How does the NHL actually allow this to happen???

All right, Kuck Sharks has concluded. I want to start off by saying that this had the potential to be a very fun and exciting game, but enter the main official for this game, Garrett Rank, who decided he wanted to make it all about himself. Really ruined the game for both teams. because I do really think that on both sides there were a ton of questionable calls, things that didn’t really make a whole lot of sense and it just escalated as this game went on and on to the point where at the end of the game it just completely boiled over and that is a clear sign of a referee that has lost control of the game. It stemmed from a moment in the second period where the Vancouver Conucks were up. Quinn Hughes felt like he was hooked on the play, had a word for the referee, and he calls an unsportsmanlike penalty because he had his feelings hurt. Now, it’s one thing to call an unsportsmanlike penalty for something that a player says to another player on the other team. I think that’s totally fair if that crosses the line. But if you say something to an official and he gets bitter at that, that says a lot about them and how they probably feel about themselves. very insecure to feel the need to call a penalty on that. It happened a couple weeks ago. The same referee Garrett Rank on Connor Baddard. Absolutely a penalty here. The ref doesn’t make the call. Baddard gets pissed as he should. Has a word. And he ends up being the one taking a penalty for abusing official quote unquote. Just ridiculous. That should never be in the game. Ray Ferraro said it best himself. If it was a veteran official, they wouldn’t have been phased by it. And that was ultimately a turning point in the game because as a result of that penalty that the Vancouver Canucks took, they took another one for tripping which led to a five-on-ree. Sharks tied it up and they ended up scoring two goals on that power play because the first one hadn’t expired to make it a 3-2 game. After that point, the ref probably felt the need to even it out and he ended up calling a ton of penalties on both sides that really probably weren’t penalties. And it got really ugly and inconsistent from there. In the third period, Mlin Celibbrini with a clear chicken wing elbow on Maxone. No call, but then later on he gets called for a light cross check on Heronic, which I didn’t think was a penalty. And he got another two on top of that for unsportsmanlike. It just didn’t make a lot of sense. At the end of the game, it got really bad as there was scrums in front. Person’s getting cross checked in the back three times and he takes a penalty for roughing. So, we don’t have our top center with a couple of seconds to go to draw it back. But listen, as much as I want to harp on the refs, and I do think that they did really ruin the game, the Canucks had so many opportunities on the power play and they just couldn’t get it going. The power play has been pretty good as of late, but it did not show up today and the penalty kill remains a huge liability on this team. To be fair, yes, they did have to deal with a five on three. That’s never easy for any team. But before that, they still couldn’t figure out how to deal with that back door pass. other teams are exploiting us because we’re not taking the pass. If I was a video coach, I’d be hammering down on that. I don’t know what they’re telling them on that penalty kill. So, I don’t know. I want to hear your thoughts in the comment section down below. The Conucks played all right at points in this game, but I’m still yet to see a 60-minute effort. Elias Person, I got a comment on that. Very nice goal to give the Conucks a 2-1 go ahead. He’s getting his creativity back. He needs to start shooting a little bit more on that power play, though. And that starts with Hughes feeding him the puck. I love Quinn Hughes. He’s the best player on the team obviously, but he does force a lot of shots and I feel like at times he is trying to do a little bit too much. Maybe I’m off the mark, but you let me know down below. It’ll be a short one today. The Kush are back at it tomorrow against the LA Kings. Give me your thoughts on this team overall. Thank you for watching. Subscribe if you’re new. Peace out and take care.

the Vancouver Canucks lose to the San Jose Sharks in a close game where the refereeing was very suspect on both sides. Quinn Hughes was in the box for talking to the ref and the game spiralled from there. Give me your thoughts in the comments.

  1. This team is done. Honestly I'd see if Detroit wants Hughes and trade him for Raymond, ASP, and a first. Get rid of Sherwood for a first, Kane for a used jock strap, Myers for a tub of Icy Hot. Next, I'm firing our Stanley Cup winning "defenseman" coach. How is our penalty kill dead last with guys like Foote and Dean running things?Call up Mancini, and let Pettersson and Hronek lead the defense. Raymond, EP40, Lekkerimaki would be one hell of a line. If Cootes keeps developing the way he is, I'd almost start him next year with Boeser and Debrusk. I have no idea what to do with Chytle though.

  2. Too many officials on the ice. Four of them? ??? There are only five skaters a side! Ridiculous!. One ref..two linesmen. They just get in the way. No other sport do the officials get in the way so often. One ref two linesman. Free up the ice. PS: EP40 most likely to score a hat trick falling down. "Creativity" LMAO. Falling is not creative.

  3. WTF was the Petey roughing call at the end of the game? Also, Hughes needs to pass the puck to EP40 on the PP. Petey likes this play where he takes the pass passes it back to the blue line, finds some space, gets a pass back and fires a one timer. He's done it so many times with Filip Hronek who passes him the puck. For Hughes, when he passes Petey the puck he gets the pass back and Petey has his stick up and ready for the one timer and Hughes just either shoots a shot that get blocked or passes it to Garland/Boeser instead. I think this is some type of miss communication

  4. Yes, a poorly officiated game, both ways, but this would have been a much better intro had you actually shown Garrett Rank at the beginning when talking about him rather than Riley Brace, who wears #49. Also, it was not the same referee who made the call on Bedard, that one was Justin Kea.

  5. sharks fan, the entire second half of the game was a ref show and ruined what probably would have been a great game, glad we were able to come out with 2 points but god those refs are horrible, if it went the other way id be pissed so dont blame nuks fans that are. Refs make a soft ass call on quinn, then have to call an obvious trip making it a 5-3 effectivly giving the sharks1.5 of their goals. Then they dont cann an obvcious crosscheck that would have made it a 5v2 against the nuks. then they keep giving soft cals either way, and wtf was that ending? gotta give em a shot and put the faceoff in the zone lmfao, ggs nucks sry the game ended with a refshow

  6. Your take on the unsportsmanlike is completely wrong. I am a former ref, players do not have the right to abuse us in any way including verbally. Any curse word in our direction is grounds for a penalty. Just because refs understand things get emotional and don’t make the call most of the time doesn’t mean they should not.
Players can talk smack to each other all they want on the other hand and there is no penalty for that. Unless it’s something egregiously out of line like threats to family or blatant racism. And even then it would be a misconduct of some type and not an unsportsmanlike

  7. Refs are the reason why I don't watch much hockey anymore. Worst officiating in any sport.except soccer. All officials have to be accountable also. Not congratulated by bettman

  8. Its pretty obvious that all sports have betting involved are being called from Vegas. Baseball is prob the last bastion cause its so hard to control hitting. A millisecond late turns a home run into a fly ball.

  9. You are def on the mark on Hughes overhandling the puck on the pp. Thought he was the SJ no1 penalty killer in this game and effectively killed most one timer opportunities by hanging on to the puck one or two seconds too long. Love his skating and vision down the ice but as a qb on the pp he's closer to average.

  10. Canucks always have the worst officials.. does anyone remember Magoo?LOL. A real clown.. games are decided by officiating..and ifs the TIMING of the penalty in the game..its american biased for sure. No money in vancouver. Just ask betman..its all about money.. canucks are ripe for the entertainment. Always exciting but always lose..nothing better than a come from behind home ice win..
