Things Just Got VERY INTERESTING For The Cleveland Browns…

[Music] [Music] Things just got very interesting for the Cleveland Browns. What if I told you that Browns Titans has some major implications for the Browns future in the NFL draft going forward? Welcome into the show everybody. I am your host Joey Odonahue. And before we get into this, this is why you hit that sub button cuz we’re going to be live for Browns Titans. Shador versus Cam Ward. Hit that sub button so you don’t miss this one. There’s a lot to watch for in the back half of this Cleveland Browns season. We’re going to talk about if Shadore Sanders can prevent the Browns from drafting a quarterback. Lots to look at here, but the first thing I want to show you guys is this photo of draft odds to land in the top 10 or the top five. Well, you see Cleveland nearly a 100% chance to get a top 10 pick at this point. I’m sure they’re not being projected to win many more games, but even so, there’s only a few left on the schedule. And they’ve got over a 70% chance that that pick is a top five pick. The Titans have nearly locked up the top pick in the draft with having the worst record in football. And so, a win or loss this Sunday would change these and shake things up. If you look at the updated order right now, Titans have the one, but they play the Browns. Cleveland, we’re picking number five. And the Giants, who just lost um on on Monday night, they have 11 losses, they’re picking at two. The Saints three. And the Raiders, who Cleveland actually beat in Shador’s first start. So, they have the quote unquote tiebreaker in draft order over us. The New York Jets though, who we lost to when Dylan Gabriel was our starter still, they have the same record at three and nine, but we are ahead of them in the draft order because we lost to them. So, there’s a lot to look at here through the last few games of the season. But the biggest question for Cleveland is if we do end up with that top five pick or first first round pick as a top five, what will they do? What direction will they go in? Is it quarterback? Daniel Yafussi of ESPN had this to say. Yes, the Browns could draft a quarterback, but the Browns could find themselves picking behind several QB needy teams if Shidor Sanders can lead them to a few victories down the stretch. But with the two firstrounders and 10 total picks, the Browns could also have the draft capital to move up if they covet a particular quarterback prospect. I’m gonna outline for you guys right now on the show. What will it take for Cleveland to draft a quarterback early in the first round with that top five pick? Let’s get into it. I’m literally going to break it down right now. How does this happen? The first way this depends on Shador Sanders entirely. If they’re going to draft a quarterback, that would mean Shador’s fate is in his hands right now in Cleveland. He’s guaranteed to start this Sunday against the Titans. We have no word from Stfansky if he’s going to start the rest of the season, but I think it’s likely he gets multiple games, if not finishes out the season for Cleveland. Gabriel sort of didn’t improve through five starts. If Shadore can show improvement, if he can show flashes, he might be able to be the starter day one next year. Remember what Adam Shft told us. Shador first can earn the rest of the year by playing well. played well in that Raiders game, Niners game. There’s some things to clean up, but there’s some things to clean up for every single member of the Clinton Browns on offense and special teams that day. So, we’ll see what he does against Tennessee and going forward. But Mary Kay, Browns beat reporter, says that Shidor Sanders has a shot to convince the Browns they don’t need to draft the first round quarterback. He can absolutely do that if he continues to build on his performance from the week before. I think that’s the main point here is if he shows the flashes, if he shows improvement, game after game after game, well then Cleveland won’t waste one of their top picks on a quarterback if they think that they can roll with him for the next year. So, he has a chance to do that. The next thing you’re going to look at for the Cleveland Browns, though, do you love a quarterback? Because I think this is a couple that could absolutely change everything. If you’re scouting, you fall in love with one of the top guys. There’s only two I would really be into. Fernando Mendoza and Dante Moore. Mendoza a bigger quarterback. A lot of analysts have him as the quarterback that’s going to go first in the NFL draft. I mean, 6’5, he’s got the frame that Cleveland has lacked at the quarterback position. His stats this year, he’s got 32 touchdowns. It’s kind of enticing the top prospect in the draft according to many. And then you look at Dante Moore. What’s interesting about him, another Oregon quarterback, he’s from East Cleveland, a Cleveland native, also a little bit bigger, 6’3″, 206 pounds. And Mel Kyper, the most notable draft analyst of them all, has Dante Moore as his number one prospect right now. That’s right. He has him over Mendoza. And so those are the only two that you could maybe convince me to take. And really Mendoza would probably be the favorite here. Outside of that, I don’t love this class as much. And I still think, you know, Mendoza last year probably would have gone after Cam Ward, right? Like this is not a great overall class. So you have to absolutely fall in love with a quarterback. I believe if you’re Andrew Barry in the Cleveland Browns front office, if they are going to draft one and it depends on how Shador Sanders plays, if he doesn’t play well or improve on this back half of the season, well then they might take that shot. The last reason I’m going to tell you guys about, I promise you’re not going to want to miss this one. It kind of puts it all into perspective. But before I hop into that, want to give a special shout out to today’s sponsor. And this episode is brought to you by Prize Picks. It is the holiday season, the best time of year for sports. Bowl games, basketball matchups, playoff pushes, it is all happening at once. And while you and I are out here making decisions every day, what gifts to buy, what to eat, which game to watch, there is one place where it feels good to be right. Prize picks. I love this app, man. It’s fun. I win money. And Cover Browns helps me know what picks to make. When the coaches said, “We got to get Jerry Judy more involved,” I went more on his projections against the Jets. And I was right. When Cleveland plays a bad run defense, I’m all in on Quinn Sean Judkins. And new feature alert, Prize Picks now has early payouts. If your lineup gets off to a hot start, you may now have the option to cash out those winnings before the game even finishes. Price Pix is simple to play. Just pick more or less on at least two player stats. If you get your picks right, you could cash in. I’m trying to do that this week with my lineup. Give me more on half an interception for Cam Ward against our Browns defense. And then finally, I got Quinn Sean Judkins. More than half a touchdown. I think he gets in the end zone this week. and Shadore. Give me the more on half a passing touchdown and more than 124 and a half passing yards. That’s my lineup. You can make one just like it if you download the prize picks app today and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That is code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. Something I don’t think we’re talking about enough here is the cost of drafting a quarterback early in the first round and the Browns have some prices to pay next year with Deshun Watson still on the WA roster. So Cam Ward was this this year’s first overall pick. He’s getting a deal that’s worth over $40 million. That’s the thing about these early first round top five pick quarterbacks. They get $40 million deals. You have to love them. You have to say this is your guy. It’s an investment. If you’re drafting Fernando Mendoza with a top five pick, you’re going all in on the guy. That’s what the Titans are doing with Cam Ward. I don’t think they’re going to draft another quarterback this year. No, with that top pick. Maybe they’ll draft our guy out of Ohio State, Arl Reese, who’s looking pretty fire. But with Deshun Watson on the roster for Cleveland, we are still paying this man all of next year. He has a cap hit of over $80 million next season. I’m not kidding. That’s what we have to pay him next year. And so he’ll be on the roster through to 2027, which means we finally out of it after 2026 when Watson’s a free agent again. Well, maybe, just maybe, Cleveland is waiting for that 2027 draft class to go all in and get their franchise quarterback and get their guy. couple Ohio State Buckeye prospects that will be eligible then. Julian Seai, Jeremiah Smith. Smith, I’d be shocked if he doesn’t become a top five pick by the time he’s eligible. Fortunately, it won’t be next year. Um, Seai obviously won’t be eligible this year as well, but two years later, that draft class might be one of the best we’ve seen in a while. Some other notable QBs that’ll probably go in 2027. Arch Manning, I think more likely than not, will stay at Texas this year and then get drafted a year after. Dylan Ryola, DJ Lagway, there’s a lot of bigname quarterbacks that could be coming in two years draft. So, why if you’re the Cleveland Browns when you have so many other issues, especially on offense, especially your coaching staff, by the way, make some changes there. But are is it worth the investment to go all in while you’re still paying Deshun Watson on a quarterback like Mendoza or Dante Moore? Those are the only two I would maybe swing with if I’m the Cleveland Browns. So, you got to think about the cost. And let’s sum this up here once and for all. How do the Browns draft a quarterback? Would they do it? Well, number one, it all depends on what Shador Sanders does. He can earn himself the rest of this year. he could earn himself the starting job if he balls out and shows improvement on the back half of this season. If he does not, there’s two quarterbacks that could sway their mind. I think it’s Fernando Mendoza and Dante Moore. I honestly haven’t seen enough of Tai Simpson for me to say he’s a guy you should draft in the first round. I think it’s Mendoza or Moore are the only two that could persuade me. And finally, you think about the cost of it all. Are those two quarterbacks that you have to use probably a top five pick for, are they worth that high of a pick and the investment and the money with a stacked 2027 class incoming? Perhaps would it make more sense for the Cleveland Browns to trade down a top five pick, load up on first round picks for next year and draft all offensive linemen and wide receivers and a corner this year. if Shadore shows you enough that he can be the guy for at least next year. And heck, maybe they’re going back to Watson, too. Don’t forget about that mess. So, be the GM for me. Browns fans, what should they do with all that taken into consideration? Comment below what you would do in this year’s draft if you’re Andrew Barry and the Cleveland Browns. Hopefully that made you think a little bit today’s show because this will be a story we’ll be monitoring all season long, all off season. Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders reportedly has an opportunity to start for the Browns and earn himself not only the rest of the 2025 NFL season, but prevent the Cleveland Browns from drafting a quarterback in the 1st round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza and Oregon QB Dante Moore are enticing options, but outside of that, Shedeur Sanders can prove his worth and perhaps the 2027 NFL Draft class filled with Ohio State University Buckeyes is more appealing to the Cleveland Browns, who are still paying Deshaun Watson next season. 1. Good video but why didn't you at least talk about how many 1st round picks we have and using those o-line. Conklin is still too injury prone everyone else is so old. We need a good WR too. What about the strategy of sitting a rookie QB and letting him develop behind a veteran QB. It worked for Green Bay. Oh wait we traded or veteran QB to a division rival. Damn, we're dumbasses 😅

  2. What would taking a QB that high matter if there’s no protection or no one to throw the ball to🤔 don’t be idiots, take Tate at 5 and take Proctor later in the first.. Browns fans are goofy even talking about a QB.. build that offense for 12 or 8 and give them time to grow, whichever one you stick with ..

  3. It's 100% they are going to draft a QB! That's the Cleveland way. He still needs alot of development and Stephanski doesn't align with Shedeur.

  4. They really need a o-line before anything else cause if they can give sheduer time in the pocket I promise your the only way is up but they need a good o line

  5. This what I would do: Keep SS at QB 1 and treat him like a QB1 now and all next season. Fire KS now and Allow new head coach to bring his guys in now. We have enough games left this season for a new coach and new regime to figure out how to move forward, then when it’s off season, the new regime has already had play time to put things together and they can add to it in off season. 2026 Draft. Draft best tackle available with first pick, best receiver available with second pick.

  6. Give Shedeur the best offensive lineman and receiver combinations as we can get next draft. If he sucks then we are set up for a qb in 2 years.

  7. There is not a QB to have ever played the game that wouldn’t look like trash on this offense. No wasting of picks on one will even come close to fixing this team. The Browns desperately need WR and Oline. Get rid of, or demote Jeudy if you have to, and spend both first round picks on the best available WR.

  8. The Browns should focus on getting back to the beatdown run-game. Draft HEALTHY and committed O-line players that don’t stop until the whistle blows. You can teach technique and concepts, but not competencies.

Draft Denzel Boston out of W. He’s 6’4” and 220 pounds with production in receiving yards and TDs. Draft and sign big bodied receivers who can motion and deliver big crack blocks to DEs and LBs.

SS will be good. We don’t know how good, but he’s got heart for the game and a continuous drive for improvement. We have to get the right people in place around him. Then you’ll see more production out of him.

When we draft and sign free agents, we need to get players with characteristics and traits that can’t be taught. You can’t teach height, size, or grit. We can work with players that need improvement of their techniques. But you can’t work with someone who isn’t willing to make sacrifices for the betterment of the team.

  9. Browns win and it's because Shedeur was in the stadium. They lose and it's everything and everyone else's fault. It's a 💩 show for the Browns right now

  10. No QB this year. Play Sanders the rest of the year. Sign a vet to backup Sanders next year (Minshew). First five picks in draft are 2 wr, 2 OL, and a DE.

  11. If the Browns win out, they won’t be in the running for a quarterback, as other teams will snag the best available. The Browns’ biggest needs are on the offensive line and finding a true WR1.

  12. I so sick of the QB drama that Stefanski has created. It’s clear that Dillon the short stack can’t throw the ball down field to save his life. Then you have a QB in Sanders who can and they hardly call any passing plays for him. It’s not like Jeudy can secure the ball when it is thrown his way. Pick Tate out of Ohio State, stone hands Jeudy can go pound salt.
