seemed like a reasonable timeline like Webby will be back for the cup. He’s going to be okay. No, no. If their support is accurate, that’s more than a month. You know, maybe that I don’t know what Spurs say. I’m at a loss for words to see this news that’s coming in. And of course, there could be some things going on here. Maybe the Spurs are being overly overly cautious with their WVP or or and this is what I’m hoping no offense Jeff McDonald he is wrong and Victor Wmanyama is back for the NBA Cup. I otherwise I got nothing. Um I got to report the news and I have nothing. I I’m I’m a little lost for words because to have this come out last night and thank you uh Phil for sending this on the Twitters to me to see that I was like I was so pumped up to have WMY back for the NBA Cup. And listen, the NBA Cup in the scheme of things doesn’t mean anything. But it’s a nice it’s a nice bonus for the players. They get some money. The rookies get some money. The G- League two-way contract players get some money. And you know, even though it’s not an NBA championship, we can say, “Okay, our team won our team won the inseason cup. All right, great. We we beat good teams is really the thing. If you win the NC cup, you likely bought you likely beat good teams on your way there and in the cup itself. And now if he’s going to miss the entire NBA cup, it just keeps making me asking myself, that’s why it’s on the thumbnail, what is going on? What are the Spurs not telling us? Because they haven’t actually been the most upfront organization in regards to the injury handling of their players. And I get it. That doesn’t need to be public knowledge. HIPPA da da da. They don’t have to be out there and be like, “This is what’s happening. this they just can kind of give us they can be vague if they want to and they are being vague but it does concern me with our unicorn our Webby that his timeline is longer than Dylan Harper’s when the eyeball test told me that Dylan Harper would be out longer than WBY and I know somebody’s going to ask on the video TSR what’s the update with Stefon Castle he’s out tonight your guess is as good as mine I hopefully this is not the same thing happening with Wendy where the Spurs and or the initial reporting is Castle out for one to two weeks and next thing we know some weird report comes on comes in from some Spurs beat writer that Castle’s actually going to be out until January 1st you’re going to be out till you know hopefully we don’t get one of those type of things. I don’t want to do any more videos like this the rest of the season. I seriously don’t. So again, I hope Jeff is wrong. No offense to him. And when he’s good to go for the NBA Cup, guys, let me know. I don’t follow Jeff McDonald from I think it’s the San Antonio Express News. How accurate is he with his beat reporting, his inside reporting? Is he, and I’m not trying to, you know, knock him down anyway anyway, but whenever we get stories from him, is this something that’s credible where we can go, okay, there’s some gravy will be out longer than expected or is he just, you know, throwing stuff out there to get you to read the articles essentially? I don’t know. Let me know because I’m very curious because this is this sucks, man. I want to see WMY. We missed WBY for half the season last year. He played 46 games. That’s just over half. We get Webby at the start of the season having some WBP type games. Darren Fox comes back now and it’s like we just can’t win. We have been winning, but we can’t win in regards to the facts that we can’t get Webby and Fox on the court at the same time. I get it with last season with WBY’s medical issue. Fox came injured. It was not expected they would share much court time last season, but this season high hopes were that they would be spending a lot of time together and we would have our Batman and Robin. Fox started the season injured, missed what, nine games. Comes back, plays a few games with WBY. I actually don’t know. I look it up. How many games did they play together, guys? I’m going to guess. I’m not going to look it up. Webby and Fox. Is it three to four? Is that it for this season? I don’t think it’s more than that. I think it’s three or four. Let me know in the comments down below how how close I am. I’m pretty darn sure it’s less than five. So, I’d like to see them both on the court at the same time, both healthy to see what they actually can do and unleash the the devastating fury on the NBA. I know that’s all I got. I’ll see you tonight. I hope this is it for any type of bad or potential bad women news for the rest of the season. Hit the thumbs up if you like to help support the channel and subscribe to become part of our awesome Spurs community. I thank you and as always, go Spurs. Go.

Is something seriously wrong with Wemby? The Spurs are not giving us straight answers. In this video, I’ll break down the latest updates on his injury and the strange silence coming from the San Antonio Spurs.
Is this just a minor setback… or something much bigger?

  1. Well, if the spurs are winning without him, i'm going to have to say let him sit out until it is a 100% guarantee, he can play the rest of the season!!! Including playoffs if that's what we're all wanting right!!!

  2. Comparing Wemby to Harper might be irrelevant. I mean, he's an anomaly as you said. Regular analysis don't work here I guess. I think they're overprotecting him (at least I hope so). He's still very young and maybe need to reinforce his build to live through what actual NBA requires. In France, I've heard he should be back on December 10th. Which makes sense to me to fight against the Lakers.

  3. Rich, I really think that you are overreacting on Wemby.
A grade1 calf injury is between 2 and 4 weeks. Let's take 3 weeks… this would mean a comeback around the 5th of december. But the 6th of december, there is a game at Cleveland, which is not the best place to be back (a duel against Mobley).
In conclusion, if I would take the decision for the Spurs' management, I would choose the Pels for Victor to come back.

But this comeback date depends also on the Spurs' target for the NBA Cup. If the Spurs want to put some efforts to win it, Wemby will be back against the Pels (to be ready against the Lakers).
If the NBA Cup is not the objective but a direct playoff qualification is definitely the main Spurs' objective, what is the point to make Victor taking any risks during this competition.
His comeback could then be pushed back to the 18th of december against the Wizards (two additional weeks to rest and train).

Btw there is a particular rule of the NBA Cup : the quarter-final and the semi-final are counting as regular season games. Instead of three games this season initially, the Spurs will play four times against the Lakers and if the Spurs win and play against OKC in semi-final, they will play in total 5 times against OKC this season.
If someone could explain me which games will be retrieved from the Spurs' schedule to match the final total of 82 games (I didn't find the information in the NBA Cup rules), it could be interesting to understand if the Spurs have an interest or not to make efforts to win this NBA Cup (what would be the point to add a fifth game against OKC to finally retrieve a game against the Jazz for example… ? Surely a loss versus a win !).

There is also the possibility that Wemby would miss the Lakers' game but would be back against OKC in case of a win against the Lakers because suddenly the NBA Cup win could become a target.

PS : We should take into account that the last two winners of the NBA Cup have not performed well in post-season !!! Spending energy and potentially one or more important players trying to win the NBA Cup would be very counter-productive…
I am not really sure that the Spurs' management will put tons of efforts to win the NBA Cup…

  4. Guys I was scared to say this but the spurs organization is probably masking his blood clots for a calf strain…. Prove me wrong but you do not need to be out this long.. to heal from an injury like this… I saw another creator say this and he could be out for season 🫠

  5. Honestly, this is the best thing long-term allowing the other guys to develop and run the show. We gotta be able to play consistent basketball in. Victor is not on the court, especially in the playoffs.

  6. Wemby can still improve his game while he is out injured. NBA players, like Wemby, can learn a lot by watching film and training while injured, as it's a valuable opportunity to improve their basketball IQ and refine their skills. Analyzing game footage allows them to study opponents, understand plays, and identify personal weaknesses, and refine their game, while focused training can help with injury prevention in the future. Meanwhile, his teammates have been keeping the team in good position to still accomplish their goals for this season.

  7. I don’t see a issue. We all know he has an ankle sprain . He needs to not play so it dosent get worse and become a torn akilis. I expect him not to play at least for 2/3 weeks. Your ankle has a sprain& and it basically your body has to forget about it thats why he needs to not play. On top of that he is a very large man and thats double the possibility of a tear. Wow over a month sorry I write this before I heard this from you . He just needs to rest that chasing down Steph, getting tripped & draymond took a toll on him

  8. Personally I feel like the Spurs are showing a few things.
    1. They aren't going to let a tournament that means absolutely nothing get in the way of Wemby's health and safety. They kind of are giving the NBA the bird and telling them too bad.
    2. They know Wemby is going to be the highest paid player in NBA history. That's also why they pushed to get the new stadium approved. They want Wemby in their new stadium with a giant long term contract. They are (and the rest of the NBA) are terrified of Wemby making a new super-team in LA. They will assure him that the Spurs organization has his best interests at heart.

  9. Was he injured from that chop block from thar Goldebstate guy. If so they should take out curry, GS has injured SA player before on purpose

  10. This era is soft and weak. Better doctors, technology, medical advancements, load managing, air travel, nutrition, less back to backs, soft rules… and yet they can't play anywhere near a full season. Either because of injury, fatigue, or load management.

  11. This is good for the team. If he goes down in the playoffs then they dont have to learn on the fly they can just look back at the tape and know how to deal with it.

Remember fellow Spurs fans the front office plays chess not checkers. The season is a marathon and remember what happened to Kawhi before he quit they definitely dont want to repeat the same mistake.

  12. If you're a new Spurs fan you'll come to learn that this organization doesn't say anything until the last minute. They are the worst with letting people know about anything. They look at the media as adversaries

  13. …he doesn't know his guess is just as good as ours…spurs haven't said anything about castle or wemby and they didn't say anything about when Harper was coming back…Friday will be wembys 10th game missed and on the 7th will be his 3rd week missed…I think he'll come back for the pelicans game on the 8th…and castle will come back for the Lakers game…by then both would have missed 10 games and three weeks like Dylan Harper did…they should be back by this weekend…after all Mitch Johnson said they're practicing already…he said the same a week before Harper came back

  14. There was no reason to put Wemby on a minutes restriction his rookie year, no reason to shut him down for the entire season after a freak situation with a blood clot last year, and no reason to miss a whole month just for a minor calf strain this year. Spurs are babying him.

  15. "If only you knew the power of the Dark Side." "Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." Suffering is Wemby not. — Welcome to the conspiracy. The water is warm. … I'm in your head. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 // Third option that isn't Chicken Little, the Spurs are seeing that the team can win without Wemby. The ball is moving more. The team is coming together. So let it ride. Steve Kerr said that the new NBA is a developmental league. People don't know the game. Wemby gets stats, but he does not know the game. Let the team grow as Wemby gets individualized attention/instruction.

  16. I don't get the Excuse Noise and rarely check their website…. That dumpster fire of a city is only slightly better than its cousin to the north. (Yes, I've got fire insurance & a lot of neighbors with guns around. I think we can manage this 2-front war.) So, all I can say is that he's been reporting on the Spurs for nearly 2 decades. Dude must have connections. So… a well-manicured grapevine or SI?

  17. Da problem is we as fans have no clue what really ever goes on behind closed doors. We have idea how bad or 4 how long da injured will B out just like we have no idea if the front office is gonna settle, which I truly hope they aren't, or will they( which I really hope) try to land that 3 N D cat like a Trey Murphy 3? R they even trying as at least calling other teams up? Also we have no clue what they plan to do with Sochen R they on a trade package or let him walk. Just so frustrating not knowing anything. Da only thing we know for sure SA will not b moving to Austin, Las Vegas or Nashville despite that loser mayor of ours.
