Tiago Splitter Postgame Media Availability | at Toronto Raptors | December 2nd, 2025
Coach, obviously a tough one, especially since you guys were down 16 and came back to really make it a game. What did you see in the final few minutes of this one? Well, Brooke, um it was clear like if we want to win basketball games, we got to compete for 48 minutes. um can’t sugarcoat this, but you know, we we get back to the game because we find a group that compete and uh we need that for longer than that. We need 48 minutes of fight. Um so it’s it’s my job to get them ready and and I got to do that and then find a way to get those guys to to play 48 minutes and compete the whole game. And what areas did you see that you kind of needed more fight in them? everything. Um, from coverages to one-on-one to box outs to running back in transition, we taking care of the ball. Um, not forcing anything that we don’t we don’t want to do. Uh, driving against three, not passing the ball, then we turn over the ball, they run at you, they get a layup, uncontested layup. Those things cannot happen. So, um, got to get better. I mean, I know this is a young group, but um there’s a lot of things to get better and and you know, and the commitment of playing 48 minutes we we have to have and you know, the game has 200 whatever possession 210. So, you know, you got to treat every possession as gold. Um and we didn’t do that tonight. coach. Uh we noticed in the first half uh Denny everything went through him. He had like uh 10 or 12 assists. Um later on only but they they put like double triple team on him sometimes. Is there any adjustment that he did cuz he finished the game scoring a bit more? Um, yes, there was some adjustments of spacing where the help was coming from and how they were being directional on the pick and roll with him and send him left and we just changed a couple things, but you know, honestly, I don’t think offense was the problem. Uh, we had to get stops and that’s the main thing. I know we talked before the game about Tuman. He had a nice offensive night two nights ago. He kind of continued that tonight. Is that a good sign? Yeah, that’s great. I love to see Tuman. He shot six for 10 um catch and shooting. He he has a great shot. He’s just going to believe on himself and and make people guard him because that that shot is money and he’s got to be confident. And talking about defense, um you started the season fairly good in defense. lately there’s a little bit I don’t know how to call it but uh say it yeah how do you how do you intend to improve it that’s my question well um of course we have we are down five guys or you know um we have younger guys playing their minutes um but doesn’t matter it’s part of you know being a basketball player is improve and get better and and develop these young kids and and they’re going to get better. It’s just about time. But like how soon can you get better? How soon can you learn and go to the next play and do it better? Uh and that’s what our coaching staff is trying to you know pass to them and not not just for this season but for their careers to get better to to develop to to really every possession matters. um that winning mentality got to be uh you know there got to be a little seed in their brain where they know that every possession matters because the end of the game we lose by three points that’s one two possessions one two stops so everything matters Last question here. Austral Rapid transition. Um [Music]

We have so many close hard fought losses it's getting frustrating . hopefully we can get over this close calls losing streak , we're close just not close enough. getting our injured guys back will make a difference but some of those guys are still months out from playing.
The team looks deflated. Giving up easy rebounds and blow bys. This isnβt about missing injured players anymore, Jrue holiday isnβt going to fix that
A good loss imo, Camara 6-10 from 3, Deni 14 assists β Scoot, Jrue will hopefully be back soonβ¦
man in the last minute of this press conference, I just want to through a wall for Coach Tiago man
Hurt player, no training rookie, lose the game.Is this how you give guidance?SplitterοΌ
Our starting the third and fourth quarters are what kill us. Lazy passes.
Why didnβt u play a big When they went to poeltl at the end of the game Tiago. Ur bs coaching costs us game after game
11 missed three throws… π€¦π€¦
This coach asks players to fight 48mins. Thatβs not smart you have to use your brain to strategize it.
I liked more when they were crazy defensive team with Billups. Offense first is not the DNA of this team, they were building their momentum in offense by making defensive plays first!! PLAY DEFENSE
Tiago is awsome
refs at the end…
NGE
Tiago wasted a challenge toward the end of the game on a call that was not going to be overturned. He really could have used that about a minute later on a very questionable call he could have won. Live and learn, hopefully
I would like to know why our 7th pick big man doesnβt play late in games. Is it because he sucks? Is it because he cannot play more than 20 minutes a game like some blazers media members really love to shove in fans faces (we all know youβre just calling him out of shape). Is he injured again?
Pack your bags and get outta Portland
